Who's the Hot Chick in Front?

She looks familiar to me...

Quote of the Day

"I believe it's our fear of provoking Islamic violence that keeps us from having a frank and open discussion about the irrational fear of Islam (Islamophobia) and its root causes." -Malott

So the Rumors are True...

When forbidden love is caught on film, we recoil at first... We find it repulsive, and yet... Strangely alluring.

Well, not always alluring...

John McCain and Harry Reid were caught sneaking out from behind a tree today. Standing far apart, they tried to look innocent... But observers suspected the worst.

Quote of the Day

A conservative believes that people go to the movies to be entertained and to church to be preached to, not the other way around... Glenn Beck
Shopping with Mom

In my previous post, Dear Sweet Bekah commented that I should have gone shopping at the Hobby Lobby with her and her friend.

I get the feeling that when Bekah shops, she picks up every single item in the store, looks at it, and sets it back down.

My mother shopped that way when I was little... And I can't tell you how I suffered. The boredom... The standing around and behaving for, what seemed, hours.

And then when I acted up she would drop down on one knee, hold my face in her hands, and tenderly say, "If you don't straighten up, I'll pull down your pants right here in front of everyone, and blister your bare bottom!

To this day, I will not go shopping with that woman.

Why My Life is Better Than Yours

Every day people I barely know stop me on the street and ask me... They say, "Malott, your life is obviously better than mine. Can you tell me why?" Usually I just push them out of my way, especially if they're old, female, and infirmed.

But it occurred to me that the people who visit my blog might be wondering the same thing... Why my life is better than theirs. So let me take a moment to explain...

Am I smarter than you? ...No.

Am I better looking? ...You've seen the size of my ears.

Am I more popular than you? ...My high school class voted me, "Least likely to be remembered."

Am I wealthier than you? ...Hardly.

Am I more loved by God? ...Well... Perhaps.

Am I a better cook? ...Absolutely!

But the main and foremost reason that my life is better than yours, is that... I live in Indiana... And in a few weeks I'll be eating this:

So What Exactly Happens When You Put Liberal, Activist Judges On The Supreme Court?

NEW YORK — Angry politicians vowed to keep writing laws that condemn child rapists to death, despite a Supreme Court decision saying such punishment is unconstitutional.

Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called the ruling "incredibly absurd," "a clear abuse of judicial authority" and said officials will "evaluate ways to amend our statute to maintain death as a penalty for this horrific crime."

Obama said he was outraged, too! But as president, he will nominate liberal activist judges... Just like the ones who made this decision.

My idea is this: When a child is raped, put the rapist in a room with all the child's male relatives and all the fathers and grandfathers from the child's neighborhood... Oh... For about an hour. Then, the Supreme Court can decide what happens to whatever is left.

Obama's Greatness

I've decided to list BO's qualifications and accomplishments. It won't take long.

1) He was raised abroad in his Mother's anti-American Leftist culture, and knows and appreciates little of America's culture and greatness.

2) He was educated by Leftist Universities.

3) He was elected to the Illinois legislature.

4) He was elected to the U.S. Senate and has served less than one term.

5) He was nominated for President by his Party.

Less than impressive... He has never run a business. He has never led in the armed services. He is hardly a legislative giant. His one talent or ability is that he speaks well when behind a tele-prompter.

Heaven help us!

Anyone that can embellish this list of accomplishments is welcome to chime in.
Obama's Religion and My Previous Post

I wasn't saying there was something sinister about Obama's "57 states"... Just that since there is a United Nations-related Muslim group of 57 states, that Obama might have made a simple mistake - and this might be the cause.

Whether this reflects on his religious heritage or sympathies is something we all must decide.

Based on his choice of Churches, his support of partial-birth abortion, his support of the radical homosexual agenda, and his belittling references to scripture... I doubt his Christianity. Based on these actions and opinions, he is more likely a devout Muslim - saying whatever lies will get him elected - than a devout Christian.

My guess? He is an atheist and former expatriate who cares nothing about America or her cultural heritage.

By Golly... It's True!

There are a group of 57 Islamic States.

From Wikipedia:

The Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It groups 57 Islamic member states, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America. The official languages of the organization are Arabic, English and French.

So, When Obama talked about visiting 57 states, maybe in the back of his mind he was thinking about the OIC.

Body All A' Achin' and Racked Wid Pain

Broadway Musical Lyrics for 100, Alex. What do you end up with after three sets of tennis?

Took the week off from work and blogging. This may last for the rest of the summer... Scant blogging... (I'll most likely go back to work.)

I've come to the conclusion that I just have nothing interesting or worthwhile to say... At least in the summer months.

The Black Female I Slept With

For eight wonderful years I slept with a black female named Helen. We were just friends. But though the relationship was platonic, this may be the only female that ever truly loved me.
Others have wanted me, but Helen loved me.
She wasn't biding her time until something better came along. She was committed.
Her commitment wasn't based on my performance or how much money I made. I wasn't her "gift machine." Just being with me made her happy.
She was eager to please and instantly forgave my mistakes.
My best girl.
I miss her.

Hell Doesn't Sell

Robert W Dale said of the famous 19th century preacher, "There is no one in this world I would want to hear preach about hell except Dwight L Moody because I have never heard Moody preach on it without breaking down in the middle and weeping."

I believe modern day preachers have been intimidated by the religious liberals and non-believers. Today, preaching about Hell is not cool... It's just not done... Makes you a Bible-thumper. Hellfire and brimstone sermons make you an "ineffective" fossil.

Somewhere church leaders became intimidated by the name-calling... And took the bait. They retooled the message to make it more palatable to the world... And they became Cool.

And I figure... "Cool" and "Lukewarm" are pretty much the same thing.

My Career in Mixed Martial Arts

It's on hold. I'm certainly physically intimidating enough, but I may be too old.

Have you seen this stuff? How far removed is it from the Roman Coliseum? Is it any wonder that we have high school girls fighting on YouTube?

Isn't it interesting to watch our culture consistently choose the path towards decay.

666

I got this brainstorm... Surely "The Anti-Christ" was born in June of 1966. 666, get it? It's so simple.

So I went to this site, but the only famous people born in June that year were Mike Tyson and John Cusack.

