Washington-- It is rumored that Barack Obama has sought and secured the endorsement of former Secretary of State Colon Powell. If true, the Obama Campaign may redouble efforts to bring aboard Bud "Sphincter" Samuels, creating a possible domino effect which will coax political heavyweights Rectum Johnson and Betty Anus into the fold.
The McCain Camp may claim that their earlier endorsements by Frank Butts and Larry Sigmoid adequately balance this latest movement, but an anonymous source deep inside the campaign admitted to Malott's Blog, "This is a heavy load whose ramifications we're just beginning to digest. Obviously it has impacted us, and we are just beginning to feel the strain."
(Yes, I know it's "Colin." Leave me alone.)

Like most Americans, the Olympics have completely absorbed and captured my attention. I can think of little else. The color... The pageantry... All those warm and welcoming Japanese people.
I haven't gotten to watch any of it yet, but I have arranged to be off work the week of August 25th - and will be glued to my TV set all that week screaming USA... USA! But that's just the kind of Olympic enthusiast I am.
While Russia's invasion of Georgia is troubling, it has given Barack Obama the opportunity to premiere his foreign policy expertise.
In a nutshell: It’s both sides’ fault — both have been somewhat provocative with each other.
I personally would like to get Obama's take on the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939.
John Hinderaker from Powerline put it best:
It is often said that Obama is not ready to be President, but I don't think this is exactly right. It seems pretty obvious that Obama, given his temperament, his self-regard, his blithe ignorance of history and of the material conditions of life on this planet, will never be ready to be President. He is not unready: he is unsuited for, and inadequate to, the office.

I hope every one of my faithful visitors has discovered http://www.biblegateway.com/
And has added the site to their "favorites."
You can pull up any scripture and check it out in any translation, be it NIV, KJV, 21st century KJV... or any other... It is a great resource.
Also see: http://www.crosswalk.com/ and check out their morning devotions. I also recommend: http://www.myutmost.org/
Get up early... Read... And get on your knees... If you are serious about your future.
Time is an artificial and fleeting thing.

Ribbons on Sticks
I suppose I have Olympic Fever just like everyone else. I haven't watched any of it yet, but that's just because I don't really get emotionally involved until the little girls come out with Ribbons on Sticks. Oh you can keep your baseball and your hockey because what really gets my heart to pumpin' is the NFL, College Basketball, and those little girls with ribbons on sticks.
Now I've seen Michael Jordan dunk a basketball and I've seen Jerry Rice practically levitate as he stretched out to catch a football. But many of the great and more celebrated athletes pale and lose their mystique once you've seen those little girls with ribbons on sticks. Such grace... such grit... such a long ribbon.
Are they in the winter games or do they play in the summer? Anyway whenever they're on I'll be there with my popcorn and Pepsi glued to my TV set, getting all excited, flushed with tension, and cheering like a madman for those little girls with ribbons on sticks.

(No, really!)
I'm thinking we need some sort of governmental agency whose task it is to review and approve names. I mean... Ralphetta? No little girl deserves that.
The agency should also approve spelling and accepted pronunciation. (Brett) Favre should be pronounced "fav ruh", not "farv." A little boy should never be named "Mathew"... But rather "Matthew", regardless of the intelligence level of his inbred mother.
A little girl should never be named "Loveankisses." (Yep... She exists.)
Also, certain first and last names should not be allowed to coexist. I know of a man named Turly Curd... a nightmare scenario for dyslexics everywhere.
So please leave in comments your worst name experiences... And if you have good name for the govt. agency... I'll take that, too.

I never saw John Edwards stand at a lectern and claim that he was a saint. I always thought of Edwards as a good Democrat who represented well the morals and values of his Party, and the people who vote for his Party's nominees.
I still do.
The Republican Party still gives lip service to the moral issues of our day. Though inconsistent, they are generally pro-life, and on occasion stand in the way of the gay agenda. There are a few honorable, even Godly Republicans in office, but in general they represent very poorly the people who vote for them.
You can't say that of John Edwards.
When Democrats stood with women who sought the right to kill full-term infants through partial birth abortion... Edwards stood with them. Edwards supports the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act... As he stands with the Gay lobby.
Everything on God's green earth reduces to a core struggle between good and evil. Everything... Including politics. If during his confession Edwards had looked to the heavens, raised his voice and cried, "Lord, against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight..." He would have betrayed the values, goals, and moorings of the Democrat Party.
John Edwards is a good Democrat.

I just watched Created Cosmos, A Creation Museum Planetarium Show.
Stunning.
I received it free from Fort Patriot.com for answering The Weekly Trivia Challenge correctly... In association with The Peter Heck Show.
My education leaves me a little more impressed with my own little universe of several trillion human cells, which allow me to reason and conclude that - there is no logical reason... No logical source... For the existence of an eternal, physical universe of matter and energy... Governed by physical laws... Measured in time... And I have to question the seeming reality of it all. It really makes no sense...
But for a Creator... That created time and physical space... Whose world is not limited by such physical and measured trappings.
So for a few moments... Before the world comes rushing in... I'll bathe my thoughts... Not in the mundane and little distractions that govern far too much of my life... But in the glory of a God who holds the universe and my pathetic little soul in His hands.
How fleeting these lucid moments are!

