The System Worked

I found this picture of Janet "Nappy" Napolitano on Michelle Malkin's site, pictured here as "Nappy" the Homeland Security Clown.

Nappy stated that "the system worked" after the pantie-bomber failed to blow up the Detroit bound flight on Christmas Day. The following day she said the system failed.

I think she was right the first time.

The system is not geared to efficiently screen young Muslim men before they board jets. The system is not about preemptively striking against terrorists and winning this undeclared and unprecedented war we're in. The system is politically correct. The system waits for terrorists to strike and then assigns them a lawyer.

The system worked. It's a bad system... But it worked.

Senator Bayh Neglects Hoosiers

Senator Evan Bayh either isn't very bright, or he just isn't paying attention to his job. I mean, I'm not in Washington and I don't watch C-SPAN, but even I was aware that Mary Landrieu and Ben Nelson sold their votes in exchange for some really sweet deals for their states.

Where's our deal, Evan? You handed over your vote as if it was worth nothing!

Senator Bayh, I pay a great deal in taxes, and I expect some of it to be returned to Indiana in the form of bribes and behind-closed-doors deals. I work hard for the money you guys bribe each other with, and I expect a little more effort out of you.

Oxymoron for the Week

"High Maintenance Man"

I've been observing men and women for a long time now and I've learned this: The average woman has a much larger bag of wants, needs, and expectations than the average man.

Men just want a good friend with shaved legs.

Most men are like "Dennis" in the movie Out of Africa of whom it was said, "Dennis loves to give presents, but not at Christmas."

This line, of course, has nothing to do with gift purchasing.

Nest building is a noble and necessary endeavor. The women who are good at it are priceless... And rarely focused upon the furnishings.

This line, of course, has nothing to do with furniture.

Gossip Sells

If a certain golfer would get up today and hang himself in his garage, the so-called news media would be awarded the ultimate prize for all its hard work.

The fact that Gossip News Sells is one of the uglier characteristics of our culture. Good people don't listen... They turn it off. The fact that this story is so pervasive indicates how few good people populate our culture.

Confessions of a Closet Gore Groupie

While it's true that I am a conservative, I am honest enough to admit that, like many, I cannot get enough of Al Gore. I love this man. I want to be this man... And who can blame me?
Here is my Al with a beard.

Prayer and Fasting

For the past three Mondays I've modified my behavior. I have gotten out of bed, drank my coffee and taken my vitamins, but for the rest of the day I've had only water. Tuesdays are the same, but I break my fast with the Tuesday evening meal.

I had already made it a habit of using my 25 minute drive to work as a time for prayer. I use the "ACTS" method... Adoration takes me across the Wildcat Creek, Confession takes me to State Road 19, Thanksgiving takes me to Highway 26, and Supplication takes me the rest of the way to work.

I have discovered that after fasting on Monday, my Tuesday morning prayers are very different. I am not distracted, and my mind does not wander. I am more focused, more tearful, more joyful, more repentant, and my perspective is more attuned to reality and less focused on the world.

I've come to believe that fasting is to prayer what wind is to sailing... It's what salt is to french fries... It's what prescription lenses are to the nearsighted... It's what gasoline is to a bonfire.

I am not a good man and I'm not disciplined, so I don't know how long I will adhere to this practice. But its effects are very interesting.

Fasting is not fun and it's not convenient... It is a spiritual discipline... And it rewards.

To my Christian friends I say, try it! And let me know if it changes your prayer life.

Mike Huckabee and His Willie Horton

The Republican Primary field for 2012 may have just become a little smaller.

Maurice Clemmons shot to death the four police officers shown above. He would have been in prison in Arkansas, but then Governor Mike Huckabee commuted his 108 year prison term, making him eligible for parole.

Nice move, Mike. I'm sure John McCain would approve.

The Art of Political War for Tea Parties

by David Horowitz

In positioning themselves as champions of the under-represented, neglected and oppressed, leftists employ a version of America’s story that they have manufactured through their grip on the media and the academic culture. They have transformed America’s story from an epic of freedom into a tale of racism, exploitation and domination. In their telling, American history is no longer a narrative of expanding opportunity, of men and women succeeding against the odds. Instead, it is a Marxist Morality Play about the powerful and their victims.

The Tea Parties draw on the heritage of America’s own revolution as an underdog nation and are the voice of the people, oppressed now by their own government which is out of control and determined to crush them.

The Jobs Summit

According to Politico, President Obama has already had a “Fiscal Responsibility Summit,” a “Health Care Summit,” an “H1N1 Flu Preparedness Summit,” and even a “Distracted Driving Summit.”

Now comes the "Jobs Summit."

I've heard that this is how Community Organizers operate. They get together and talk things out. No leader. No original thoughts. No solutions. No matter... They have good intentions.

The outlook for jobs and unemployment is grim, and I believe it has been made so much worse by the uncertainty perpetuated by Washington and their antics. And when you add in the new spending and the loss of tax revenue, inflation is sure to follow... Which will perpetuate the unemployment.

I guess I didn't need to retire early.

The American Politburo's Children and their School

Sidwell Friends School

Before Obama and his Red Army stormed the nation's capitol, there was a school voucher program for poor D.C. families who wanted their children to attend an actual school, which was not an actual war zone. The Democrats have arranged for this program to die from attrition.

The Sidwell Friends School is the school of choice for the Politburo's children, and is currently educating the President's daughters. To be fair, it's not that Michelle and Barry don't want their offspring rubbing elbows with riffraff, they are simply paying off the Teacher's unions.

But the reality is clear: Private schools for the Politburo, war zones for the poor.

Hide The Decline - Climategate

Love it.

The American Politburo

Have you noticed that Barack Obama has done nothing to save the dollar or create new jobs... Have you noticed that He and the Dems are doing the exact things that will exacerbate the problem and bring on ruinous inflation?
Barack knows that when the Soviet Union was floundering economically, there was a class of Soviet citizen that prospered and did just fine. There were two classes of Soviet: The poor and the Communist Party Officials. The Politburo and their families did not have to stand in line for food or toilet paper. Barack, Nancy, "Plugs" Biden, and the rest of the American Politburo won't have to stand in line either.