So never mind.
Nursery Rhymes in History

for June...

Mary Mary quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row.

The origins are steeped in history...The Mary alluded to in this traditional English nursery rhyme is Mary Tudor, or Bloody Mary, who was the daughter of King Henry VIII. Queen Mary was a staunch Catholic and the garden referred to is an allusion to graveyards which were increasing in size with those who dared to continue to adhere to the Protestant faith. The silver bells and cockle shells were colloquialisms for instruments of torture. The 'maids' were a device to behead people similar to the guillotine.

When I read the line - And pretty maids all in a row - I think of pecan pie. I don't know why.

Negro Bikers

You know, this President Obama thing may have some hidden perks. Oh sure... He'll destroy our economy, weaken the military in a time of war, and hasten America's cultural slide towards a Godless, immoral swamp... But let's look at the bright side, shall we?!

African Americans, AA's as we say in Greentown, often feel disenfranchised, neglected, and "disrespected"... which by the way - isn't a real word. They have a legitimate argument... And I feel for them... Especially the males. What a burden it must be to approach life always feeling you have something to prove... After all, AA's are every bit as competent and capable as other Americans, and the only thing impeding the progress of many is the Liberals' assigned excuses, possibly inducing a lack of self esteem and a dilution of impetus towards success.

But! When Obama is elected, every AA will automatically become "mainstream"... The rest of us will no longer feel we have to "walk on eggshells", worrying about saying the wrong thing... And I will be blessed by being able to write posts entitled "Negro Bikers" without offending anyone or being called a racist... Which I am not.

Yesterday I saw two Negro Bikers... Something you just don't see every day.

Something is in the air.

A "President Obama" just might finally end the "color game" that has been boring me since the 60's.

Maybe a "President Obama" will short circuit a long-endured malady.

Maybe my Christian brothers at Obama's Church will be freed at last to concentrate on our Lord... Rather than what they hate.

John Hagee - Christians for Israel

Because of Biblical prophecy, I do not worry about Israel. But I do worry about what will happen to the United States if she abandons Israel.

As America's spiritual offenses continue to pile up, I wonder what happens to a sin-embracing nation that becomes politically irrelevant to God's purposes.

Cheese and Body Weight

When I have a lot of cheese in my diet I find I carry more weight, and I believe it works like this: As far as I know, I have never been constipated in my entire life. To the contrary, I am so regular that it sometimes frightens me. It's not uncommon for me to sit and reminisce with an entree I consumed less that twelve hours before.

That said, cheese slows things down, causing my body to retain more entrees at any given time; thus, the added weight.

And, I'm reasonably certain that cheese changes the character and dimensions of my tidings.

Once when I was in the 4th grade, having been excused from class to empty my bladder, Danny Mohr, a 5th grader, came out of one of the stalls just beaming. "You gotta see this!" he said. And it was truly amazing... Not the length - but the girth of this monster. I remember there was some talk about whether it should be flushed - or saved for recess when the other boys could appreciate it. I mean... We've all heard fish stories.

Now years later, the cynic in me wonders if this zeppelin hadn't been left by one of the teachers or a much bigger boy... Danny wasn't that big a boy and for this amazing piece-o-poo to greet the world without the aid of some sort of rectal episiotomy stretches... well, the imagination. But I've never been one that harvested pleasure from running down amazing things... So I stand by my friend.

But my query is this: Could cheese have been the knitting that bound Danny's masterpiece?

If you would like to experiment with this at home, I suggest Baby Swiss.

Thank you.

More love from Obama's Church

"I'm Bill's wife, I'm white... Oh damn!...I'm entitled... A whole lot of white people crying..."

Fine. Obama's church doesn't like white people.

Got it.

He and his family sat through years of this?.... And he wants to be my President?

Powell and Rice seem less hatefilled...

Carter Leaks Data

Former President Jimmy Carter said Israel held at least 150 nuclear weapons, the first time a current or former American president had publicly acknowledged the Jewish state’s nuclear arsenal. Asked at a news conference in Wales on Sunday how a future president should deal with the Iranian nuclear threat, he sought to put the risk in context by listing atomic weapons held globally. “The U.S. has more than 12,000 nuclear weapons, the Soviet Union has about the same, Great Britain and France have several hundred, and Israel has 150 or more,” he said, according to a transcript. The existence of Israeli nuclear arms is widely assumed, but Israel has never admitted their existence and American officials have stuck to that line in public for years.

There is a reason why no current or former president discussed Israel's nuclear arsenal.
Once again Jimmy Carter's need for attention supersedes America's interests. But was it criminal or just dangerous?
Either way, on the Left it's forgiven... In fact it's in vogue.

Oswald Chambers Thought for the Day

We cannot save ourselves nor sanctify ourselves, God does all that; but God will not give us good habits, He will not give us character, He will not make us walk aright. We have to do all that ourselves, we have to work out the salvation God has worked in.

Reveille

God bless them all.

Malott's Italian Sub

I am not a brilliant man. I am not a brilliant medical technologist. But am I a brilliant cook?

Probably.

Because I'm gracious, kind, and reek of piety... I've decided to share my recipe for Italian Subs. I know... I know... You're welcome!

Ingredients:

1) Deli style sub buns
2) Shaved baked ham
3) Shaved salami
4) Contadina tomato paste w/ tomato pesto
5) Provolone cheese
6) McCormack's Italian seasoning

Listen closely: Open the sub bun - you may have to use a knife - toast under your broiler until light golden brown. (This keeps your sandwich from being soggy)
On the bottom bun half, spread tomato paste, add a thin layer of ham and a thin layer of salami, and place under the broiler (This half needs to toast a smidgen longer than the top.)
On the top bun half, place a layer of provolone, sprinkle on Italian seasoning, and place under broiler.
When it's done, place the halves together... And enjoy.

You can deviate from my ingredients and instructions... But understand this: You'll be screwing with perfection. And no one respects that.

Maria Chapman

Remembering Maria Sue

Steven Curtis Chapman, the Christian music artist, adopted three Chinese girls... Maria recently died in an accident. Her eyes remind me of a little girl I once held in my arms. I can't imagine the pain.

