Trysting In The Wind

WASHINGTON -- Former presidential candidate John Edwards, who won praise and sympathy as he campaigned side-by-side with his cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, admitted Friday he had had an extramarital affair with a Santa Barbara woman who produced videos for his campaign.

It's odd that politicians have affairs and think they won't get caught.

We all Remember Gary Hart and Donna Rice... Although Rice has since turned her life around.

I wish I could claim to be squeaky clean... But I too was caught in an illicit relationship a few years ago.

I remember how cute she looked in her underwear.

I remember how sexy she looked in the shower.

For I am but flesh and blood, and heir to its weaknesses.

I understand that Hunter expects to marry Edwards. She's a vampire. She and Edwards will be perfect for each other.

She is just another lost little soul... As is he.

The telling thing is that they seemingly fear no governing authority... No moral arbiter.

Such is our culture.

This post really made me laugh, Chris. I would call Hunter a "succubus" and Edwards a willing victim.

I love pictures of Helen, such a precious pup!

That's just ghoulish, Skye! This woman is waiting around for Elizabeth Edwards to die or something? Liz will probably outlike Hunter.

John, however, needs to have himself a "chastity type belt". Just because his wife is going through cancer treatments is no reason to go out on her. Doesn't anyone remember the vows: "In sickness and in health" anymore?

I am far from perfect. This woman, however, needs to be kicked off Edwards payroll and the living set up needs to be ranked out from under her. Exile to another state would better suit her. Now that the U.S. knows about her and Edwards, there's no reason to keep "keeping" her. Oh yeah, and the baby? It's probably not Edwards and that's why she's not allowing DNA testing.

They both deserve a good kick in the rear!

Tsofah,

I suspect the baby really is his. She told some friends it was, and he was photographed (the Enquirer had photos) playing with the baby. Men tend not to like infants that aren't their own.

Hunter's refusal to do a paternity test shows her loyalty and will keep Edwards happy, so she can marry him later when... you know....