MSNBC Discovers New Information on Fort Hood Murders

MSNBC--According to Keith Olberman, Nidal Malik Hasan did not shout "Allah Ackbar" before he opened fire upon defenseless soldiers at Fort Hood. According to Olberman, Hasan shouted "A La Carte Bar" expressing his anger over the poor food in the cafeteria. This, yet another food-related attack, has been mischaracterized as a terrorist attack by neo-cons who have tried to somehow blame the peaceful religion of Islam for Hasan's actions.

Olberman added, "When a man already suffers from mental illness, sometimes a poorly prepared crepe or even over-cooked carrots can push him into a homicidal funk."

....

I made this up. Sadly, I feel I have to tell you that I made this up... Or you will wonder if this story is true... or if I made it up. Such is the MSM.

The mainstream media is still asking, "Why did he do it? Why was his 'mental illness' not discovered by the military?"

Let's get our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Let's stop all surveillance programs that involve Muslims. We would ultimately be safer if all that money would be spent finding a cure for mental illness. It's not Islam. It's not the Koran. It's mental illness that threatens us...

And possibly cafeteria food.

A Burly Man at Heart

Until I hit my 40's, I was prettier than most people's sisters... Not exactly burly... was I. I was Dick Cavett pretty, but I wasn't Tommy Tune pretty.

I remember sitting in a girlfriend's apartment back in the early 80's, and Tommy Tune came on the TV singing and dancing. I said, "Geez! That guy is prettier than I am!" My girlfriend laughed and said, "Hey, he's prettier than I am, too!"

Before you think I'm bragging... Consider that women aren't attracted to pretty men any more than men like moustached "mannish" women.

But moving on to my point... Having never married, I'm sure assumptions were sometimes made about my sexual orientation that wouldn't have been made before the liberal culture put a spotlight on the gay lifestyle and attempted to legitimize it. Because gays are celebrated and promoted in today's entertainment, bachelors are often looked upon with suspicion.

Am I bitter? Maybe!

Still, I've never been one to gay bash or use slurs. I figure your average fudge-packer has enough problems without having to deal with insensitive remarks... So I refuse to make them.

Recently an NFL player tweeted on Twitter that a person's avatar picture was a "fag pic." He was suspended for two games and fined $300,000.

Well dang!

I think of overweight people, homely little girls, people that aren't very bright, born-again Christians, and other individuals who suffer unkind remarks and yet do not enjoy the same heavy-handed protection that gays benefit from.

Punishing people for their speech is an idea whose time has unfortunately come. It's a part of the slow and steady movement towards liberalism and godlessness, Slouching Towards Gomorrah as Robert Bork put it. I've watched it all my life...

Evil pushes... We stomp our feet, we compromise, we plan our next purchase.

All that just to post another picture of myself.

RINOs Win

Yesterday a Republican stronghold in upstate New York chose to elect a Democrat and give Pelosi another vote rather than be represented by a Reagan conservative.

It was a smack down for Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, and conservatives everywhere. It was a win for the McCains, the Grahams, for Newt Gingrich and other compromisers... and it illustrates the fissure in the Republican party.

Amazing Knowledge for November

I may be a two-bit, mediocre medical technologist, but my job affords me insight into amazing medical knowledge. Oh, people talk about Mayo's and Johns Hopkins, but those of us in the business know that the real innovations and advancements are taking place at small, rural, Indiana hospitals. Most the time when I'm in the lab, I just sit there with my eyes glazed over, mentally processing some new amazing thought. Other times I'm alert and actually paying attention to what I'm doing.

But before you become disproportionately impressed with me, let me get to this month's amazing medical knowledge:

Why We Wear Gloves

When I wear latex gloves I can't draw blood worth crap. I was trained pre-AIDS, and back then we donned gloves only when we were handling fecal specimens or when there was a possibility of getting something really icky on our fingers.

Fortunately, the only time I'm called upon to draw blood these days is when at least two other techs have already failed to acquire a blood specimen. These patients are referred to as "difficult sticks" and the hospital staff cares enough about its patients to look the other way when I perform my magic... ungloved.

By the time I enter the patient's hospital room, the patient is usually scared, upset, or thoroughly PO'd. I stroll in, sporting my best down-home demeanor, speaking slowly and relaxed like an airline pilot... And as I make a show of washing my hands, I use phrases like "You poor thing" and "We appreciate your patience." Then I generally say, "Let's just take our time and see what we can find." My aim is to make the patient confident both in my abilities, and the fact that I care about him.

But back to why we wear gloves...

When AIDS was brand-spanking new, the medical community erred on the side of caution in most instances, because it was not yet known how virulent the disease was, or how likely it could be spread in clinical situations.

Someone... I suspect someone sitting behind a desk, decided that lab personnel would be safer if they wore gloves when they performed venipunctures. The fallacy in that decision is obvious when you consider that 1) gloves make the tech less dexterous, more clumsy, and 2) latex gloves will not stop a needle. Therefore, in an effort to make us safer, the powers that be have surely increased our risk of infection with blood-borne pathogens, because gloves make it more likely that we will stick ourselves with a dirty needle... Especially those of us who did not begin our careers using gloves.

But what really tickles us is this: Most of our patients think that we are wearing gloves for their protection. In fact, patients have actually written letters to our hospital complaining that the tech drawing their blood did not wear gloves.

A couple of the techs that have been "turned in" have complained that, though I hardly ever wear gloves, I've never been turned in. I tell them, "The reason is simple, really... I'm Malott... And you're not."

Obama's Enemies List

Forgive me if I leave anyone out, but Barack Milhous Obama, or Barry Capone as we say in Greentown, seems to add new members weekly... And it's hard to keep up.