A part of God's perfect plan.

A glory we know, but a glory we must accept through faith.

Repenting of My Previous Post...

Tsofah,

I appreciate your sensitivities.

For years I have believed that Senator Kennedy is a very bad man. And while I would wish cancer on no one, for me to now collapse into a fit of concern and compassion would be disingenuous. We are all going to die... (I know I plan to...) and the Senator can afford to pass painlessly and peacefully.

Maybe we should pray that this illness would cause the Senator to publicly repent - and thus glorify G_d.

Maybe the Senator will publicly turn away from his support of abortion, the gay agenda, His efforts to separate G_d from our schools and our institutions... And maybe he will repent of his personal life style.

I believe G_d uses illness to bless people... By getting their attention off the world and onto Him.

Senator Kennedy has the opportunity to turn a lifetime of mistakes into a glorious witness. Maybe we should pray for that.

Ted Kennedy Diagnosed...

BOSTON - Sen. Edward Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor.

Doctors for the Massachusetts Democrat said Tuesday that preliminary biopsy results showed a malignant glioma in the left parietal-lobe. It was detected after Kennedy, 76, was airlifted to Boston on Saturday after having a seizure at his Cape Cod home.

It is reported that upon hearing the news, the executives at Chivas Regal wept.

It just doesn't make sense. A guy takes care of himself... Lives right... Avoids diving into the water late at night... And then this happens!

Get well Ted. You exemplify your ilk to comedic perfection... You are irreplaceable.

I Was Circumcised Behind My Back

After 46 years the Naked Truth Sees the Light of Day... Is Brought Out and Examined... Is Exposed... Displayed... Laid Bare... Uncovered... Unmasked... Unveiled... All That.

When my mother went into labor and they checked her out... They found that my umbilical cord was preceding me. Not good. With my oxygen supply cut off, I no doubt became indignant and began pounding my fists against the walls of my mother's uterus, demanding immediate action... Well maybe I did. Anyway, they rushed us to the delivery room.

I was born a blue baby... Breech... With a prolapsed cord. Then I got sick. In short, because of my general health - or lack thereof - they never got around to circumcising me.

Fast forward to the summer when I am seven years old. I develop a hernia that requires surgery. Unknown to me... My parents talk to the surgeon behind my back and arrange for me to be circumcised during my hernia surgery.

I was kept in the dark on this issue.

In the recovery room, at some point after the surgery I inadvertently knocked the bandage off my member... And my most vivid memory of that day is the sight of three nurses and my mother huddled over me as the nurses re-bandaged my John Thomas. And... My dad coming from around the corner, quickly developing an "OH MY GOD!" look on his face, and immediately disappearing.

Most tragedies are best illustrated in pictures... As they will be here. (No... no... no... I don't mean that.) Below is my first grade picture, taken about 10 months before the horror.

Notice the innocent look on my face... The trusting eyes. Notice the easy, carefree smile. Is this a normal and well-adjusted little man? Oh yes. Yes he is.

Now look at my second grade picture, about 2 months after my surgery.

Notice the vacant stare. Notice the forced smile. The picture reveals disillusionment and a new found cynicism. Even my hair is different, symbolically clipped and trimmed. This is a young man who trusts no one... Sadly, not even his parents.

Two years later I had knee surgery to repair a torn cartilage. Before going under the knife I had many long talks with my parents. I can assure you that details were discussed... And promises were made...

Hillary Creams Obama

It's just one win - and too late - for Mrs. Clinton... But by 41% ?!? Obama should get down on his knees... No, he should lie prostrate on the floor and thank God, or Allah, or whatever he actually worships... That West Virginia doesn't hold its primary in January.

And for all those Hillary voters in West Virginia I'd say this: If you want to have any influence on who your party nominates for the presidency... Move to Iowa.

I'm sure Obama sees the results from last night as the irrational ravings of uneducated, unsophisticated, Typical White People... But I don't think race is the issue... I don't think the Obomber is a weak candidate because he is half black.

Obama is weak because among his confidants he has a criminal, a racist, and a left-wing domestic terrorist... He's weak because he thinks it's uncool to wear an American Flag lapel pin... He's weak because this son a Muslim want to sit down and play knees-eeze with Muslim terrorists...

He's weak because he doesn't love his country in the same way as the young men and women who are lining up to die for her...

My Nephews

This is me with two thirds of my nephews... My sister's boys.

Yes I know... I should never wear shorts.

The nephew on the left is now a lawyer... The younger one is a school teacher and has a talk-radio show.

My third nephew, my brother's boy, is an excellent golfer... Something I can respect.

Some day in the future I plan to be dead... And I hope my nephews remember me as the fun uncle... The attentive uncle... The good uncle...

Not the uncle in this picture... The one wishing their mother would come and get them... And for pity's sake take them away!

F.Y.I.

Do you know the difference between a hurricane, a typhoon and a cyclone? Honolulu Community College Professor Richard Brill does.

The Caribbean Sea is the spawning ground for hurricanes in the Atlantic and eastern Pacific Oceans. They are called typhoons In the western Pacific and cyclones in the Indian Ocean, but the physics is the same.

A cyclone is any mass of air that spirals around a low pressure center. It is an organized collection of thunderstorms embedded in a swirling mass of air.

At the center of the spiral is the eye, a vertical tube of clear skies and calm winds; the more intense the storm, the smaller the eye.

Although the main upwards flow of air is around the eye, the entire air mass is unstable. Spiraling rows of thunderstorms with relatively clear areas between them extend outwards for up to two thousand miles from the center, gradually diminishing in intensity.

Obama Sees The Light

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama denounced ``ridiculous'' statements made by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, using his strongest language to date to distance himself from his former pastor.

Good. Now we can all vote for this Leftist.

Yes, after 20 years of attending the Black equivalent of a Klan rally, Barack Obama has determined that racial hatred is a bad thing.

Good, Barack! Real good!

You Need to Read This

Bryan Alexander discusses Obama's "empathy deficit."
George Will's Questions for Obama

1) You say John McCain is content to "watch [Americans'] home prices decline." So, government should prop up housing prices generally? How? Why? Were prices ideal before the bubble popped? How does a senator know ideal prices? Have you explained to young couples straining to buy their first house that declining prices are a misfortune?

