The Trump Tapes: Vol. 1
How Do You Solve a Problem Like the Donald?
Trump is saying exactly what conservative Republicans want to hear... But after listening to the video above you may come to only one of the following conclusions:
1. Trump was lying before.
2. Trump is lying now.
3. Trump underwent an amazing transformation.
4. Trump has no core values.
I am having a difficult time believing number 3.
We are one liberal supreme court justice away from losing much of the freedom and autonomy we currently enjoy.
I believe it is in our best interest to pick the most conservative politician that can win.
I believe I know who that is... And it isn't Donald Trump... Nor is it the guy I like the most.

Surely the Democrats Can Do Better
If Brian Williams, who lied about being forced down by enemy fire in a helicopter over Iraq, is deemed unworthy to be an anchorman...
Then surely Hillary Clinton, who lied about landing in Bosnia and running with her head down because of "sniper fire," is unworthy of the presidency.
She lied about being named after Sir Edmund Hillary... She lied to the families of the victims of the Benghazi attacks.
I don't expect the Democrats to nominate a conservative. But can't they find someone with at least a modicum of character?
Across the breadth of this nation I'll bet there are ten, maybe even eleven Democrats with more character than Hillary Clinton.

Sweden Welcomes Muslims
The risk of being raped in Sweden during one’s lifetime is one out of four.
As Muslim men immigrated to Sweden they brought with them an Islamic culture sanctioning rape. It is a culture bad enough inherently in the treatment of its own women. Under sharia, Muslim women serve little more purpose beyond catering to their husbands’ sexual demands. A non-submissive wife runs the risk of being raped by her husband.
But under Sharia this rape culture also impacts upon Swedish women as they are “infidels” and, as such, are — according to Allah’s teachings — sanctioned targets for rape by Muslim men. Such an Islamic belief system has born witness to a drastic increase in rapes in Sweden — more than a thousand fold — since first opening its doors to Muslim immigration.

So Malott's Blog has to ask this: What is best for the American women and girls that we love? Does America really need more men from the middle east in its neighborhoods? What exactly do we get in exchange for that?
Has the Left Wing love for multiculturalism left us bereft of all common sense?

Lay's Corporation Goes Gay... or LGBT
So I went right out and bought some Mikesells Potato Chips for myself. I may start buying them for friends, family, and maybe people I meet on the street...
Mikesells are better chips than Lay's, and as far as I know Mikesells does not encourage a lifestyle that sends unrepentant participants to an eternal Hell. (An important point)
In this video Lay's is not flipping off God alone... There is also a dig at political conservatives. Fine.
So Lay's Corporation is run by the enemies of God... and Conservatism. Good to know. I think I can make it through the rest of my life not sending them a penny in support of their evangelistic work.

Quote for the Day
You seem to consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions; a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy. Our judges are as honest as other men, and not more so. They have, with others, the same passions for party, for power, and the privilege of their corps.... Their power the more dangerous as they are in office for life, and not responsible, as the other functionaries are, to the elective control. The Constitution has erected no such single tribunal, knowing that to whatever hands confided, with the corruptions of time and party, its members would become despots. It has more wisely made all the departments co-equal and co-sovereign within themselves.
--President Jefferson criticizing the Marbury v. Madison Decision

Rush Limbaugh is Gay for Donald Trump
The universe is making little sense today. After the first Republican Debates last night I listened to Rush Limbaugh to hear his opinion on who played well and who didn't.
All he talked about was Donald Trump... Seriously, I'm talking 90% of the 3-hour radio show.... And I don't understand the fixation.
I know that Trump is anti-Republican Establishment which is dear to Limbaugh's heart, but Ted Cruz is every bit the anti-establishment Republican, and is also a good man... A good man with a conservative record.
Trump has been all over the map in his politics and loyalties.
Limbaugh is supposedly the Conservative's Conservative. Why does he insist upon propping up this buffoon?
And thanks the pathetic efforts of the FOX interviewers, (Is there anyone more full of herself than Meghan Kelly?) we know nothing about what qualities Trump would look for in a Supreme Court nominee... Who he would hire as advisers... What leaders he would pattern himself after...
What a waste of an opportunity to inform the voters.
And then Limbaugh appears to have gone insane.
It makes my head hurt.