"I love all religions. ... If people become better Hindus, better Muslims, better Buddhists by our acts of love, then there is something else growing there."
"All is God -- Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, etc., all have access to the same God."
"We never try to convert those who receive [aid from Missionaries of Charity] to Christianity but in our work we bear witness to the love of God's presence and if Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, or agnostics become for this better men -- simply better -- we will be satisfied. It matters to the individual what church he belongs to. If that individual thinks and believes that this is the only way to God for her or him, this is the way God comes into their life -- his life. If he does not know any other way and if he has no doubt so that he does not need to search then this is his way to salvation."
Before I comment, I just want to say how hypocritical I feel critiquing someone who definitely "laid down her life" in service to God... A spiritual manifestation of which my life is a pathetic example. This woman was an incredible person of self-sacrifice.
Still, I have to ask, where is the Christian love in caring for the poor... If the saving truth is withheld from them? No one comes to the Father except through Jesus. I believe there is no eternal gravity or substance in charity that operates independent of the gospel.
Mother Theresa's works are a stirring testimony to the love of Christ... But the quotations above miss the deeper reality: The eternal healing... The salvation that comes only through a relationship with Jesus.
This celebrated woman is perhaps the greatest humanitarian that ever lived... And surely she knew, in spite of these quotes, that her service to mankind was filthy rags... If performed independent of the Father's sacrifice.
"Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you." Matthew 7:22-23
In spite of these quotes, I choose to believe that Mother Theresa's beneficiaries were led to look at the Source of her amazing service.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV
All mankind, both evil and good, equally performs and teeters on the same precipice... But for one name... Jesus.

Workers at the Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Shelbyville will no longer have a paid day off on Labor Day but will instead be granted the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr.
Union leaders said implementing the holiday was important for the nearly 700 Muslims, many of them Somalis, who work at the plant that employs a total of 1,200 people.
Former employee and Shelbyville resident Anthony Proctor said he thinks what's happening is wrong.
He said he helped build a special Muslim prayer room that's located inside the plant and that no other Tyson facility has been that accommodating for any other religion.
The obvious first mistake? ... The Muslim prayer room.

From the Huffing and Puffing Huffington Post:
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Friday he would be willing to support limited additional offshore oil drilling if that's what it takes to enact a comprehensive policy to foster fuel-efficient autos and develop alternate energy sources.
Republican rival John McCain, who earlier dropped his opposition to offshore drilling, has been criticizing Obama on the stump and in broadcast ads for clinging to his opposition as gasoline prices topped $4 a gallon. Polls indicate these attacks have helped McCain gain ground on Obama.
But a Daily Kos commenter has it figured out:
Please give Obama the benefit of the doubt. Off Shore oil drilling is polling at over 70%. We have a much better chance of it not happening if Obama wins.
How true.

Actually, I don't have those results. Are these public records?
After a fatal plane crash the pilot is always autopsied and there is always a drug test. The three victims of this particular tragedy were processed in about four hours. Was a drug test done on JFK Jr. or his wife Carolyn? Do these rules not apply to Kennedys?
Biographer Edward Klein writes, "We don't know for certain why the burial at sea was so rushed, but we can assume the Kennedys did not want to have any publicity regarding the autopsy reports, for fear that the reports might have revealed some illegal substance in the bloodstreams of John and Carolyn Bessette."
In his book Forever Young: My Friendship With John F Kennedy Jr., William Noonan writes about John's fondness for smoking marijuana.
The public has the right to know if Kennedy died while rolling a fatty.
In his book The Kennedy Curse: Why Tragedy Has Haunted America's First Family for 150 Years, Edward Klein states, "John once returned to their loft to find Carolyn sprawled on the floor disheveled and hollow-eyed, snorting cocaine with a gaggle of gay fashionistas."
Klein also reports a story told him by a staffer at George magazine who had dinner with Carolyn one evening:
"She made at least a half-dozen trips to the bathroom and came back to the table with white rings around her nostrils," the staffer is quoted as saying.
It occurs to me that here was a couple whose remains were begging for a little drug testing. But when your family has power and has been skirting the law for decades, I'm sure information is easily manipulated and manufactured to produce the desired results... And the almost immediate cremation and burial at sea safely insures Kennedy's reputation for all time.
Too soon? Sorry...
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama, the first black candidate with a shot at winning the White House, says John McCain and his Republican allies will try to scare them by saying Obama "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."
John McCain is obviously a typical white person. Obama obviously has a problem with typical white people. Maybe Barry is simply a racist... Like his preacher. He certainly talks about race a lot and accuses people - that don't want him elected - of being racists.
I don't want him elected because he is wrong on energy... Wrong on the war... Wrong on judges... Wrong on taxes... And if he was whiter than June Cleaver he would still be the wrong man for the job.
But when Obama suggests that people like me won't vote for him because he's black... Then he presents me with yet another reason not to vote for him: He is a race-obsessed A-hole.
In his closed door meeting with House Democrats Tuesday night, presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama delivered a real zinger, according to a witness, suggesting that he was beginning to believe his own hype.
Obama was waxing lyrical about last week's trip to Europe, when he concluded, according to the meeting attendee, "this is the moment, as Nancy [Pelosi] noted, that the world is waiting for."
No tape of the event exists and no one is denying the quote.
But one leadership aide said the full quote put it into a different context. According to that aide, Obama said, "It has become increasingly clear in my travel, the campaign -- that the crowds, the enthusiasm, 200,000 people in Berlin, is not about me at all. It's about America. I have just become a symbol."
How many times has Barack or one of his apostles said something outrageous, which was immediately followed by a, "What he really meant was..."
I found this story at washingtonpost.com, and in the comment section an outraged liberal wrote, "I can't believe that Fox Freakin' News has taken over the Washington Post!"
(I must pause for a moment and say parenthetically - thus the parenthesis - that I would love it if the most-watched cable news organization changed its name to "The Fox Freakin' News Channel.")
While it is shocking that a Washington Post employee would suggest that Obama is a bit full of himself, I think we can all be thankful that the journalist avoided using the word "uppity."