2) During the ABC debate, you acknowledged that when the capital gains rate was dropped first to 20 percent, then to 15 percent, government revenues from the tax increased and they declined in the 1980s when it was increased to 28 percent. Nevertheless, you said you would consider raising the rate "for purposes of fairness." How does decreasing the government's financial resources and punishing investors promote fairness? Are you aware that 20 percent of taxpayers reporting capital gains in 2006 had incomes of less than $50,000?

3) Michelle, who was born in 1964, says that most Americans' lives have "gotten progressively worse since I was a little girl." Since 1960, real per capita income has increased 143 percent, life expectancy has increased by seven years, infant mortality has declined 74 percent, deaths from heart disease have been halved, childhood leukemia has stopped being a death sentence, depression has become a treatable disease, air and water pollution have been drastically reduced, the number of women earning a bachelor's degree has more than doubled, the rate of homeownership has increased 10.2 percent, the size of the average American home has doubled, the percentage of homes with air conditioning has risen from 12 to 77, the portion of Americans who own shares of stock has quintupled … Has your wife perhaps missed some pertinent developments in this country that she calls "just downright mean"?

4) Senator, concerning the criteria by which you will nominate judges, you said: "We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old." Such sensitivities might serve an admirable legislator, but what have they to do with judging? Should a judge side with whichever party in a controversy stirs his or her empathy? Is such personalization of the judicial function inimical to the rule of law?

Will has more questions, but these were my favorites. I suspect that these are more of the tough and unfair questions that Obama seeks to avoid by limiting further debates.

Kokomo - Through the Eyes of The New York Times
They had many pictures - I'm sure - to pick from...

Kokomo, Ind., a manufacturing city of 46,000 north of Indianapolis, is under a rare political spotlight as the state prepares for the May 6 primary.

Nice.

April 28, 2008

Question: Can you explain what you meant in a sermon shortly after 9/11 when you said the United States had brought the terrorist attacks on itself? Quote, “America’s chickens are coming home to roost.”

Rev. Wright: "...to quote the Bible, “Be not deceived. God is not mocked. For whatsoever you sow, that you also shall reap.” Jesus said, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you. Those are biblical principles, not Jeremiah Wright bombastic, divisive principles.

A Letter from John...

Yesterday I received a letter from my friend, John McCain.

Back in 2004 I sent $100 to the George Bush Campaign... And George and the Republican Party were so moved, that they've kept in touch ever since.

The letter from John was a sincere effort to gauge my feelings on several issues, a questionnaire with multiple choices... Proving beyond doubt - that in the hands of Conservatives, John is but putty, and lives to please us.

On most questions I could not find the best answer among the choices, so I had to scribble in "Illegal Aliens," "United Nations," "Global Warming Hoax..." Stuff like that.

On the last page I was perplexed to find a request for funds. Could this be the real reason for this correspondence? My choices were $25, $50, $100, $200, and "Other." I chose the latter and wrote a very large "zero" in red ink. Underneath I wrote, "Up Yours, You Insufferable RINO."

As I placed the postage-paid envelope into the mail... Did I feel buoyant, cleansed, and refreshed?

Oh yes. Yes I did.

Jerk...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican U.S. presidential candidate John McCain accused North Carolina's Republican Party of being "out of touch with reality" over its refusal to pull an advertisement criticizing Democrat Barack Obama.

John, you exasperating R.I.N.O. piece of crap and old coot...

Shut up.

It's not about you - and it's none of your business. The Republican Faithful in North Carolina are more loyal to your Party than you are... And they probably don't like you.

So just shut up.
Distractions

Real change has never been easy. . . . The status quo in Washington will fight. They will fight harder than ever to divide us and distract us with ads and attacks from now until November.
--Barack Obama

With that, Obama identified the new public enemy: the "distractions" foisted upon a pliable electorate by the malevolent forces of the status quo, i.e., those who might wish to see someone else become president next January. "It's easy to get caught up in the distractions and the silliness and the tit for tat that consumes our politics" and "trivializes the profound issues" that face our country, he warned sternly. These must be resisted.

Why? Because Obama understands that the real threat to his candidacy is less Hillary Clinton and John McCain than his own character and cultural attitudes. He came out of nowhere with his autobiography already written, then saw it embellished daily by the hagiographic coverage and kid-gloves questioning of a supine press.

Krauthammer is a genius: "... his own character and 'Cultural attitudes.'" Perfectly stated!

Then came the three amigos: Tony Rezko, the indicted fixer; Jeremiah Wright, the racist reverend; William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist. And then Obama's own anthropological observation that "bitter" working-class whites cling to guns and religion because they misapprehend their real class interests.

As people begin to learn about this just-arrived pretender, the magic dissipates. He spent six weeks in Pennsylvania. Outspent Hillary more than 2 to 1. Ran close to 10,000 television ads -- spending more than anyone in any race in the history of the state -- and lost by 10 points.

The Obamessiah is an empty suit... Just a pretty little man with pretty words... And a disappointing past.

If life were only a speech...
Chabad Synagogue in Miami Torched

Unknown individuals set fire to a Chabad synagogue in Miami Beach, Florida on Tuesday, burning the Torah books inside.

Ze'ev Katz, the synagogue's head rabbi, recounted the event on one of Chabad's internet websites, saying that a number of individuals broke into the empty synagogue, took the Torah books from the cabinet, tore them to pieces, and set them on fire.

The rabbis also said that the majority of anti-Semitic activity that takes place in the US is perpetrated by the Muslim community.

Riots and burning cars to follow?

Anna Karenina

Some guys like action movies... Some guys like horror films... Some guys like suspense while others like drama. For me, the greatest genre in film making is the Black Exploitation Film.

Blacula changed my life.

But that's not why I'm writing this.

Today I watched the 1948 version of Anna Karenina starring Vivien Leigh in the title roll. By the end of the movie I absolutely hated this woman and was begging her to cut her own throat. Turns out, she gets run over by a train. I was cheering for the train. I moved closer to the TV just to make sure she was dead.