So here we go: Insurance companies and unrepentant doctors who surgically remove feet, pharmaceutical companies, terrorist American veterans, tea party attendees, town hall attendees, white policemen, the Chamber of Commerce, talk radio, FOX News, Wall Street and people who like to profit from their work, coal producers, oil companies, SUV drivers, Republicans, Dick Cheney, and of course... George Bush.

Soon to be added: The Independents and Moderates who voted for the guy who would "set aside childish things" and are quickly becoming disillusioned, Blue Dog Democrats who refuse to destroy their careers by toeing Obama's line, and the liberal mainstream media that refuses to ostracize FOX News.

I hope our post-partisan president hurries up and completes his Enemies list so he can get back to the business of uniting us all.

Time for an "honor killing " update...
Police in Arizona are hunting for an Iraqi-American father who they say ran over his daughter with his car to punish her for becoming "too Westernized" and rebuffing the conservative ways he valued.

Noor Faleh Almaleki (above) is in "life-threatening condition," Peoria Police spokesman Mike Tellef told ABCNews.
I'd hope that every reasonable, moderate, and law-abiding Muslim man in the country cringes when he reads such a story... Or do many secretly admire and sympathize with this man? Their silence may reveal something very ugly.

It's been a little over a year and a half since... two teen sisters were found shot to death inside a cab outside a Texas hotel, and their father, who police say is the sole suspect in the New Year's Day killings, remains at large.

Authorities tell ABC News that the investigation so far has produced few solid leads as to Yaser Abdel Said's whereabouts, and they fear he may have fled the country, perhaps even to his native Egypt.

So far Rifqa Bary, the Ohio Muslim teen who converted to Christianity and then fled her family fearing for her life, only to be ordered home by a Florida judge... So far she is still alive... And quaking in fear, I suspect.

Obama Criticizer - String of Failures

This is Rush Limbaugh's call screener. Being black, he is able to criticize Obama, without being called a racist.

...And I wouldn't tell him to "get back on the porch..." At least I wouldn't recommend saying it to his face.

Be Mao, Be Mao Baby

Anita Dunn, Obama's White House Communications Director, said in a speech recently that Chairman Mao was one of her favorite political philosophers.

I believe her.

If Mao Tse-Tung had been born in America... Say... in 1961, and if he rose in politics... maybe in Illinois, as a charismatic Chinese-American... And if he was looking to impose socialism on the American people, not through revolution, but through the political system... If he became president and began seizing corporations and expanding the size and control of the federal government...
Yes, I believe her.

Wallace: White House is Biggest Bunch of Cry Babies I've Dealt with in 30 Years

From foxnews.com : The White House escalated its offensive against Fox News on Sunday by urging other news organizations to stop "following Fox" and instead join the administration's attempt to marginalize the channel.
The White House stopped providing guests to 'Fox News Sunday' after Wallace fact-checked controversial assertions made by Tammy Duckworth, assistant secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, in August. Dunn said fact-checking an administration official was "something I've never seen a Sunday show do."

From Malott's Blog : The reality is that liberal ideas cannot stand up against conservative ideas in a debate. Liberal ideas can only be sold in an unchallenged speech from a lecturn. If Obama's boys and girls could be successful against the probing questions of REAL reporters, they would be on FOX every day.

Rush Limbaugh Dropped

From Malott's Unabridged Pocket Dictionary:
racist (ras' ist)
1) A white man who believes black men are as capable as white men and do not need the Federal Government's help to be successful in life.
2) A white man who is politically conservative. (see Rush Limbaugh)
3) A white man who votes for Republicans.
4) A white man who criticizes Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Charles Rangel, or any other powerful, black race-baiter.
5) A white man who offends liberals by not towing the liberal line on any matter concerning African-Americans. (see hate speech)
syn. Republican, conservative, NASCAR fan

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh was to be a limited partner in a bid led by St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts, but Checketts said in a statement Wednesday that Limbaugh's participation had complicated the effort. The group will move forward without him.

The move against Limbaugh was propelled by left-wing media, liberal sportscasters, and liberal athletes, using supposed quotes from Limbaugh that mysteriously cannot be found in any recording.

Limbaugh said that he never made those statements, and that if he had, his African-American call screener, Bo Snerdley, would have walked out years ago.

I once called the show and talked to Mr. Snerdley. He was not smooth or polite. (Imagine calling ACORN). He was very intimidating. He had the kind of voice... Well if I was in a dark alley and I heard that voice behind me, I would immediately urinate into my drawers.

"This is not about the NFL, it's not about the St. Louis Rams, it's not about me," Limbaugh said. "This is about the ongoing effort by the left in this country, wherever you find them, in the media, the Democrat Party, or wherever, to destroy conservatism, to prevent the mainstreaming of anyone who is prominent as a conservative.

Limbaugh, of course, is not a racist. He celebrates conservatives of all colors. His problem is that he debunks liberalism in a way that is not politically correct... And that he is very effective when he does it. This makes him the target of the liberal media who can distort his words with impunity.

Looks like the liars won this time.

The Abortion Addict

A woman has admitted to being 'an abortion addict' after having 15 terminations over 17 years.

Irene Vilar said she had the abortions not from poverty or fear but as an extraordinary act of rebellion against her 'controlling' husband who did not want children.

The cycle of pregnancies and abortions, which began when she was 16 and ended when she was 33, was also punctuated by several suicide attempts.

Now a successful literary agent with two young daughters, Loretta, five, and Lolita, three, Mrs Vilar has written about her experiences in a memoir, called Impossible Motherhood: Testimony of an Abortion Addict.

That's nice. Now she can make money on her dead babies.

I just can't get my mind around... 15. That's like rounding up 5 families that have three kids each, and wiping out the kids. She killed half of a grade school classroom. It's like snuffing out the lives of little Joey, Bethany, Kristen, Elijah, Tommy, Annie, Janie, Emma, Jacob, Daniel, Olivia, Chloe, Michael, Elizabeth, and Matthew. It's like killing the Brady Bunch kids and then wiping out the Waltons, before heading down the street and polishing-off Wally and the Beaver. This woman snuffed out 15 little bodies. 15 little minds. Her own precious children.