Quote of the Day
"What is an idol? It is anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, anything you seek to give you what only God can give. A counterfeit god is anything so central and essential to your life that, should you lose it, your life would feel hardly worth living. An idol has such a controlling position in your heart that you can spend most of your passion and energy, your emotional and financial resources, on it without a second thought. It can be family and children, or career and making money, or achievement and critical acclaim, or saving “face” and social standing. It can be a romantic relationship, peer approval, competence and skill, secure and comfortable circumstances, your beauty or your brains, a great political or social cause, your morality and virtue, or even success in the Christian ministry. When your meaning in life is to fix someone else’s life, we may call it “codependency” but it is really idolatry. An idol is whatever you look at and say, in your heart of hearts, “If I have that, then I’ll feel my life has meaning, then I’ll know I have value, then I’ll feel significant and secure.”

As Ferguson Burns
The African-Americans I know are just like me. They believe that when thugs of any color steal, assault police officers... And end up dead... That it's a proper outcome. It's an outcome that makes their children and property safer. No one wants their kids endangered by such individuals.
And it's an insult to these same African-Americans that a liberal government is treating the blacks presently destroying Ferguson, Missouri as if they were children... As if they simply can't help but riot.
I think it's ironic and instructive that these rioters are imitating the deceased 18-year-old Michael Brown in that they are stealing and assaulting police officers. They know they will not end up in the city morgue because a liberal government will order the police to show restraint, even if they and firefighters are assaulted and threatened with deadly force.
But the true criminals are the haters, the inciters... the Al Sharptons who provoke violence among the ignorant instead of promoting civil, lawful behavior and a correct understanding of what happened in Ferguson back in August.
But the only time that Al and his ilk will serve, is time before a television camera.
But I guess I'm just a softie... I can't help but feel sorry for the next Michael Brown... The next ignorant punk that is raised with no respect for the rule of law. But hey! If he survives, America just might elect him president!

A Man Needs A Shed
Neil Young sang "A Man Needs a Maid," but if rumors are true, he didn't care for maids himself. But having the y chromosome... albeit a confused y... He certainly would appreciate my new shed.
It is 10 feet by 16 feet, and is made of treated lumber... And, it's the biggest and best shed in the neighborhood. HA!

I've Dug a Potato or Two
You no doubt ask, "Does it take a man to grow potatoes such as these?" Oh yes... yes it does. And he must be a mighty man... Virile, robust... Yet strangely humble.
When digging potatoes, it's best to wear boots like these... Preferably with bibs that are three sizes too big. Bibs are a garment meant to get lost in.

If It Walks Like a Duck
We've all heard the media clobbering Phil Robertson by saying he made ant-gay comments in an interview with GQ.
Christians know this is a lie.
Phil didn't make anti-gay comments, but rather talked about what the Bible calls sin.
We've all heard gay activists say they want Phil fired for being ignorant and hateful.
Christians know this isn't what they really want.
Gay activists want Christians punished when they talk about what the Bible says about homosexuality... They want Christians censored like they are in Canada.
Phil was brave and spoke out against sin.
The media was cowardly and didn't admit what they really believe... That the Bible has No Authority to define sin... That it hasn't the Authority to suggest how we should live.

My Dad and Frenchie
In the Pacific during the second world war, my dad served on a destroyer, the U.S.S. Hoel. Three months before the Hoel was sunk, my dad was selected to return to Boston and help train a green crew on a new destroyer, the U.S.S. Purdy.
While putting the crew and the new destroyer through maneuvers along the Atlantic Coast, the ship experienced stormy conditions and high seas which damaged the deck around the forward gun. This required the ship to be taken to Portland Maine for repairs.
My dad's friend, Frenchie (Arthur Pereault), had a wife living in Lewiston Maine and he expressed the desire to visit her. But he said he didn't want to go by himself. So my dad said that he would come along.
The two were supposed to be back onboard before midnight, but they didn't arrive back until 5:30 AM. The officer on deck, an ensign, stopped them and chewed them out for being late, and then he began filling out a form to put them on report.
Just then the engineering officer, my dad's boss, came aboard and said, "Malott! What's going on?"
The ensign explained what had happened and that they were being put on report.
The engineering officer took the form from the ensign, tore it in two, and said, "Where these boys are going, this doesn't mean a damned thing." And handed the torn form back to the ensign.
....
My dad didn't want to leave the Hoel and go to Boston, but the reassignment saved his life. When the Hoel was sunk, none of the men in the engine room made it off the ship alive.