The ignorance and lazy complacency of the American people play directly into the hands of the liberal press in this country.
For instance, the media prefers to keep the public in the dark about the John Edwards "Love Child" scandal because he is a liberal Democrat. The American people waddle along, happily ignorant... As this Rasmussen Poll about Vice Presidential preferences reveals:
A new Rasmussen Reports national survey finds that 56% have at least a somewhat favorable opinion of former North Carolina Senator John Edwards, including 21% who view him Very favorably. He slightly edges Senator Hillary Clinton, who is viewed at least somewhat favorably by 51%, with 27% characterizing their view of her as Very Favorable.
56%... Amazing. Maybe 1/3 of the country is hard-core Democrat... The kind that cares nothing of a man's character, as long as he is sufficiently liberal and has a D by his name. But much of this 56% is made possible by the willing, biased accomplices in the mainstream media.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Authorities on Monday said the man charged with murder in a Tennessee church shooting left a four-page letter that detailed his frustration at being unemployed, his hatred of gays and liberals, and his expectation that he would be killed by responding police.
The church, like many other Unitarian Universalist churches, promotes progressive social work, such as desegregation and fighting for the rights of women and gays. The Knoxville congregation has provided sanctuary for political refugees, fed the homeless and founded a chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, according to its Web site.
They founded a chapter of the ACLU and fought for the rights of gays? What sort of New Testament Church is that? Hmm... Maybe they told the Gays to "Go, and sin no more."
Maybe.
I undertand a brave man stood between the nut and the congregation and sacrificed himself... Saving many.
Greater love hath no man than this.

Barack Obama had plans to visit our wounded soldiers at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, but the military told him that he would not be allowed to bring any of his campaign staff — only one Senate staffer and security. So Obama cancelled the trip.
How revealing is that?
If Obama had a deep and abiding respect for the young men and women who volunteer to protect this country, there would be - nothing - that could have kept him from visiting with these wounded warriors... All by himself. No cameras. No microphones. Just him visiting and thanking these young people that sacrificed so much.
Politically... It was a stupid decision. But it definitely reveals another piece of the puzzle... And gives us further clues as to who this guy really is.

I'm praying for a cold September and a very cold October. One month or two before the November elections it would be good for Americans to form a connection in their minds between the Democrats' stubborn refusal to expand domestic oil and natural gas drilling - and the hefty price involved in heating their homes.
That would be very good.
The Democrats and their environmentalist friends can presently hide behind words of pipe dream windmills and alternative fuels... Buoyed by the support of their accomplices in the mainstream media... But winter is coming.
The American people are foolish, lazy, and ignorant... But they understand heating bills. They understand being cold.
Winter is coming.

With husband John at her side, Elizabeth Edwards announced the return of her cancer in March, 2007. Rielle Hunter became pregnant in May or June of 2007. NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporter Alan Butterfield reports that John Edwards met with Ms. Hunter last Monday in a hotel room:
I really haven't heard anything about this in the mainstream media. I remember hearing about allegations in the New York Times that John McCain was having an affair... But McCain is a Republican... And was therefore asking for it! Obviously the National Enquirer is less concerned with propping up the Dems.
Anyway, I'm not sure what John was thinking when he decided to meet with this woman. But I'm sure he wasn't thinking about his sick wife and his children.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit." Matthew 5:3
1) The economically poor are blessed. How are they blessed? Their spirits are blessed, or they are spiritually blessed, or their spirit is heightened.
2) The spiritually poor are blessed... Those lacking in spiritual characteristics, works, or evidences.
3) Those lacking spirit, the depressed... Are blessed.
4) Those lacking spiritual confidence... Those with a deep sense of spiritual futility... Are blessed.
5) None of the above.