Rio Bad for Obama

OBAMA: "There is nothing I would like more than to step just a few blocks from my family's home, with Michelle and our two girls and welcome the world back into our neighborhood. At the beginning of this new century, the nation that has been shaped by people from around the world wants a chance to inspire it once more."

MICHELLE: "But I never dreamed that the Olympic flame might one day light up lives in my neighborhood," she said. "But today, I can dream, and I am dreaming of an Olympic and Paralympic Games in Chicago that will light up lives in neighborhoods all across America and all across the world."

MSNBC, NATALIE MORALES: A lot of confidence here from the Chicago delegation, uh, particularly after the president and first lady made such a passionate and emotional appeal to the IOC voters here... Uh, you know, it remains to be seen what will happen in the next couple of hours because it's scheduled to go for a vote about 12:30 Eastern time but, uh, a lot of people feeling like this is Chicago's time.
Oh, it was crazy. We in the press we were all standing there waiting to see if the president and first lady would even walk by us! But he kind of got stuck behind a wall as, uh, the IOC pretty much rushed him. Everybody seemed to really want their picture with the president, shaking hands; and of course the IOC voters trying to appear somewhat impartial but you could tell that they, too felt the rock star power there that the president and first lady were exuding.

CNN, TONY HARRIS: Chicago is out? Chicago is out? Madrid is still in? Tokyo is still in? Wait a minute, Chicago is out?

LOS ANGELES TIMES: "Chicago's Swift Elimination at 2016 Olympics Host is Political Blow to Obama."

THE DAILY MAIL UK: "Humiliation for Obama as Chicago is Eliminated in First Round of Voting."

UK TIMES ONLINE: "Obama's Olympic Failure Will Only Add to Doubts About his Presidency."

JESSE JACKSON: I would like to know what happened, 'cause there's always underlying politics in these decisions, but I'm shocked and saddened, and I really anticipated we would win. We sent our A-team, president, first lady, made such a great presentation; the mayor, the governor, Oprah Winfrey, our Olympic -- Olympians.

Nothing succeeds like success. Nothing fails like failure.

Welcome to the Freedom First PAC

Gee Tim, that's nice. But you know what I want? I want the strongest conservative candidate that the Republican Party can field in 2012. I hope the primaries deliver him, or her, to us. I don't care if the name is Pawlenty, Palin, Jindal, Romney, or even Huckabee... I want a winner. Because we can't afford to fail.

Pawlenty's Church

THE PURPOSE of Wooddale Church is to honor God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ. A disciple commits to obey Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord—growing in knowledge of God, service for God, and sharing of God.

WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God, inerrant in its original manuscripts. The Bible is our supreme and final authority in faith and life.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.

WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according to the scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He rose victorious from the grave on the third day; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

WE BELIEVE that all Christians are baptized by the Holy Spirit when they are born again. We believe that water baptism by immersion is the biblical testimony of the professed believer in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE that those who partake of the Lord’s Supper should be born-again believers, walking in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

I suspect Jeremiah Wright need not apply for employment at this Church.

A Young Girl's Testimony

Two weeks after Polanski plied her with Champagne and a Quaalude, Samantha Gailey appeared before an L.A. grand jury and recalled Polanski's predatory behavior in a Mulholland Canyon home owned by Jack Nicholson.

The teenager's troubling--and contemporaneous--account of her abuse at Polanski's hands begins with her posing twice for topless photos that the director said were for French Vogue. The girl then told prosecutors how Polanski directed her to, "Take off your underwear" and enter the Jacuzzi, where he photographed her naked. Soon, the director, who was then 43, joined her in the hot tub. He also wasn't wearing any clothes and, according to Gailey's testimony, wrapped his hands around the child's waist.

The girl testified that she left the Jacuzzi and entered a bedroom in Nicholson's home, where Polanski sat down beside her and kissed the teen, despite her demands that he "keep away." According to Gailey, Polanski then performed a sex act on her and later "started to have intercourse with me." At one point, according to Gailey's testimony, Polanski asked the 13-year-old if she was "on the pill," and "When did you last have your period?" Polanski then asked her, Gailey recalled, "Would you want me to go in through your back?" before he "put his penis in my butt." Asked why she did not more forcefully resist Polanski, the teenager told Deputy D.A. Roger Gunson, "Because I was afraid of him."

This shouldn't happen to children. Any adult who hurts a child must be punished. Looking the other way or making excuses clouds an issue that decency demands remain crystal clear.

Netanyahu, Israel, Stand Alone at UN

Great speech. Too bad Obama's Amerika stands with the enemies of Israel...

I've heard talk that if the Israeli Air force attempts to fly over Iraq in order to reach and destroy the nuclear reactors in Iran, Obama may order the United States Air force to intercept the Israeli bombers, and perhaps shoot them down.

More and more it appears that Obama feels the same way about Israel as her enemies do. In fact, Obama seems to feel the same way about America as her enemies do. That's why America's enemies love him.

Quote(s) of the Day

"... in that Qaddafi speech, I mean that guy covered every topic... 9/11, swine flu, Yugoslavia, jet lag, health care... how he wants 'Our son Barack Obama'... by the way, for the 'Birthers' I don't think that's a literal thing, so don't go hunting up the Libyan birth certificate... How he wants 'our son Barack Obama' to be America's president for life... and why not... It's worked out great for Libya and North Korea."

Democrats Win Republican Straw Poll

WASHINGTON — A straw vote suggests former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is a favorite among religious conservatives to be president in 2012.

This is the same Huckabee that ran for Vice President in the primaries of '08. You remember him... He was the guy kissing John McCain's liberal rear end while attacking his conservative rivals.

Religious people should be more interested in finding out which conservative candidate the moderates and independents prefer. But they're not.

Obviously Christians are saved from sin, not stupidity.

Democrats must be thrilled with the vote.

Understanding Jimmy

I would love to be able to get into Jimmy Carter's head and understand why he says the things he does. Imagine the fascinating pathology that failure has inflicted upon the mind of an arrogant elitist like Carter. Since leaving office he has spent his energy looking for respect and redemption.

