Now here is a story that interests me.
A female runner accused of being a man tonight took gold in the 800m World Athletics Championship.
South African Caster Semenya, 18, had to take a gender test after doubts were raised about her sex.

The article didn't say if the test was written or oral.
So what is the defining factor that determines sex? You can't go by hormone levels because it would be unfair to disqualify a woman who just naturally produced high levels of testosterone. You can't go by "equipment" because certain parts sometimes fail to develop, or drop. You could hunt for the Y chromosome, but sex-changed Renee Richards was allowed to compete against women tennis players and he/she still had his/her Y's.
The inexpensive test would be to drop her off at the mall and see if she headed for the video arcade, or Penny's.
Regardless... I wish her well, and at the end of the day one fact will remain true... She is a handsome woman.

Oh Chris, you crack me up. Is there any way we can find out if the test was wrtten or oral?
Question; would this be any different if this was a guy who ran like a girl?????
Janice,
If a guy ran like a girl, he'd never make it to the World Championships.
Well, I may be accused of being blind or something; but this athlete definately DON'T look feminine to me!
Of course, there are stories of rabbi's messing up circumcsions....
