Quote for the Day

"I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." --Jesus

I know this passage refers to the persecution and martyrdom Peter would suffer at the end of his life, but it is true for us on a different level. It is a very sad thing to watch my mother in her nursing home being dressed by others and taken where she doesn't want to go every day. Most of us will probably experience that to some degree when we are old and too weak to take care of ourselves, but she is doing it without the consolation of a personal relationship with her savior. I trust her soul to a just and merciful God, but I wish she knew and felt the constant compaionship of Jesus as she goes through this. My point is, my friends...don't delay in coming to Jesus. Spend your whole life cultivating your relationship with him. "If today you hear his voice, harden not your heart." (Psalm 95).
