Skyepuppy's "Stutthof"
Skyepuppy has a great pictorial post from her trip to a concentration/death camp in Poland.
She writes:
"...the only people who deny the Holocaust these days are the ones who want to finish the job."
Can you imagine the faith required to not-believe in things that are seen?
But all humans are religious in one way or another. We all serve a master.
However, I don't understand the Left's metamorphosis from the pro-Jewish, pro-Israel stance of my childhood - to the pro-Palestinian, Muslim-apologist stance of today. Is it because Evangelical Christians now embrace Israel? Is it some self-serving attempt at self-preservation - obeisance to a growing Islamic threat that they fear? Whatever it is, it's been an amazing leap for the Left.

The pro-Israel left of our childhood made the leap to the other side when the 60's era collegiates began to "question" authority. Now they're teaching in our most elite universities and colleges.
It's not what's "right" anymore, it's what feels good. And in the arab/Israeli conflict, cheering for the underdog feels good. They don't look at the blossom in the desert all they see is the oppression of a people thrown off their land by the "Zionists" and the capitalistic nation called America.
In my opinion, we are now reaping the fruits the mentality of that decade produced.
Thanks, Chris. That picture of the buildings through the trees was for you.
Janice,
I think your opinion is right on the money. The 60's was just another bite out of Eve's apple - and our culture has never really recovered.
Skyepuppy,
"For men love the darkness..." and evidently dense woods.
Its so interesting how over the years none of the European countries wanted the Jewish people to live in the land, and now they want to take away what was given them after WWII.