In these efforts, Carter naturally concentrates on the only two groups which are the least bit interested in what he has to say... The liberal media and the Democrat Party. He sides with the Palestinians, pays homage to Fidel Castro, and calls Obama's detractors racists in an effort to appeal to the Leftists and Socialists that run the media and his Party.

A proud and arrogant man such as Carter must find it hard to love a country who tossed him aside in favor of a Hollywood actor... An actor who experienced great success as president immediately following Carter's dismal failures... An actor who garnered the love and respect of his countrymen.

So Jimmy... I understand... And I'm sorry for you... But you're still an arrogant putz.

Hiring Blacks... Electing Blacks...

ATLANTA (AP) - Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst to President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress last week was an act "based on racism" and rooted in fears of a black president.

Carter does Obama no favors when he trashes the white electorate. He should stick to his first love... trashing the Jews.

A few years ago the University of Notre Dame hired a very good African-American man named Ty Willingham, as its football coach. The decision was heralded as the "right move." Unfortunately, Willingham didn't win. And more to the point, he didn't recruit well which meant there would be no winning in Notre Dame's future. So the university fired him, which was the "right move," because they wanted to win.

Articles were written about the firing of Willingham that criticized Notre Dame, and offered the fact that previous white coaches had been given more years to prove themselves with the Irish football program. Please note: Any suggestion of racism against a college football program hurts the recruiting of black athletes, so the criticism was not an insignificant thing.

The moral of the story? Be very cautious when you contemplate hiring a black coach, because if he doesn't work out... firing him will get ugly. The race card was used against Notre Dame by well-meaning sports writers, but I believe the effect had the potential at least to decelerate the rise of some very talented up-and-coming black coaches.

We are now seeing the same race card being played against critics of our first black president, whose socialist policies are becoming more unpopular by the day with conservative, moderate, and independent voters. American voters, and employers, are learning that Obama's election was as much a cultural cause as a means to a successful future. If we "fire him" in 2012, the mainstream media will no doubt trash the electorate with charges of racism.

The moral of the story? Elect white guys! If they don't work out, you can get rid of them without being branded with the most fearful and despicable label of our times... that being the label... Racist!

Good people of all political persuasions do not take kindly to having their knuckles whacked by left-wing pundits over nonexistent racism... a phantom evil that does not lounge in their hearts.

Who suffers in all this? The black politician? Yes! The average African-American looking for a job? Yes!

Moderates and conservatives have long been rooting for the black man, the black family, and their success. The race card is the political device that taints these good people with an unfair burden, a warning to employers that the hiring of this minority comes with a risk.

Proving yourself worthy of employment is hard enough without entertaining a monkey on your back. I hope that the race card albatross, the race card mill stone, will one day be mercifully put to bed.

Press Protected Minority

Precisely one year ago, on Sept. 12, 2008, 25 people died and many more were seriously injured in a commuter train wreck in California. For two days the horrific accident was front-page news, and then suddenly the story died. By the first week of November, Internet search engines for the most part found only stories that followed the initial crash.

In contrast, the Metrorail accident in Washington, D.C., that killed nine people in June 2009 has received massive media coverage. An Internet search of the operator's name, Jeanice McMillan, yields dozens of results despite the fact that she was blameless in the crash. Why, then, was the larger and more fatal accident dropped from the news in just a few days?

The answer: The engineer, Robert M. Sanchez, 46, was a homosexual, and he was sending a text message to a teenage boy when he blew through a red light, crashing head-on into an oncoming freight train. Because being "gay" is a media cause in America, and particularly in California, virtually no gay crime is reported. Domestic violence involving gays is rarely if ever reported in California newspapers despite the fact that it represents a disproportionate number of police calls. Simply put, the minute the individual who caused the train crash was identified as being homosexual, reporting on the disaster came to a virtual stop.

I found a link to this story on http://www.peterheck.com/ and showed it to a Christian friend at work who votes for Democrats (He's young), and after reading the above, he said you can't believe everything you read on the Internet. Case closed.

However... The article continues...

On Sept. 21, 2008, the New York Times did publish a 40-paragraph, sympathetic story about the killer engineer, Robert Sanchez, which centered on his diabetes and the suicide of his "partner" in 2003. The dead and injured passengers were not mentioned. In paragraph one of the story, titled "Several Portraits Emerge of Engineer in Crash," it is mentioned that he was sending a text message to a teenage boy at the time of the accident, saying, "He encouraged teenagers who showed their own enthusiasm for the rails. ..."

I take no pleasure in trashing this dead gay guy, but I know that if he had been a heterosexual texting his girlfriend it would have been a huge story. If he had been a Christian texting prayers to his pastor... Oh my!

Let's get real: Bob Sanchez was using his position as a railroad engineer to pick up teenage boys who had an interest in railroads. In his excitement in communicating with a teenage boy by text message he took his eyes off the rails in front of him and killed himself and 24 others while leaving dozens with permanent injuries, some crippled for life.

I don't know that the first sentence in the paragraph above is true, and neither does the author. But I know that linking gay men with young boys just isn't done in today's liberal news cycle. According to the liberal template, our young men are safe from gays, and there is absolutely no proselytizing going on. "Chickenhawk," a man who uses underage boys for his sexual pleasure, is a a prejudiced and unspoken slur.

Fine. This story unveils the liberal press, that picks and chooses who they will vilify.

Malott's Medical Tips

I love to give advice. I have no real concern as to whether or not my advice is followed... I just love to give advice.

1) Before choosing a physician, ask nurses and other medical professionals from the nearest hospital who they would recommend. They pretty much know who is competent... and though they won't tell you which doctors shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine, they will likely have, and be willing to offer, strong opinions about who is good. Try and find out which doctors the other doctors and their families go to for treatment.

2) As a rule, choose older physicians. Their vacation homes are already paid for.

