The "Dead Ted" Health Care Plan

"What better tribute could there be to the greatest Senator we've had in decades?"
--Andy Stern, Union Leader

Obama's intent is to transform the world's Cadillac of health care into the Yugo of health care. He will accomplish this by naming it after the dying Senator, Ted Kennedy... Who like Barack Obama, will never have to wait in line for hernia surgery or a cardiac bypass operation.

I see it this way: Ted is dying... I'm dying... You're dying... And I resent this maudlin device, this sentimental gimmick that will be used to facilitate the wrecking of our health care system.

Dr Clarence Cobb, the guy who hired me to work in his lab 30 years ago, once talked to me about the practice of medicine prior to medicare and medicaid. Back then the caring for people who could not afford to pay was simply part of the practice of medicine, and the doctors accepted that fact. Then the government came along and said they were going to give the poor health care, and would pay the doctors for treating them... And the doctors said, "OK!"

Many entitlements and accompanying regulations later, doctors' offices and hospitals have more employees pushing paper than treating patients... And band-aids cost $100.00

Nothing good can some from Washington's enhanced control of the health care system.

Maybe we could just give Ted a plaque.

Personally, Ted doesn't even merit a plaque, in my humble opinion.

But you are correct, the tactics are shameless. The left always appeals to the emotions rather than to logic. It's too bad so few have figured this out.