I did some research and found that this movie has been made a number of times, suggesting that movie audiences have some sort of sick, never-ending appetite for annoying, shallow, self-centered, cheating, whining tarts. Along with Vivien Leigh, Karenina was also played by Claire Bloom, Jacqueline Bissett, Sophie Marceau... And... Greta Garbo - who I like very much... Probably because I've never seen her play Anna Karenina.

So if you want to watch an old movie, may I suggest Grand Hotel with Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, and the Barrymore brothers. Save Anna Karenina for the next time you have a sentimental longing for a root canal.

My Second Earthquake

This morning while sitting at my computer, my house began to shake as if a 60-70 mph gust of wind had struck it. It lasted a little less than 10 seconds, and was 5.3 on the Richter Scale.

...Probably wouldn't even have been reported in California?

My first earthquake was on a Sunday afternoon back in 1980 or '81. I was with my girlfriend and we didn't notice.

First Lady With A Bone To Pick

Michelle Obama is most famous for declaring, about her husband’s candidacy, that “for the first time in my adult lifetime I’m really proud of my country.” Just a throwaway line reflecting no more than the narcissism and self-absorption required to mount a presidential campaign in the 21st century? Well, possibly — were it not for the fact that almost every time the candidate’s wife speaks extemporaneously she seems to offer some bon mot consistent with that bleak assessment. Mark Steyn

I'm just not sure my delicate constitution can survive four years of being lectured by this woman about how much America sucks.

Her husband doesn't wear an American flag lapel pin, I assume, because he thinks America sucks, too.

Maybe they would both wear an American flag lapel pin if the following symbol was displayed on top of it.

Dumping Dan

My long-time conservative congressman Dan Burton has a Republican challenger this year in the primaries. As far as I know, the challenger is a good man who would represent Conservatives well in Washington.

As far as I know.

But we've seen so many men go to Washington and change. They talk like Hoosiers and Conservatives when they campaign, but all of a sudden in Washington they fall under the spell of the liberal media or Hollywood elites and they forget their promises.

My point is: Dan Burton has not.

In Washington he talks and votes the same way as he does on the campaign trail. He's been my Congressman for many years and he is yet to be "turned" by Washington.

Shall we reward him by turning him out? Shall we dump him because another attractive candidate - an unproven candidate - wants his job?

For me, this decision is a no-brainer. It's easy. Dan Burton has been loyal to us. We should be loyal to Dan.

From One Bitter, Benighted, Gun-Toting, Bible-Thumping, Xenophobic, Typical White Person to Another...

"It's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." Barack Obama

But what do you really think about us Barack?

This elitist thinks we're idiots... All because we won't become mesmerized by his pretty words and get behind his candidacy.

The fact is, Obama doesn't see America the way we see her... Doesn't love her in the same way we do. He can't look past her mistakes, her shortcomings, and embrace her past. He wants to change what has made her great for over 200 years. We think that would be a mistake.

So Barack, go ahead and look down your nose at us. We're strong, self-reliant, and independent. We don't need your approval.

And... We know who is really bitter.

Too Casual for Church?

Well it was that time of year again... Church directory photo Sunday. Yuck.

I can't tell you how much I despise having my picture pasted alongside all those happy families in the church directory... All those husbands and wives... In stark contrast to the loser single guy sitting there all alone for the camera.

But not this year! This year a single friend and I decided to have our picture taken together for the directory... So we wouldn't stand out. We'll have different last names, of course. It seemed like a great idea until afterwards when I worried that people in the church might think that she and I were living together. I mean, we're not even dating.

Knowing them, they'll probably be more upset about what we're wearing... She and I dress very casually for church. Usually, and especially on photo Sunday, the men wear dress shirts and ties and the women wear dresses.

I don't know, some people think wearing your "Sunday Best" shows respect for "Him" who the service is all about. But I think that falls under the category of "preference" and that people should wear what they want. I mean, if we can't be tolerant on this point...?

Anyway, I hope nobody gets upset that we had our picture taken together, and I hope our casual dress didn't offend any one. We meant no disrespect.

The photo turned out pretty good and I posted it below.

Ben Stein's "Expelled"

"Expelled" calls attention to the plight of highly credentialed scholars who have been forced out of prestigious academic positions because they proposed Intelligent Design as a possible alternative to Charles Darwin's 150-year-old theories about the origins of life.

Instead of entertaining a debate on the merits of competing theories, the scientific establishment has moved to suppress the ID movement in a "systematic and ruthless" way at odds with America's founding principles, the film asserts.Liberals have been going ape about "Expelled" for months as it has been screened around the country.

Liberals have been going ape about "Expelled" for months as it has been screened around the country.

If we are seeing this meltdown on the left even before "Expelled" officially opens, expect a Big Bang on April 18.

You've got to love this.

Barack Obama - Jedi Master

Olmert Gets it Right

Over at one of my favorite blogs, Skyepuppy wrote about how Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert won't be meeting with Jimmy Carter when the former president - and current embarrassment - travels to the middle east to meet with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal.

In those moments when I am not terribly filled with the Holy Spirit, I fantasize about Carter being kidnapped by these Hamas terrorists and filmed in his underwear while being forced to say outrageous things.

But I can't think of too many outrageous things that Carter hasn't already said.

Obama on Guns

Indeed, the first time I (John R Lott Jr) introduced myself to him he said “Oh, you are the gun guy.”

I responded, "Yes, I guess so." He simply responded that “I don’t believe that people should be able to own guns.”

This was from a conversation in the mid-90's. Barack evidently has read the Constitution since then because he has changed his tune now that he is running for president.

History Rewritten... My Way

Vice Presidential Debate 1988

Lloyd Benson: “Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy.”

Dan Quayle: Senator, I am not a war hero, and in no way am I as talented a politician as John Kennedy. But I promise here tonight that if I should ever be serving in the Oval Office and the Soviet Union attempts to build another wall in Europe... I will not sit Idly by... I'll stop them. And if another group of American-backed Cuban freedom fighters challenges Castro... I will not forsake them and allow their slaughter... I'll support them to victory. And thereby - standing strong against communism at every turn - the Soviets will not assume weakness on our part and risk so bold a venture as placing missiles in Cuba or any other country in the western hemisphere... And we will avert the unnecessary threat and crisis of an imminent thermonuclear war.