3) If you have outpatient work to be done (lab, X-ray, etc.), find a way to have that work done early on a weekday morning. Don't expect the same quality at 6PM that you'd get at 8AM. The best technicians generally don't work evenings, nights, or weekends.

4) Sing, laugh, hug, kiss, hold hands, and have sex as much as you can. It's good for your immune system. Never pass up an opportunity to hold a baby or cuddle a child.

5) Go to the surgeon last.

6) Do not get emotionally involved with your physician. He is running a business, and you are not his relative. And remember, no matter how good he is, he has blind spots and bad days. Bedside manner and likability are the two most overrated aspects of physician care.

7) Don't go to the doctor for every little pain. My grandmother NEVER went to the doctor, NEVER was in the hospital, and lived to be 92. My mother has frequently visited the doctor all her adult life, has been on a multitude of medications, has been in the hospital numerous times... And I believe this is the proximal reason why at 83 she enjoys the same health that her mother enjoyed at 92.

8) If you don't exercise, don't get enough rest, don't keep your weight down... and if you eat junk... Don't expect to feel good. Clean up these areas of your life before you go to your physician for a pill.

9) Go to Church, practice fasting, read the Bible, and pray at least five minutes, out loud, every morning. You will enjoy better health.

10) Don't get critically ill or have accidents on the weekend.

11) Wear loose fitting clothing and comfortable shoes.

12) Forgive... especially family members. Find a way to be content with, and enjoy what you have. Avoid anger. You will grow fewer tumors.

13) Take a multiple vitamin once per day, and take a vitamin C & B complex twelve hours later. (Vitamins A, D, and E are fat soluble - your body stores them... C&B are water soluble, and you pee them away.)

14) Enjoy the sunshine, but stay out of tanning beds.

15) Do not have bariatric surgery.

16) Submit to necessary vaccinations. They stimulate your immune system.

17) If you live in an agricultural area, drink bottled water from somewhere else.

18) Prepare your own food (from unprocessed ingredients) as much as possible. Develop a taste for green things, and eat lots of them. Avoid arsenic, sugar, lead, mercury, and other poisons.

19) Carry hand sanitizer in your car. Use it after you go to the grocery or the mall... And be sure to use it after attending Church. And if you're sick, do the Christian thing and stay home from Church.

20) If you have a stressful job, find something to hit... like a punching bag, a tennis ball, or a liberal acquaintance.

Israeli Astronaut's Son Perishes

After hours of rumors, the IDF has lifted a gag order and permits the publication of the sad news that an IAF F-16 fighter plane went down in the Southern Chevron Hills area. The pilot, Lt. Assaf Ramon, was killed in the crash, which occurred near the community of Maale Chever.

He was the oldest of four children, and his father, Colonel Ilan Ramon Z”L, was Israel’s first astronaut, who perished along with the crew of the ill-fated Columbia NASA STS-107 Columbia mission in 2003.

Very sad for the family and all of Israel.

It made me think of sisters Lisa and Samantha Egan, 31 and 24 respectively who died in the Twin Towers.

Lisa got her younger sister the job at Cantor Fitzgerald Securities which lost 685 employees in the attack on September 11th.
And then there were the 5 Sullivan Brothers from Iowa who all died on the USS Juneau in WWII.
Some families sacrifice more than their share.

"You Lie!" - Rep. Joe Wilson OWNS Barack Obama on Illegal Immigration at Congress Health Care Speech

First of all, I don't approve of congressmen trashing the decorum that traditionally accompanies joint sessions of Congress. As a conservative, I wish, when representative Wilson lost control, he would have yelled, "That's not true!".

I'm sure Wilson was frustrated because Republicans sought to amend the House Bill demanding a "citizenship verification system," but it was rejected by Democrats. Illegals already have free healthcare in hospitals, and the hospitals eat the bill. Government-run healthcare would probably pass that bill directly to taxpayers, instead of the current system that indirectly passes the cost to Americans in the form of higher hospital procedure prices.

Wilson should not be praised for his vulgar outburst, nor should he be punished for speaking the truth. At least he didn't yell, "You suck," which I said several times, unreported, as I watched Obama's promotional instruction in socialism.

She Likes to Watch (Update)

I blogged here about visiting the Facebook page of a woman from our church of whom I'd heard such glowing spiritual things... And that I was soooo disappointed when I read that her favorite TV shows were Grey's Anatomy and House.

Well this weekend I was watching the news and surfing during commercials... And I came upon a re-run of Grey's Anatomy. This program was in the middle of a commercial break, but I decided to watch and see how long it took them to get to something immoral.

After the commercial, the scene opened with a male and female in scrubs, standing in a hospital stairwell, discussing the fact that they had recently had sex. The male wanted to know how many men the woman had been with, and ended up announcing that he had syphilis.

I remember thinking, 'Well now that didn't take long!'

Later this weekend I stumbled upon House, and decided to watch. About 5 minutes in, there was a bachelor party in which men were licking something off the bare midriffs of prostitutes, then using their mouths to retrieve a shot glass of liquor from the prostitute's cleavage, and then accepting some object mouth to mouth from the prostitutes. It looked like it could be a ritual from a temple of Baal.

Mm Hmm. Now I'm sure the spiritual lady from church would bristle a bit if I walked up to her on Sunday and asked if I could drink liquor from her cleavage. I'm sure she would be insulted being asked to participate in such a vile act...

After all, she is a Christian and prefers to just watch.

Now remember, this is one of the most respected and loved... Supposedly one of the most faithful and religious women in our church... Makes me wonder what the riffraff on the back row are up to!

And I suspect this is an example of why organized religion enjoys, and has earned, the reputation it has in this country. It may help explain why two thirds of our young people leave the Church.

Like I said in my previous post, I have my own list of spiritual short-comings. But I will not be bragging about them on Facebook.

Obama ‘Disingenuous’

British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.

Well now that can't possibly be. When the Lockerbie terrorist was released, Obama was outraged. Outraged, I tell you!

‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.

‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.

During the campaign, Obama said a great deal about earning back the world's respect and trust. Obviously the respect and trust of our staunchest ally is of little concern.