Or
How I Deal Daily With Penis Envy
The life of a hospital laboratory technician is not always the sexy and glamorous experience one would suppose. There is plasma, and pee pee, and poo (oh my!).
And when you are male... There is the inevitable mental cruelty, physical abuse, and sexual harrassment... The ugly side of healthcare. Where I work the women sometimes line the hallways, and as I walk by, make crude remarks, paw at me, or pinch my buttocks. (In next week's installment I'll be posting police photos of my black and blue marks.) Imagine my shame.
You say, "Malott! Why don't you just quit?"
Oh sure, quitting would be the easy way. But I have lives to save, my friend. And come Monday morning, I'll once again will be up to my elbows in body fluids and semi-fluids and maybe even some green stuff with pus on it.
And... Loving it.
Cluelessness Caught on Tape
I'd have more respect for Obama if he possessed the personal honesty and humility required to simply admit he was wrong about "The Surge."
It's bad enough to elect an unaccomplished, naive, amateur to the White House... But this amateur obviously lacks integrity and character.

"The business of exposing bias is a little bit like serving as a parole officer at a juvenile detention facility. The misdeeds seldom change, the miscreants seldom learn, but you still have to do your best to encourage good behavior. And you have to do it in such a way that you don't lose your temper or your mind." --Tony Snow

First Black In The White House
It won't be Barack... He's a mulatto. The first black in the White House will be Michelle.
I'm not sure why, but I think the thought of Michelle bothers me more than the other new resident... The one who will be doing the major damage.
Why is that? Why is the thought of First Lady Michelle more irritating than the thought of President Obama?
I see Senator Obama as a foreigner... Raised outside the Continental United States... And I don't expect him to love our country, its history, or its traditions. I have very low expectations for him.
But Michelle was raised here, and when she gets up and speaks... And scolds... I just want to tell her that she is an annoying, ungrateful twit... And that she should just shut up.
First Lady Hillary wanted to screw up the country with her liberalism, but I still saw her as a patriot.
I think Michelle is unpatriotic... She was taught that this country is bad.

My Favorite Scene from the Tarzan Movies
I'm not sure what it is about this scene from the 1934 Tarzan movie that I find so appealing... Maybe the underwater photography... Maybe the artistic swimming ballet that Maureen O'Sullivan and Johnny Weismiller perform...
Whatever it is... It warms my heart.
Janice has blogged about the now famous "Karachi Kids" here and here.
If these were Christian kids sent to some sort of wacked-out fundamentalist Christian religious school... The courts would call it child abuse and they would be removed from their home.
But we can't do that to Muslim parents... No matter how radical they are.

Well now here is an interesting story...
The Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized Wednesday for saying Barack Obama is “talking down to black people” during what Jackson thought was a private conversation before a FOX News interview Sunday.
Jackson was speaking to a guest at the time about Obama’s speeches in black churches and his support for faith-based charities. Jackson added before going live, “I want to cut his nuts off.”
His microphone picked up the remarks.
When my preacher speaks of nuts, he is usually referring to walnuts, pecans... Nuts like that.
Now, if Jesse had simply expressed a desire to kick Obama in the... Filberts... I think many of us could appreciate those prayerful sentiments. But it seems to me that the "cutting off" of said... macadamias... moves beyond the realm of insightful theology into the sphere of mutilation and sadism. But maybe that's just me.
I think Jesse is worried about losing a bit of his influence if Obama is elected. But just as John the Baptist had to become less once the Messiah arrived...
But I figure the Reverend Jackson sees himself as the true Black Messiah. Even Jesse's promoting of Jesus has always taken a back seat to Jesse's promoting of Jesse.
Stephen Moore writes in the Wall Street Journal:
My contacts at the Treasury Department tell me that for the first time in decades, and perhaps ever, the richest 1% of tax filers will have paid more than 40% of the income tax burden. The top 50% will account for 97% of all federal income taxes, while the bottom 50% will have paid just 3%.
But Barack Obama has decided the rich still don't pay enough. He would redistribute the tax burden even more heavily on small business owners and the entrepreneurial class (two-thirds of the tax filers in the highest income tax bracket are small-business owners.)
But... History has demonstrated time and again that raising tax rates on the wealthy in the name of "redistribution" leads to so much income shifting, reduced work and investment, and redeployment of money into tax shelters, that the rich usually pay less, not more taxes, at higher rates.
Economist Glenn Hubbard of Columbia University has shown that in 1970, when the highest tax rate was 70%, the top 1% shouldered 16.7% of the income tax burden. Today the top tax rate is 35% and the same class of taxpayers pays a whopping 39% of the burden. The worst way to "soak the rich," Mr. Hubbard finds, is to raise tax rates.
Ah, so the wealthy small business owners get their taxes doubled and subsequently lay off a few million workers, creating the need for more welfare and government handouts... And sooner or later Obama needs to raise taxes on us middle class folk, too. Unfortunately we don't have the financial options of the rich.
I know we need to elect Obama because he's black, but couldn't we have picked a man of color who isn't a flaming socialist?

