New Truck (click to enlarge)
This is my new truck. It's a Chevy Silverado. It's alright. But my previous truck had the extended cab and so this truck looks very small to me. I would have preferred the color "summit white." "Silver birch metallic" would have been OK. But as you see, I got "Adolescent Red." I'm feeling funny about the color, and the short bed doesn't look very manly. It looks as if I took a cut in pay and this was all I could afford.
It's alright.

Please don't apologize for not getting white. White is not a color. White is the absence of color. Gray and silver are not colors either. White, gray, and silver blend and fade into the background. This is not good.
Red, blue, green, even yellow. Those are colors (but I doubt I'd actually buy yellow). I like color. I buy color (though I'm sick of dark red/maroon, because 4 of my last 5 cars were dark red). Color says, "I'm here." This is good.
But that wasn't what I was going to say.
I'm so jealous that you have a truck! I need a truck sometimes.
Right now I have my bookcases in a storage unit, and I want to get them back into my house, but all my close friends (like me) drive Corollas, and my minivan doesn't do all the fancy seat-flippy things that brand new minivans do, and I really hate to ask truck-owning people for help, because there must be some sort of long-forgotten trauma that makes me feel as though I have to do things myself without needing other people. Umm... Well...
Great truck, Chris! I really like it, especially the color. I hope you enjoy it.
I kinda thought you were a Chevy guy. Nice truck.....
SkyePuppy and Janice,
Thanks for the encouragement.
While I generally like red vehicles, this red looks to have a little too much pink blended in. Don't worry about that, though. The good news is that the shorter bed will work nicely for hauling around flowers, doll beds and antiques.
Nice truck, Chris.
I think "adolescent red" is a fine color. Why not choose it? It stands out, it says, "I'm bright, I'm fiery, I'm fun, I'm hip!" What could be wrong with that?
White, to me anyhow, says little old lady. White attracts dirt...not good for a fun-loving, cleanliness-challenged bachelor. Of course, most guys I've known would happily let mold grow in their shower and sink, but would be mortified if their truck had a speck of dirt on it.
As for the shorter bed not looking "manly" enough...I can honestly say, I've never thought the size of a man's truck bed determined his manliness.