But then, any country that loves and supports the United States has little in common with Barack Obama. I'm sure it stems from the teachings of that great theologian, Reverend Wright... Love thine enemy... And anyone else who despises America... At least white America, anyway.

I wonder if the mainstream media will display any curiosity over what the President knew, and when he knew it.

My Time Selling Bibles in Georgia... And Dr Manning... Seen Below...

Well... I doubt this African American has the support of the NAACP. I know nothing about him, other that I'm confident he is currently branded an Uncle Tom.

He reminds me of Blacks I met back in the summer of '76, when I was a college student selling Bibles door-to-door in Georgia. The black families I met were proud, family oriented people who loved Dr King, but were not sold on the Left Wing ideas that accompanied the Civil Rights movement. I'm sure they had witnessed injustice but they weren't filled with anger or bitterness... They had lives to lead and children to raise and friends to enjoy. They were very religious... they almost always invited me in... and their biggest concern was as to whether or not my Bibles were the "Holy Bible"... which meant that they wanted the "King James" version.

I remember that I once sat on the porch in Newnan Georgia with a middle-aged black man, telling him about my goods, when a truck pulled up and unloaded a bunch of young black kids that were selling magazine subscriptions. A black kid, about my age, approached us and started talking to this man... Acting as if I wasn't there... And the middle-aged black man pointed to me and said, "He was here first." The kid sort of snarled and walked away.

I remember being invited onto the screened-in-porch of an old black woman who sat in her bed-clothes... She didn't see well, and when I showed her my sample "Large-Print Bible," she cried. She said, "I can't afford this Bible... there should be a way people like me should get this." I just handed my sample Bible to her and walked down the street.

It was a learning experience.

I'm sure "The South" has changed since 1976. The black families I met were intact, welcoming, and secure in their Christian heritage.

Anyway, I suspect Dr Manning is a dying breed. He is linked to a culture that valued God and Family.

I suspect that popular Liberalism has destroyed much of the character I loved in the Black Community in Georgia... The good people that took a wandering white college student "in" and made me feel welcome.

Amazing Knowledge for September

I recently had a conversation with the ignorant women I work with about television sitcoms. I decided to impart to them a bit of knowledge from my vast personal stores.

I opened my mouth and spake unto them, saying, "Did you know that sitcoms are recorded in two different ways?"

They looked back at me as if I was speaking Chinese, a vacant look to which I've grown accustomed.

But for their sake I patiently continued by explaining that sitcoms were recorded on either film or videotape. With video tape, everything in the picture is in focus and has the look of live TV, like newscasts. Soaps are recorded in this format.

Film has a different look. In filmed sitcoms, the action is in focus and the background is not.

Videotaped sitcoms include The Cosby Show, All in the Family, Three's Company.

Filmed sitcoms include Mary Tyler Moore, Seinfeld, Mash.

Newhart (Vermont Inn Newhart) started out on video tape, but later switched to film.

You may be able to visualize scenes from these programs and note the distinct difference.

Skyepuppy's son probably knows all about this... He may know more than... even I.

Your assignment, should you decide to accept it, is to report back and demonstrate the ability discern the difference between video taped sitcoms, and those that are filmed...

And remember, I'm always here to help you enrich your life with Amazing Knowledge.

Kennedy Mystique Illustrated

One of Kennedy’s close friends, former editor of Newsweek and New York Times Magazine Ed Klein, tells the Diane Rehm Show that Chappaquiddick jokes were high up on the list (of the jokes Kennedy enjoyed).

"I don’t know if you know this or not, but one of his favorite topics of humor was indeed Chappaquiddick itself. And he would ask people, 'have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquiddick?' That is just the most amazing thing."

Yes, indeed. That is the most amazing thing.

I believe this is an amazing illustration of the irrational absurdity of the Kennedy mystique that has pervaded this country since the election of John in 1960. Not just the fact that senator Kennedy would feel free to ask about the jokes, but that his friend, Klein, feels free to reveal the fact and not suspect that America will be shocked and disgusted.

KennedyCare

In the words of Obama Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, "You never want a good corpse to go to waste."

Shades of Paul Wellstone. It looks as if the Democrats are going to attempt to revive government-run health care by naming it after Ted Kennedy and adopting the battle cry, "Let's win one for Ted!"

But the "Dead Ted Health Care Plan" is still government-run health care, and I doubt the town hall protesters will be moved simply because it's named after the biggest reprobate and embarrassment in the history of American politics... Even if he was the brother of a former popular president.

I have a better idea. If you want to name a socialist program after Ted, why not create government-run car insurance? Try this on:

KennedyCollision

This is a far more appropriate and fitting monument to the hero of Chappaquiddick.

After a day of sailing and heavy drinking, Kennedy drove his black Oldsmobile sedan off a small wooden bridge into Poucho Pond, trapping (Mary Jo) Kopechne in seven feet of water.

The second-term senator waited nearly 10 hours to report the accident and offered virtually no explanation other than he "panicked."

But during those 10 hours this "panicked senator" managed to change into his Regatta-worthy duds and have several light-hearted yuck-it-up conversations with people on the island.

Even those who had faith in the senator worried about his ability to handle a crisis. Friends testified in an inquest that after the accident a confused and crying Kennedy, trying to blame the accident on others begged, "What am I going to do, what can I do?"

Americans were horrified when they learned that rescue workers found her body in the well of the back seat with her head held up, perhaps indicating that she had been alive for some time breathing in an air pocket.

Ironically, in 1988 at the Democrat National Convention, Ted gave his famous "Where was George" speech on the 19th anniversary of the night Mary Jo Kopechne was suffocating in an Oldsmobile foot well wondering, "Where is Teddy?"

Within five days of the accident, Kennedy's lawyers arranged for him to plead guilty to leaving the scene of the accident involving personal injury with a two-month suspended sentence and one-year probation.

Let's Name Obama's Healthcare Plan after Ted

Yep.