Eternal Separation from God
Not your grandfather's Hell...
Every American male who occupies a pulpit today, along with every American pew-sitter, has been raised on television. And the comedies, the dramas, the news, and every other type of programming is a constant diet of the world's wisdom.
This is important to understand, because the world's wisdom teaches us that the Hell described in the Bible is an unreasonable punishment. There may be a creator, but Hell is not fathomable. Hell is the stuff of jokes.
Based upon everything I've absorbed in 55 years of listening to the world, it's hard for me to believe in Hell. This is because my default position is to filter God through what I've learned from the world. I have to stop and think if I want to filter the world's wisdom through what I've learned about God in scripture.
I've been purchasing and downloading sermons by Jonathon Edwards, Wesley, Spurgeon, and other pre-mass-media preachers. These were serious dudes who talked much more about repentance and obedience than grace. They didn't tell jokes from the pulpit. And, for them, Hell was as the Bible described, not the more palatable concept of being separated from God.
Maybe they had read: “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. – Revelation 14:10
The worst thing that could happen to a soul would be to spend eternity in Hell. Why would anyone that cared about souls dress up this horror with a euphemism? Why would they attempt to palliate such a tragedy with the almost innocuous phrase separation from God?
I think I know why: The world's wisdom tells them that it's not cool to use the word Hell. They believe God sounds more reasonable and fair if they use the euphemism. Simple as that.
So the next time I hear a media-satiated believer with a Bible College Degree honor the world by using the phrase Eternal Separation from God... I'm going to take a stand... I'm going to get up and walk out.
It's the right thing to do.
Evangelist Dwight L Moody died in 1899. It is said that he never preached on Hell without breaking down in tears. Obviously the wisdom of the world escaped him.

The smiling woman pictured here is strapped to a table and is about to be executed.
| "Yes sir, I would like to say to all of you — the Thornton family and Jerry Dean’s family — that I am so sorry. I hope God will give you peace with this. (She looked at her husband) Baby, I love you. (She looked at Ronald Carlson) Ron, give Peggy a hug for me. (She looked at all present weeping and smiling) Everybody has been so good to me. I love all of you very much. I am going to be face to face with Jesus now. Warden Baggett, thank all of you so much. You have been so good to me. I love all of you very much. I will see you all when you get there. I will wait for you." --Karla Faye Tucker I love stories of redemption. Maybe even more amazing is the story of David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam Killer. Convicted of killing six women and shooting seven others in New York City over 13 months in 1976 and 1977, Berkowitz is serving six consecutive 25-years-to-life sentences. He is imprisoned at the maximum-security Sullivan Correctional Facility northwest of New York City. I was 10 years into my prison sentence, and I was constantly in trouble, you know, a disciplinary problem. I had a really bad attitude. Living with a lot of anger, and so forth. And one night I was walking the prison yard, and another inmate came up to me and introduced himself. And said, listen, I know you're David Berkowitz, and I want to tell you something. He says, I want you to know that Jesus Christ loves you, and he's got a plan and a purpose for your life. And I says listen, I don't want to hear that, because, you know, I've done too many evil things and there's no forgiveness for me. Maybe there's a God out there someplace, but I don't think he has any interest in me at all. He says, no, you're wrong. David, God has sent me here to this prison just to tell you that he loved you, and he can forgive you. And he says I would like to be your friend. Well, we started to talk a little here and there. I would see him in the yard, because he lived in a different cell block. And we would meet in the yard, and we would walk around together, and he started to share Christ with me. And within a couple of months time he led me to the Lord. I know what Jesus Christ has done in my life. And I can understand that people in prison, out of prison, can be skeptical. But I have put my faith in Jesus Christ. He has done so much for me. I believe in him, and no matter what people say, I'm going to continue to serve him. I serve the Lord, ministering to the men in here, ah, doing Bible studies with the guys, I go into the chapel, I'm a chaplain's clerk now, and I preach the gospel even overseas through correspondents and testimony tracks, and so forth. So, I know I'm living for Jesus, and no matter what man may say, I belong to him. I've been purchased by Jesus Christ with his blood. --David Berkowitz He was first imprisoned at the Attica Correctional Facility and has served a total of 36 years. He has been up for parole every two years since 2002. He wrote in a letter: “I have no interest in parole and no plans to seek release. If you could understand this, I am already a ‘free man.’ I am not saying this jokingly. I really am. Jesus Christ has already pardoned me, and I believe this.” .... |

