Ann Coulter Not Impressed with Obama Book

Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our next president: You might want to take a peek. If only people had read "Mein Kampf" ...

See what I mean? Ann doesn't like Obama's "Dreams From My Father."

Nearly every page -- save the ones dedicated to cataloguing the mundane details of his life -- is bristling with anger at some imputed racist incident.

If you can wade through Ann's sarcasm in the next paragraphs, you'll get a glimpse of an Obama that you don't see on the campaign trail.

Obama tells a story about taking two white friends from the high school basketball team to a "black party." Despite their deep-seated, unconscious hatred of blacks, the friends readily accepted. At the party, they managed not to scream the N-word, but instead "made some small talk, took a couple of the girls out on the dance floor."

But with his racial hair-trigger, Obama sensed the whites were not comfortable because "they kept smiling a lot." And then, in an incident reminiscent of the darkest days of the Jim Crow South ... they asked to leave after spending only about an hour at the party! It was practically an etiquette lynching!

In the car on the way home, one of the friends empathizes with Obama, saying: "You know, man, that really taught me something. I mean, I can see how it must be tough for you and Ray sometimes, at school parties ... being the only black guys and all."

And thus Obama felt the cruel lash of racism! He actually writes that his response to his friend's perfectly lovely remark was: "A part of me wanted to punch him right there."

Note: Barack could have written at this point that his white friend meant well, even if he said something awkwardly... But that probably wouldn't have played as well with the liberal and black community - and evidently wouldn't have represented Obama's feelings. In the matter of race, understanding goes only one way.

Wanting to punch his white friend in the stomach was the introductory anecdote to a full-page psychotic rant about living by "the white man's rules."

I do not understand why Obama was angry and wanted to punch out his friend, but I do see now how Obama could have sat through all those racist sentiments in Reverend Jeremiah Wright's sermons. Barack Obama has a chip on his shoulder. He wants his whites guilt-ridden and teary-eyed... And very cautious when they are around African Americans.

Sorry, not interested.

I'm sure it can be tough "being black." But it doesn't help the situation by making it tough "being white" - around blacks. It just perpetuates the problem... Which I suspect is the liberal politicians' intention.

Okay, I admit, I don't get it.

Isn't Obama of mixed race? I know his grandmother is white. Isn't his mom white too?

Where does all this racism and anger against whites stem from? How can you be angry with a race that makes up half of your gene pool?

Obama did not suffer for being black. It sounds to me like he had a pretty privileged upbringing. Anger like this can only come from indoctrination.

I have a strong suspicion that "Pastor" Jeremiah Wright has been a mentor to Obama in all things spiritual and racial. Obama just doesn't think we're smart enough to realize that.

Christina,

But is it indoctrination into the black experience, or is it simply indoctrination into liberal racial politics? Is it a sincere concern or is it all about acquiring power?

I don't know who this guy really is... But if he is sincere in his writings, he has a problem.

Christina,

A conversation I (and others) had with a Colored girl from South Africa during the Apartheid era made me realize that in some ways America is worse about race than Apartheid was. Under Apartheid, there were four classifications of race, from top to bottom: White, Colored (Black or Asian with some White in there too), Asian (from the Indian subcontinent), Black. Just the presence of any White blood elevated a person way above the status of the non-Whites.

But in America it's the opposite. Just the visible presence of black ancestry lowers a person's status to black. It's the features we see that tell us a person's race, so if Obama looks like a black guy, he gets treated like a black guy, and that can put a chip on a guy's shoulder.

I'd be willing to bet that most blacks in America (except recent immigrants from Africa) have white ancestry as well. We just don't see it.

Why did Obama invite those two white guys to the party in the first place? Was he hoping they'd do something stupid and get the white crap beat out of them? If their being nice was enough to make Obama want to slug them, then what was the point?

Obama's just a jerk.

Indoctrination, Christina, is absolutely correct. In his search for an identity he found Wright, rather he was told that going to a black church would give him street "cred" among those in Chicago he was trying to help.

"It might help your mission if you had a church home," he told Obama. "It doesn't matter where, really. What you're asking from pastors requires us to set aside some of our more priestly concerns in favor of prophesy. That requires a good deal of faith on our part. It makes us want to know just where you're getting yours from."

Skyepuppy,

Perhaps a jerk... but a calculating jerk. Always calculating.

Janice,