Sen. Robert C. Byrd (D-WV) thinks that the health care reform bill should be named for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA): "In his honor and as a tribute to his commitment to his ideals, let us stop the shouting and name calling and have a civilized debate on health care reform which I hope, when legislation has been signed into law, will bear his name for his commitment to insuring the health of every American."

I love it when I'm right.

My mother still sometimes calls me Ted.

She Likes to Watch

I read a comment recently on Facebook made by a woman from our church that I'd heard glowing spiritual things about. I followed the comment back to her profile page, and because she'd not activated security, I was able to nib in her personal stuff. Under her "favorite TV shows" she listed a couple programs that feature stories of your basic immorality, people sleeping with people... Well, you know how network television is... It celebrates immorality.

Anyway, it was sooooo disappointing.

It's funny how things haven't really changed since Old Testament times. When the Israelites worshiped other gods, it often involved sexual immorality. Some people performed the sex acts, and other people watched.

Evidently the woman from church likes to watch.

I don't think it's possible to be engaged in the popular culture and its entertainments, and not be polluted by the world. I've given up TV evenings, though I still watch the news and turn on "Nick at Nite" type stuff when I crawl into bed. In the evenings when I need to be entertained, I listen to my podcast sermons.

I'm sure I'm still not as good at being good as the woman from Church, but at least I recognize my desperate situation, and less and less of my sin is premeditated.

Next thing to give up... The Internet!

Marco Rubio is running against RINO Florida governor Charlie Crist for the U.S. Senate nomination. Rubio is expected to lose.

Crist supported Obama's stimulus package, and conservatives believe he will shake-out to be another Olympia Snow or Arlen Specter.

Rubio is a Reagan Republican.

Washington's Compassion

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Obama administration will raise its 10-year budget deficit projection to approximately $9 trillion from $7.108 trillion in a report next week, a senior administration official told Reuters on Friday.

At some point our bills come due. Unfortunately for people my age, it looks as if the day of reckoning will come just about the time we retire... Or the time we thought we would like to retire.

Anyone old enough to remember the 70's understands how cruel an inflationary period can be. People who played by the rules in the 50's and 60's, saved their money, creating a nest egg that seemed like so much, were made poor when their dollars suddenly bought so much less.

Washington will buy votes and level the playing field by printing money, and that will make my money worth less.

I spend my life working hard, giving the government about a third of my income so that lazy people can stay home and watch TV... And then when I retire I'm not significantly better off than the lazy people my hard work supported. That's Socialism's reward for the industrious.

Kelly Ayotte and Sarah Palin: Two of a Kind

Evidently the Democrats are as afraid of Kelly Ayotte as they are of Sarah Palin.
Ayotte is a rising Republican star. The popular Attorney General for the state of New Hampshire is a pro-life, pro-gun, anti gay marriage mother. She'll be running for the U.S. Senate.

He's Always Been Faithful - Sarah Groves

I'm not generally a fan of Sarah Groves, but I love this song and the arrangement.

Female Runner's Sex Questioned

Now here is a story that interests me.

A female runner accused of being a man tonight took gold in the 800m World Athletics Championship.
South African Caster Semenya, 18, had to take a gender test after doubts were raised about her sex.

The article didn't say if the test was written or oral.

So what is the defining factor that determines sex? You can't go by hormone levels because it would be unfair to disqualify a woman who just naturally produced high levels of testosterone. You can't go by "equipment" because certain parts sometimes fail to develop, or drop. You could hunt for the Y chromosome, but sex-changed Renee Richards was allowed to compete against women tennis players and he/she still had his/her Y's.

The inexpensive test would be to drop her off at the mall and see if she headed for the video arcade, or Penny's.

Regardless... I wish her well, and at the end of the day one fact will remain true... She is a handsome woman.

Quote for the Day

"The rich are distracted by the crap they have and the poor are distracted by the crap they want."
--Grammy, from her comment below.

....
Among the Thorns

The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. Mt 13

Unfruitful... Meaning not saved.

I wonder if this verse describes many of the people in American churches. I haven't attended mine in a couple Sundays because I've been sick... But the last time I was there I heard a sermon about grace that made me want to spit up on my shoes. Somehow narrowly preaching about grace to a group of lukewarm, proud, distracted, rich people seems a little irresponsible.

I would have felt better if the preacher had ended his sermon this way: "Now remember that you are the rich of the world and you need to examine yourselves... You know about the camel and the eye of the needle thing, so - who more than you - needs to work out his salvation with fear and trembling?"

While we are not saved by "works", works are the only indication as to whether we are saved, or we are just the seed that fell among the thorns. If we are saved, works will spring up... And we would be unable to quench those works even if we tried. I believe your "personal fruits" are the easiest way to gauge all this. If you start your day with Bible reading and on-your-knees prayer... If you take joy in tithing... If your conversations with Christian friends take on an excitement when they center on the Lord... If you are turning off your television and searching for entertainment that honors God... If day to day and year to year, you love the world less and seek the Kingdom more, and seek it first... If you're putting in quality and quantity time with God... ... ... I suspect your feet are on the path.

But if you comfortably go a day without praying... If your Bible is dusty... If the entertainment you choose is questionable... If your giving is based upon what's left over after you've purchased what you want... If a conversation about Jesus makes you want to whisper... If your faith is something you only do in church on Sunday... ... ... ... ... ... Good luck with that Grace thing!

Anyway, I wish the preacher would have warned, challenged, and encouraged... But everyone was having such a good time...

My personal goal is to humbly put in the time... To tremble...To progress... And surely Grace will cover the rest.

Obama, You Scare Me

I checked out the information below on Snopes, and it's true.

Lou Pritchett is the author of this opinion and told TruthorFiction.com that he submitted this to the New York Times under the title of "Obama, You Scare Me" but they never published it. Pritchett did say that his article managed to make it to the world wide web where circulation went ballistic.

Pritchett is a former vice president of Procter & Gamble and wrote "Stop Paddling and Start Rocking the Boat" as well as numerous books and periodicals.

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me. You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll. You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world. You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.