...generally speaking. My wild guess is that 75% of all medicine practiced is a waste of money and 25% is detrimental to your health.
Because of TV shows and movies, many of us delude ourselves into thinking that medicine is something other than a business. I feel sorry for people who think that, but once you've drunk the kool-aid...
I know men and women in their 90's who won't eat their favorite foods because they're afraid of cholesterol. I know a couple women in their 90's who have never been in a hospital bed, and whose children are unhealthy and dying because they're sedentary and on 15 different medicines.
While it's true that there are times in life when you may need a doctor... Generally speaking, they're just another bad habit to avoid. Here are a few tips from your Uncle Malott to help you avoid them.
1) If you sit on your butt all the time you're not going to feel good and will likely become depressed. You will age more rapidly. Pills won't help you... They will just get you some attention and put more money into your doctor's pocket and the drug companies' coffers. You need to discipline yourself to spend a half hour, 3 or 4 times per week to walk a couple miles at a fast pace... Whether you feel like it or not.
2) Be a grown-up and give up sugar by the age of 40 or sooner. Don't even go down the candy aisle at the grocery. Believe me, you'll still get plenty of sugar in your diet eating everything from bread to peanut butter.
...And don't look down your nose at the alcoholic or smoker if you're stuffing your face with a more socially accepted poison.
3) If you have health problems... Take only those pills that keep you alive... blood thinners, blood pressure medicine, etc... and pitch the rest.
4) Eat bread once per week. Eat potatoes once per week. Eat chips once per month. Eat less. Get thin. If your metabolism won't allow you to get thin, at least get your heart and lungs in shape by exercising.
5) Have a hard-boiled egg with your morning coffee. Eat a salad for lunch. Eat meat for dinner with lots and lots of green things.
And remember, God made food to sustain us... Not to entertain us. If you're bored - do something... Don't eat something.
6) Drink coke or pop 2 or 3 times per year. Keep a gallon jug of tea in your refrigerator and learn to like it unsweetened. Drink all you want... And then drink some more.
7) If you live in an agricultural area, buy and drink spring water... Especially if you have any cancer in your family history.
8) Stay away from doctors. Aggressive medical care will kill you more often than it will save you - and faster than alcohol and tobacco.
So eat a can of spinach and call me in the morning.
Please feel free to add to my prescription in comments.

New McCain Ad
Is there a more attractive, compelling, and charismatic political figure than John McCain?
Wednesday, July 02, 2008
The Supreme Court's decision upholding the Second Amendment right of individuals to own firearms, should finally lay to rest the widespread myth that the defining difference between liberal and conservative justices is that the former support "individual rights" and "civil liberties," while the latter routinely defer to government assertions of authority. The Heller dissent presents the remarkable spectacle of four liberal Supreme Court justices tying themselves into an intellectual knot to narrow the protections the Bill of Rights provides.
Conservative justices... typically vote to limit the government's ability to regulate election-related speech, while liberal justices are willing to uphold virtually any regulation in the name of "campaign finance reform."
Liberals have also been more willing than conservatives to limit the First Amendment's protection of "expressive association." The Court's conservatives held that forcing the Boy Scouts of America to employ a gay scoutmaster violated the Scouts' right to promote its belief in traditional sexual morality. The liberal dissenters thought the government should be allowed to force the Scouts to present a message inconsistent with the Scouts' values.
The Fifth Amendment's protection of property rights presents, if anything, an even starker example of greater commitment to individual rights by the conservative majority. In the infamous Kelo v. New London, the Court's liberal justices, joined by Justice Kennedy, held that the government may take an individual's property and turn it over to a private party for commercial use.
When I was in school I was taught that the Bill of Rights was about my personal rights and freedoms... Not about propping up liberal cultural engineering and big government heavy-handedness.

Doreen's Hair
Doreen was my college girlfriend, a terrific girl, who finally broke up with me because she figured I wasn't going to marry her... And, almost immediately found my replacement... A guy that worked for her local phone company. My last words to Doreen were long distance when I said, "Oh fine... It's every mother's dream that her daughter marries a doctor, a lawyer, or some guy that works for the phone company!" She laughed out loud... Then she hung up.
Classic.
But back to her hair... This is a story that takes place when I visited her at home in in Maryland and she took me to the National Zoo in Washington D.C.
Doreen was of Swedish descent and she had beautiful, and very thick blond hair... Which was always beaten into submission, and under the strictest control. I don't know how else to explain it.

But the day we visited the zoo was a hot, windy, and very humid day... And her hair went wild! Unshackled and unrestrained, her hair became a beautiful, full, unwieldy, sexy sight... And she looked great!
...to me.
I made a big deal of it and told her how great she looked and she thanked me... And I never saw her hair that way again.
I figure it's like this: A woman doesn't care what a guy likes... At least when it comes to her personal appearance... Especially when it's her hair. A woman knows how she wants to look and it's best if the guy just smiles and goes along...