And Senator Benson, my daily agenda at the White House will never include entertaining beautiful women unchaperoned.

So I concur, Senator... I'm no Jack Kennedy. And, I thank you.

It would have been sweet.

Jimmy Carter to Meet With Terrorists

NEW YORK CITY — Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.

“It’s about par for the course from President Carter, demonstrating a lack of judgment typical of what he does," said John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. "To go to Syria to visit Hamas at this point is just an ill-timed, ill-advised decision on his part."

“I’m not surprised that Carter would do this, as he has been supporting Palestinian extremism for many years,” said Steve Emerson, director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, a watchdog group.

So does it take a Jew hater to embrace a Jew hater?

I'm glad Bolton is speaking up about Carter's over-stepping and under-cutting... But I'd love to see George "W" just let him have it. I know. It won't happen.

Ibrahim Hooper, communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a non-profit advocacy group, said Carter's efforts demonstrate he's a true partner in peace.

Hooper added that because of Carter's reputation among Palestinians he might be able to bring some pressure to bear.

Sure. The only pressure brought to bear will be upon the Israelis... And they need more pressure... Because the rockets and the suicide bombers just aren't getting the job done.

Ann Coulter Not Impressed with Obama Book

Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our next president: You might want to take a peek. If only people had read "Mein Kampf" ...

See what I mean? Ann doesn't like Obama's "Dreams From My Father."

Nearly every page -- save the ones dedicated to cataloguing the mundane details of his life -- is bristling with anger at some imputed racist incident.

If you can wade through Ann's sarcasm in the next paragraphs, you'll get a glimpse of an Obama that you don't see on the campaign trail.

Obama tells a story about taking two white friends from the high school basketball team to a "black party." Despite their deep-seated, unconscious hatred of blacks, the friends readily accepted. At the party, they managed not to scream the N-word, but instead "made some small talk, took a couple of the girls out on the dance floor."

But with his racial hair-trigger, Obama sensed the whites were not comfortable because "they kept smiling a lot." And then, in an incident reminiscent of the darkest days of the Jim Crow South ... they asked to leave after spending only about an hour at the party! It was practically an etiquette lynching!

In the car on the way home, one of the friends empathizes with Obama, saying: "You know, man, that really taught me something. I mean, I can see how it must be tough for you and Ray sometimes, at school parties ... being the only black guys and all."

And thus Obama felt the cruel lash of racism! He actually writes that his response to his friend's perfectly lovely remark was: "A part of me wanted to punch him right there."

Note: Barack could have written at this point that his white friend meant well, even if he said something awkwardly... But that probably wouldn't have played as well with the liberal and black community - and evidently wouldn't have represented Obama's feelings. In the matter of race, understanding goes only one way.

Wanting to punch his white friend in the stomach was the introductory anecdote to a full-page psychotic rant about living by "the white man's rules."

I do not understand why Obama was angry and wanted to punch out his friend, but I do see now how Obama could have sat through all those racist sentiments in Reverend Jeremiah Wright's sermons. Barack Obama has a chip on his shoulder. He wants his whites guilt-ridden and teary-eyed... And very cautious when they are around African Americans.

Sorry, not interested.

I'm sure it can be tough "being black." But it doesn't help the situation by making it tough "being white" - around blacks. It just perpetuates the problem... Which I suspect is the liberal politicians' intention.

Prodigal Republican

Haven't written much lately because I've been in a far country wasting my substance in riotous living. But then I came back home and Dad threw me a party...

(No wait... That wasn't me!)

Anyway, I was warming up to John McCain until last Friday when I saw that a conservative group had taken out a full-page ad in a newspaper warning McCain that he'd better not pick Mitt Romney as his running mate.

The group probably supported Mike Huckabee earlier this year... You remember Huckabee... The cute little populist and ego maniacal-Mormon-hater whose lip prints are indelibly etched upon John McCain's rear end.

Not a pretty picture.

My hiney, or derriere as we say in Greentown, is only 54 years old, but has lost much of its charm and glory... Sagging a bit more with the years... Suffering periodically with a little acne. But imagine McCain's aged, 71 year-old poop deck! Something to think about? This student of politics thinks so.

Anyway, if the former Huckabee supporters will stop expressing their call for unity by ripping Romney... I still may come around by November.

Behind the News

In his seven years, Randy Castro has been an aspiring soccer player, an accomplished Lego architect and a Royal Ranger at his Pentecostal church. He also, according to his elementary school record, sexually harassed a first-grade classmate.

During recess at his Woodbridge school one day in November, when he was 6, he said, he smacked the classmate's bottom. The girl told the teacher. The teacher took Randy to the principal, who told him such behavior was inappropriate. School officials wrote an incident report calling it "Sexual Touching Against Student, Offensive," which will remain on his student record permanently.

Then, as Randy sat in the principal's office, they called the police.

Slapping a female's buttocks... Is that wrong? I mean... I know you're not supposed to do it and leave your hand there... I hardly ever do that... But...

This really cuts down on my avenues of communication here at work!

As for this first grader, I'm just glad nobody overreacted.

Church of Oprah

I heard this on The Peter Heck Show.

Voltaire said that God created man in his own image, and then man returned the favor.

But obviously you first must reject Jesus... Which Oprah has done.

I'm not sure how much influence Oprah has. I know the Holy Spirit has more. And, I suspect the people who fall for this stuff would simply fall for something else if Oprah wasn't peddling it.

But Oprah definitely needs our prayers.

This is a Fake Picture
Darth Cheney vs Saint Obama

Gifts to Charity:

Obama <1%
Cheney 78%

According to The Peter Heck Show, The Cheneys made 8.8 million last year... Most of which was from investments and sales of Lynn Cheney's books. They gave away 6.9 million of that. That's a little over 78 per cent.

As I blogged earlier, Obama averaged less than 1% early in this decade... Though he has managed 5 and 6 percent in the last two years... Now that he's running for President. (How genuine!)

So the evil man that the Dems love to hate is far more generous than the Blessed Obama.

"Evil" should be made of sterner stuff.

Obama Didst Love The Poor So Much That He Gave...

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign....

How nice... And illustrative.

If only Obama was as generous with his own money... As he intends to be with mine.

I think of all those selfish, evil Christian Conservatives that give 10% and more.

But to be fair, perhaps Obama's spiritual advisor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was too busy preaching Liberation Theology (Socialism) and racism to squeeze in the part about tithing...
Millenials...

According to this article, those Americans between 21 and 29 are - brimming with adultlike respect for American institutions, family values and work ethics, despite a few quirks.

Among the findings: 94 percent said they respect monogamy and parenthood, while 84 percent revere marriage. Eighty-eight percent respect the U.S. Constitution, 84 percent respect the military and more than three-fourths believed in the proverbial "American dream." Fewer than one in four, however, said they have any admiration for Hollywood.

"We were completely surprised. There has been a faulty portrayal of millennials by the media — television, films, news, blogs, everything. These people are not the self-entitled, coddled slackers they're made out to be. Misnomers and myths about them are all over the place," said Ann Mack, who directed the survey and is the official "director of trend-spotting" at the agency.

"Their opinions of monogamy and marriage are products of the era they grew up in, a reaction against a reality-TV world or their unstable childhoods. They are more traditional in their views because they want something better for their own families," Ms. Mack said.

Well this certainly must be galling to Hollywood and the mainstream media!

Good.

Frances Jane Crosby

Warning: This is yet another "When I was a little boy story."

When I was a little boy - sitting bored in Church - I played a game in which I went from page to page in the hymnal looking for the songs whose lyrics were penned by Fanny J Crosby. I never had to turn many pages to find one.

Fanny Crosby was probably the most prolific hymnist in history. Though blinded by an incompetent doctor at six weeks of age, she wrote over 8,000 hymns. About her blindness, she said:

"It seemed intended by the blessed providence of God that I should be blind all my life, and I thank him for the dispensation. If perfect earthly sight were offered me tomorrow I would not accept it. I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God if I had been distracted by the beautiful and interesting things about me."

In her lifetime, Fanny Crosby was one of the best known women in the United States. To this day, the vast majority of American hymnals contain her work.

This past Monday was her birthday - she turned 188 years old. I meant to send her a card.
::::::::::::::::::
My favorite:
All the way my Savior leads me;
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

Huckabee Says "Cut Jeremiah Wright Some Slack"

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who won Tennesee’s Republican primary, said that Americans should remember the South’s segregated past before judging the Rev. Jeremiah Wright too harshly.

Huckabee loves "All God's Children"... as long as they aren't Mormon.

Jackson Browne - Rock Me on the Water

"How long have I been sleeping,
How long have I been drifting alone through the night?
How long have I been running for that morning flight,
Through the whispered promises and the changing light,
Of the bed where we both lie,
Late for the sky."

When I was in college, many of the smart, sensitive girls were big fans of Jackson Browne. I know this, though I spent more time with the shallow bimbos, where I enjoyed more success. The smart girls usually weren't interested in me because they were... well... smart.

Anyway, no one wrote lyrics like Jackson Browne. Here are some samples:

"Everyone I've ever known has wished me well,
Anyway that's how it seems - it's hard to tell,
Maybe people only ask you how you're doing,
Because that's easier than letting on how little they could care.
But when you know you have a real friend somewhere,
Suddenly all the others are so much easier to bear."

"It's like you're standing in the window,
Of a house nobody lives in,
And I'm sitting in a car across the way.
Let's just say it's an early model Chevrolet,
Let's just say it's a warm and windy day.
You go and pack your sorrow,
The trash man comes tomorrow.
Leave it at the curb,
And we'll just drive away."

"If you need me, like I know I need you,
There's just the one thing I'll ask you to do,
Take my hand and lead me,
To the hole in your garden wall,
And pull me through."

"Now we're lying here,
So safe in the ruins of our pleasure,
Laughter marks the place where we have fallen."

And my personal favorite...

"You could be laughing at me,
You've got the right,
But you go on smiling..."

Barack Explains It All

In what has been called the greatest speech ever delivered on the subject of race (forgive them MLK for they know not what they do) Barack Obama forever tarred his white grandma when he described her as:
"a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."

This woman - by the way - is still around to hear these comments. Nice.

Anyway, Barack was asked about the comment and he answered by saying:
"The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. But she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know. . .there's a reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way."

"Typical white person." Does that not sound exactly like something Obama's preacher, Jeremiah Wright, would say?

We need to keep this guy talking!

Humility

The real test of the saint is not preaching the gospel, but washing disciples' feet, that is, doing the things that do not count in the actual estimate of men but count everything in the estimate of G_d.

Oswald Chambers

I honestly believe that we are clueless as to what is really going on around us. Most of my day I remain "in character," but as I get older I find my eyes drifting from the stage, seeking the reassuring face of the Director.

Malott Leaves WMTT

Yes, I just wanted to officially announce that I have left the White Medical Technologists for Truth organization because I believe that any group that identifies itself with a race of people is by definition racist. Of course I left the National Association for the Advancement of White People years ago, though I found leaving the White Tigers later that year more painful. And just to be consistent, I haven't bought white bread since 1982. I will not purchase White Cloud Bathroom Tissue... Will not eat white fish... Will not drink white wine... Will not participate at Church in the singing of the hymn Whiter Than Snow.

And about my Church... While it's true that for the past twenty years I've sat through many sermons which stressed the importance of water baptism, I personally do not, nor have I ever believed that you must be baptized to be obedient to God. I believe you must be tattooed. Preferably with the name of an apostle. One of the big ones. Like Peter. Not Simon the Zealot or Thaddeus.

But anyway, I will not be a member of any organization with any white in it.

But The Association of Black Journalists, The House of Representatives' Black Caucus, The Black Nurses Association, The Association of Black Accountants, The National Black Police Association, The National Black Business Trade Association, The Association of Black Telecommunications Professionals, The Association of Black Cardiologists, The Association of Black Social Workers, The National Black Law Students Association, The Black Native American Association (I have no idea either)... They're all OK.

Kindness

I read a great story by one of my favorite writer/blogger friends - Bekah - and it reminded me of a story I've wanted to relate for some time.