In my previous post, Dear Sweet Bekah commented that I should have gone shopping at the Hobby Lobby with her and her friend.
I get the feeling that when Bekah shops, she picks up every single item in the store, looks at it, and sets it back down.
My mother shopped that way when I was little... And I can't tell you how I suffered. The boredom... The standing around and behaving for, what seemed, hours.
And then when I acted up she would drop down on one knee, hold my face in her hands, and tenderly say, "If you don't straighten up, I'll pull down your pants right here in front of everyone, and blister your bare bottom!
To this day, I will not go shopping with that woman.

NEW YORK — Angry politicians vowed to keep writing laws that condemn child rapists to death, despite a Supreme Court decision saying such punishment is unconstitutional.
Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called the ruling "incredibly absurd," "a clear abuse of judicial authority" and said officials will "evaluate ways to amend our statute to maintain death as a penalty for this horrific crime."
Obama said he was outraged, too! But as president, he will nominate liberal activist judges... Just like the ones who made this decision.
My idea is this: When a child is raped, put the rapist in a room with all the child's male relatives and all the fathers and grandfathers from the child's neighborhood... Oh... For about an hour. Then, the Supreme Court can decide what happens to whatever is left.

I've decided to list BO's qualifications and accomplishments. It won't take long.
1) He was raised abroad in his Mother's anti-American Leftist culture, and knows and appreciates little of America's culture and greatness.
2) He was educated by Leftist Universities.
3) He was elected to the Illinois legislature.
4) He was elected to the U.S. Senate and has served less than one term.
5) He was nominated for President by his Party.
Less than impressive... He has never run a business. He has never led in the armed services. He is hardly a legislative giant. His one talent or ability is that he speaks well when behind a tele-prompter.
Heaven help us!
Anyone that can embellish this list of accomplishments is welcome to chime in.
I wasn't saying there was something sinister about Obama's "57 states"... Just that since there is a United Nations-related Muslim group of 57 states, that Obama might have made a simple mistake - and this might be the cause.
Whether this reflects on his religious heritage or sympathies is something we all must decide.
Based on his choice of Churches, his support of partial-birth abortion, his support of the radical homosexual agenda, and his belittling references to scripture... I doubt his Christianity. Based on these actions and opinions, he is more likely a devout Muslim - saying whatever lies will get him elected - than a devout Christian.
My guess? He is an atheist and former expatriate who cares nothing about America or her cultural heritage.

There are a group of 57 Islamic States.
From Wikipedia:
The Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It groups 57 Islamic member states, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America. The official languages of the organization are Arabic, English and French.
So, When Obama talked about visiting 57 states, maybe in the back of his mind he was thinking about the OIC.

Broadway Musical Lyrics for 100, Alex. What do you end up with after three sets of tennis?
Took the week off from work and blogging. This may last for the rest of the summer... Scant blogging... (I'll most likely go back to work.)
I've come to the conclusion that I just have nothing interesting or worthwhile to say... At least in the summer months.

Robert W Dale said of the famous 19th century preacher, "There is no one in this world I would want to hear preach about hell except Dwight L Moody because I have never heard Moody preach on it without breaking down in the middle and weeping."
I believe modern day preachers have been intimidated by the religious liberals and non-believers. Today, preaching about Hell is not cool... It's just not done... Makes you a Bible-thumper. Hellfire and brimstone sermons make you an "ineffective" fossil.

It's on hold. I'm certainly physically intimidating enough, but I may be too old.
Have you seen this stuff? How far removed is it from the Roman Coliseum? Is it any wonder that we have high school girls fighting on YouTube?
Isn't it interesting to watch our culture consistently choose the path towards decay.

I got this brainstorm... Surely "The Anti-Christ" was born in June of 1966. 666, get it? It's so simple.
So I went to this site, but the only famous people born in June that year were Mike Tyson and John Cusack.
So never mind.
for June...
Mary Mary quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row.
The origins are steeped in history...The Mary alluded to in this traditional English nursery rhyme is Mary Tudor, or Bloody Mary, who was the daughter of King Henry VIII. Queen Mary was a staunch Catholic and the garden referred to is an allusion to graveyards which were increasing in size with those who dared to continue to adhere to the Protestant faith. The silver bells and cockle shells were colloquialisms for instruments of torture. The 'maids' were a device to behead people similar to the guillotine.
When I read the line - And pretty maids all in a row - I think of pecan pie. I don't know why.