I have a friend who was a publicist for Eagles singer-songwriter Don Henley, and who helped organize Henley's "Walden Woods" environmental project and yearly "rally."

Super-model Christi Brinkley was one of the celebrity guests one year and it was my friend's job to assign people to escort the celebrities through the festivities. My friend assigned a very bright, but very unattractive girl to assist Brinkley. As soon as my friend had done this, she began fretting that the girl might be uncomfortable accompanying, and being seen next to, such a beautiful woman.

After the rally my friend caught up with the girl and asked her how it went. The girl excitedly told my friend that the first thing Christi Brinkley did was complement her on her earrings and say how good they looked on her. She said Brinkley was among the nicest people she'd ever met and really enjoyed her time with her.

I love telling this story because... Instead of laughing up her sleeve at this girl... Instead of seeing an inferior human specimen... Brinkley saw a sensitive girl and quickly searched for something positive and encouraging to say.

As we get older... More successful... Less insecure...More comfortable in our shoes... I think we tend to be less fixated on our own reflection and more tuned to the needs and insecurities of others.

At work I try to be respectful of everyone. But I confess that I delight in being no respecter of persons. And, in a small hospital, this attitude creates a few minor waves. Doctors have amazingly large egos. Administration and managerial personnel seek constant stroking. Even nurses with associates degrees have illusions of goddesshood. And all of them rural enough to be moderately insecure...

Heaven.

I've found that I can say almost anything if I smile and feign innocense. And the props beneath these people are so fragile. And, having your own drummer affords more than simple entertainment value. People still mess with you... But they are more careful and cautious when they mess with you.

But back to topic.

I try to know the names of my colleagues at work. But I make a much bigger effort to know the name of every person in housekeeping, in the laundry, and in food services... And I call them by name. I've observed over the years that when people serve you and clean up after you, it is so easy to treat them as less - and generally - marginalize them. When I see that happening, it ticks me off.

Anyway, I challenge you to find in your workplace the shy... The young and unattractive... The marginalized soul stuck in the menial job... And give them your attention.

Victim Obama

Obama suggested that more and more is being made of racial divisions as his contest with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton heats up.

"I noticed over the last several weeks that the forces of division have started to raise their ugly heads again. And I'm not here to cast blame or point fingers because everybody, you know, senses that there's been this shift," Obama said.

"It reminds me: We've got a tragic history when it comes to race in this country. We've got a lot of pent-up anger and bitterness and misunderstanding. ... This country wants to move beyond these kinds of things."

I wonder if this kind of whining will work against Al Qada and North Korea.

Obama Throws Minister Under Church Bus

Obama did not clarify whether Wright volunteered to leave his African American Religious Leadership Committee, a loose group of supporters associated with the campaign, or whether the campaign asked him to leave.

Let us all take a moment and guess.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., condemned racially charged sermons by his former pastor Friday and urged Americans not to reject his presidential campaign because of “guilt by association.”

He can urge all he wants, but it's obvious to any reasonable person that Barack has emotional ties with this racist, hate monger - which suggests he is sympathetic to his views. I wouldn't sit through the sermons of a racist white minister for 20 years... I know a couple guys who would, but they shouldn't be president either.

I listen to this minister rant and it's obvious to me than he wouldn't like me because of the color of my skin. (I am a little pasty - especially this time of year.)

Anyway, Barack has made his minister go bye bye. My sources tell me that friends of Michelle Obama have cautioned her to keep her controversial statements to herself.

Obama's Preacher Says God Damn America

And Obama has attended this Church for 20 years?

Why?

Most people find a church where they agree with what is being taught... Where they are inspired by the preaching.

You've got to dislike this country and its white people - to enjoy this kind of preaching.

Heart Cath in Brief:

1) Friday - Heart cath in Indy. I try to post "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," but it doesn't appear until Tuesday.

2) Tuesday - Another heart cath in Indy with the insertion of a stent.

3) Wednesday - On the trip home I'm driving my parent's car with Mom beside me and Dad in the back seat. Halfway between Kokomo and home, my mother loses her ability to speak. I rush her to a hospital in Kokomo where she slowly recovers her ability to express herself. A mini-stroke. They keep her overnight and run some tests.

4) Today I got her all the way home. She seems Ok, but a little overwhelmed.

I don't know what the Lord is doing. Maybe he is just getting her attention. Maybe He has made plans, and is polishing her up a bit. If he is getting ready to take her home, I pray He takes her gently.

When I was rushing my Mom to the hospital - their car travelling much faster than it's used to - I held Mom's hand and spoke comforting and encouraging words... Something I learned from her.

Loading Toilet Tissue

Haven't blogged much lately. Been studying my navel... Takes all my time.

But there is a confession I must make that is long overdue: If I use a public restroom, or the restroom in someone else's house... Whether it's family, friend, or stranger... And if the toilet paper rolls out from the bottom and not from over the top... I change it.

Oh sure, a well adjusted man would just mind his own business... But I figure - The poor souls probably don't know any better. Besides, how can anyone be happy living like that?

So if I should happen to visit your home, you could save me some time in the toilet by following the helpful diagrams below.

Correct:

There will be an exam on Friday.

10,000 BC

I want to see this movie. For one thing, look how the women looked 12,000 years ago. Very nice. Did they smell as good as they looked? This movie-goer would like to think so.

Also, the movie uses "B.C." - Before Christ, instead of "B.C.E." - Before Common Era... And I like that. I think the entire Church should get out and support this movie for that very reason!
The use of B.C. simply has to irk the ACLU... And perpetrated by their friends in Hollywood? What a shocking lack of political correctness and support.

I also dislike the use of "C.E." - Common Era, instead of "A.D."... Which I grew up thinking stood for "After Death." It Actually stands for "Anno Domini"... Or "Anno Domini Nostri Lesu Christi," as we say in Greentown.

I think the entire Church should get out and support the use of "In the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 2008" when filling out various forms of every kind that require the date... Even if we have to write really, really small.

A Canadian site called Religious Tolerance dot Org says that "Christian" can always be substituted for "Common"... Yielding "Before Christian Era" and "Christian Era"... Which is just fine with me. However their site also has articles on Wiccans and Nudists, so I'm not sure we can take them seriously.