You know, this President Obama thing may have some hidden perks. Oh sure... He'll destroy our economy, weaken the military in a time of war, and hasten America's cultural slide towards a Godless, immoral swamp... But let's look at the bright side, shall we?!
African Americans, AA's as we say in Greentown, often feel disenfranchised, neglected, and "disrespected"... which by the way - isn't a real word. They have a legitimate argument... And I feel for them... Especially the males. What a burden it must be to approach life always feeling you have something to prove... After all, AA's are every bit as competent and capable as other Americans, and the only thing impeding the progress of many is the Liberals' assigned excuses, possibly inducing a lack of self esteem and a dilution of impetus towards success.
But! When Obama is elected, every AA will automatically become "mainstream"... The rest of us will no longer feel we have to "walk on eggshells", worrying about saying the wrong thing... And I will be blessed by being able to write posts entitled "Negro Bikers" without offending anyone or being called a racist... Which I am not.
Yesterday I saw two Negro Bikers... Something you just don't see every day.
Something is in the air.
A "President Obama" just might finally end the "color game" that has been boring me since the 60's.
Maybe a "President Obama" will short circuit a long-endured malady.
Maybe my Christian brothers at Obama's Church will be freed at last to concentrate on our Lord... Rather than what they hate.

John Hagee - Christians for Israel
Because of Biblical prophecy, I do not worry about Israel. But I do worry about what will happen to the United States if she abandons Israel.
As America's spiritual offenses continue to pile up, I wonder what happens to a sin-embracing nation that becomes politically irrelevant to God's purposes.

When I have a lot of cheese in my diet I find I carry more weight, and I believe it works like this: As far as I know, I have never been constipated in my entire life. To the contrary, I am so regular that it sometimes frightens me. It's not uncommon for me to sit and reminisce with an entree I consumed less that twelve hours before.
That said, cheese slows things down, causing my body to retain more entrees at any given time; thus, the added weight.
And, I'm reasonably certain that cheese changes the character and dimensions of my tidings.
Once when I was in the 4th grade, having been excused from class to empty my bladder, Danny Mohr, a 5th grader, came out of one of the stalls just beaming. "You gotta see this!" he said. And it was truly amazing... Not the length - but the girth of this monster. I remember there was some talk about whether it should be flushed - or saved for recess when the other boys could appreciate it. I mean... We've all heard fish stories.
Now years later, the cynic in me wonders if this zeppelin hadn't been left by one of the teachers or a much bigger boy... Danny wasn't that big a boy and for this amazing piece-o-poo to greet the world without the aid of some sort of rectal episiotomy stretches... well, the imagination. But I've never been one that harvested pleasure from running down amazing things... So I stand by my friend.
But my query is this: Could cheese have been the knitting that bound Danny's masterpiece?
If you would like to experiment with this at home, I suggest Baby Swiss.
Thank you.

More love from Obama's Church
"I'm Bill's wife, I'm white... Oh damn!...I'm entitled... A whole lot of white people crying..."
Fine. Obama's church doesn't like white people.
Got it.
He and his family sat through years of this?.... And he wants to be my President?
Powell and Rice seem less hatefilled...

I am not a brilliant man. I am not a brilliant medical technologist. But am I a brilliant cook?
Probably.
Because I'm gracious, kind, and reek of piety... I've decided to share my recipe for Italian Subs. I know... I know... You're welcome!
Ingredients:
1) Deli style sub buns
2) Shaved baked ham
3) Shaved salami
4) Contadina tomato paste w/ tomato pesto
5) Provolone cheese
6) McCormack's Italian seasoning
Listen closely: Open the sub bun - you may have to use a knife - toast under your broiler until light golden brown. (This keeps your sandwich from being soggy)
On the bottom bun half, spread tomato paste, add a thin layer of ham and a thin layer of salami, and place under the broiler (This half needs to toast a smidgen longer than the top.)
On the top bun half, place a layer of provolone, sprinkle on Italian seasoning, and place under broiler.
When it's done, place the halves together... And enjoy.
You can deviate from my ingredients and instructions... But understand this: You'll be screwing with perfection. And no one respects that.

Remembering Maria Sue
Steven Curtis Chapman, the Christian music artist, adopted three Chinese girls... Maria recently died in an accident. Her eyes remind me of a little girl I once held in my arms. I can't imagine the pain.
A part of God's perfect plan.
A glory we know, but a glory we must accept through faith.

Tsofah,
I appreciate your sensitivities.
For years I have believed that Senator Kennedy is a very bad man. And while I would wish cancer on no one, for me to now collapse into a fit of concern and compassion would be disingenuous. We are all going to die... (I know I plan to...) and the Senator can afford to pass painlessly and peacefully.
Maybe we should pray that this illness would cause the Senator to publicly repent - and thus glorify G_d.
Maybe the Senator will publicly turn away from his support of abortion, the gay agenda, His efforts to separate G_d from our schools and our institutions... And maybe he will repent of his personal life style.
I believe G_d uses illness to bless people... By getting their attention off the world and onto Him.
Senator Kennedy has the opportunity to turn a lifetime of mistakes into a glorious witness. Maybe we should pray for that.

BOSTON - Sen. Edward Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor.
Doctors for the Massachusetts Democrat said Tuesday that preliminary biopsy results showed a malignant glioma in the left parietal-lobe. It was detected after Kennedy, 76, was airlifted to Boston on Saturday after having a seizure at his Cape Cod home.
It is reported that upon hearing the news, the executives at Chivas Regal wept.
It just doesn't make sense. A guy takes care of himself... Lives right... Avoids diving into the water late at night... And then this happens!
Get well Ted. You exemplify your ilk to comedic perfection... You are irreplaceable.

If you back away from this picture Albert gains new found allure.
Einstein was born into a Jewish family and was no doubt circumcised as an infant.
Note: The entire staff at Malott's Blog sincerely apologizes for allowing the subject of the previous post to encroach upon this one.
Thank you.

After 46 years the Naked Truth Sees the Light of Day... Is Brought Out and Examined... Is Exposed... Displayed... Laid Bare... Uncovered... Unmasked... Unveiled... All That.
When my mother went into labor and they checked her out... They found that my umbilical cord was preceding me. Not good. With my oxygen supply cut off, I no doubt became indignant and began pounding my fists against the walls of my mother's uterus, demanding immediate action... Well maybe I did. Anyway, they rushed us to the delivery room.
I was born a blue baby... Breech... With a prolapsed cord. Then I got sick. In short, because of my general health - or lack thereof - they never got around to circumcising me.
Fast forward to the summer when I am seven years old. I develop a hernia that requires surgery. Unknown to me... My parents talk to the surgeon behind my back and arrange for me to be circumcised during my hernia surgery.
I was kept in the dark on this issue.
In the recovery room, at some point after the surgery I inadvertently knocked the bandage off my member... And my most vivid memory of that day is the sight of three nurses and my mother huddled over me as the nurses re-bandaged my John Thomas. And... My dad coming from around the corner, quickly developing an "OH MY GOD!" look on his face, and immediately disappearing.
Most tragedies are best illustrated in pictures... As they will be here. (No... no... no... I don't mean that.) Below is my first grade picture, taken about 10 months before the horror.
Notice the innocent look on my face... The trusting eyes. Notice the easy, carefree smile. Is this a normal and well-adjusted little man? Oh yes. Yes he is.
Now look at my second grade picture, about 2 months after my surgery.

Notice the vacant stare. Notice the forced smile. The picture reveals disillusionment and a new found cynicism. Even my hair is different, symbolically clipped and trimmed. This is a young man who trusts no one... Sadly, not even his parents.
Two years later I had knee surgery to repair a torn cartilage. Before going under the knife I had many long talks with my parents. I can assure you that details were discussed... And promises were made...
It's just one win - and too late - for Mrs. Clinton... But by 41% ?!? Obama should get down on his knees... No, he should lie prostrate on the floor and thank God, or Allah, or whatever he actually worships... That West Virginia doesn't hold its primary in January.
And for all those Hillary voters in West Virginia I'd say this: If you want to have any influence on who your party nominates for the presidency... Move to Iowa.
I'm sure Obama sees the results from last night as the irrational ravings of uneducated, unsophisticated, Typical White People... But I don't think race is the issue... I don't think the Obomber is a weak candidate because he is half black.
Obama is weak because among his confidants he has a criminal, a racist, and a left-wing domestic terrorist... He's weak because he thinks it's uncool to wear an American Flag lapel pin... He's weak because this son a Muslim want to sit down and play knees-eeze with Muslim terrorists...
He's weak because he doesn't love his country in the same way as the young men and women who are lining up to die for her...

This is me with two thirds of my nephews... My sister's boys.

Yes I know... I should never wear shorts.
The nephew on the left is now a lawyer... The younger one is a school teacher and has a talk-radio show.
My third nephew, my brother's boy, is an excellent golfer... Something I can respect.
Some day in the future I plan to be dead... And I hope my nephews remember me as the fun uncle... The attentive uncle... The good uncle...
Not the uncle in this picture... The one wishing their mother would come and get them... And for pity's sake take them away!

Because of Rush Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos," I declared myself a Democrat today... And voted for Hillary Clinton.
I feel so dirty. I will drape cloth over my mirrors because I cannot abide my reflection. I am become sin. I am hideous. I will was my hands, but my hands will ne'er be clean again.
Out, damn'd spot! out, I say!

Do you know the difference between a hurricane, a typhoon and a cyclone? Honolulu Community College Professor Richard Brill does.
The Caribbean Sea is the spawning ground for hurricanes in the Atlantic and eastern Pacific Oceans. They are called typhoons In the western Pacific and cyclones in the Indian Ocean, but the physics is the same.
A cyclone is any mass of air that spirals around a low pressure center. It is an organized collection of thunderstorms embedded in a swirling mass of air.
At the center of the spiral is the eye, a vertical tube of clear skies and calm winds; the more intense the storm, the smaller the eye.
Although the main upwards flow of air is around the eye, the entire air mass is unstable. Spiraling rows of thunderstorms with relatively clear areas between them extend outwards for up to two thousand miles from the center, gradually diminishing in intensity.