Holiness Lost
With the Supreme Court's latest surrender to the Enemy, I look at the path that our country is on and wonder why Holiness is not the hot topic in our nation's pulpits. The podcast preachers I follow will speak out against immorality, but they say little about "Coming out from them," to be separate... to be pure, Holy, and set apart for the Bridegroom.
Hebrews 12:14 tells us, "to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord..." So it must be important.
Here's my theory: If a preacher is being unfaithful to his wife, he probably isn't moved to preach about the evil of adultery. In the same way, if a preacher is addicted to the worldly media and its entertainment, he probably doesn't feel moved to preach about separation.
If a preacher in America brought up the subject of television's most popular sitcom, The Big Bang Theory, the congregation would probably smile, if not applaud. This makes it problematic to speak of the female character as a little whore who, I understand, has slept with two of the male characters. After all, this little blond is adorable and most pew-sitters will overlook such indiscretions in order to be entertained.
Anyway, here's my conclusion: As long as our preachers and their congregations are willing participants in the Enemy's incredibly influential media, they will be so much like the unbelievers that they will have no influence upon the culture... or their neighborhoods. They will be personally moral, but because they love to watch immorality, they never attend their thoughts to separation... To Holiness.
It's just not much fun to deny yourself. Seeking the Narrow Gate is neither entertaining nor titillating. Laying down worldly idols is a lonely business. Good luck finding a support group.
Another problem is that Organized Religion in America is so... American. We pew-sitters want to whoop it up, put on big smiles, and feel good about ourselves. Concentrating on something at which we are so dreadfully pathetic, separating from America's ugly culture, might be a bummer and might fill neither the building, nor the collection basket. It hurts our pride to try and repent of this sin and know that we fail every day.
But if we hope to see the Lord, we must be down for this struggle. If we hope to inherit the Grace of God... Not the words, "I never knew you," repenting of worldliness must be our passion. We will not be consistent... We will fail daily. It won't make us popular at work or in the community... or at Sunday services. But being among "The Few" has eternal advantages.
....
Changes in the Christian Home
I visit (check on) my 92-year-old father every day, and lately we have spent our time together talking about his childhood home back in the 1920's.
It occurred to me that in the past one hundred years that the Christian home has changed more dramatically than at any other time since the days that Jesus walked the earth.
In 1913 the Christian home was more "Holy," in the sense that it was more set apart from the world. The "World" existed outside the front door, well beyond even the property line... The "World" was the bar down the street, or the dance hall in that part of town where Christians did not visit.
But in the 20's and 30's the "World" invaded the Christian Home via radio which changed everything. In the 1950's the "World" added images to sound through television and a worldly addiction was firmly set into motion.
The "World," the "Enemy" showed great restraint in its use of television with shows like Father Knows Best which glorified family values. But in the 1960's, once the addiction had poured a firm foundation, the Enemy quickly proceeded to its true agenda.
Today "organized religion" in America seems to have an unwritten agreement with the Enemy. The Enemy can bring adultery into our Christian homes through television... They can bring stories of godless, sinful characters practicing fornication... They can entertain us with immoral humor of all kinds, and we will not only watch, but we will set our children down in the front row of the Enemy's classroom... Just as long as the actors keep their clothes on... As if somehow that makes it OK
In just one hundred years the Enemy has gained daily access into the Christian home, destroying its once sanctified nature... Daily polluting our hearts and minds, distracting us from the purpose for which we were created.
I believe it would be difficult to overestimate the influence of the worldly media on the Christian home. Whether child or adult we are being subtly and painstakingly taught the lessons and beliefs of the one who hates our God.
But we Believers in America are among the rich of this world and being rich, we are terribly greedy... Definitely greedy for our entertainment. We are not looking to deny ourselves but rather to enhance our worldly experience.
For over 50 years the Christian home in America has been absorbing the morality of the enemy for three hours every night... And it shows.

When Bowels Move
Just when you think you've seen everything, you wake up in the middle of the night, switch on your TV, and see a commercial for the Squatty Potty.
The theory is that the human body was fashioned in such a way that squatting was the healthiest position for making poo poo.
Who can argue?
Unfortunately the $24.99 plus S&H price tag is a bit steep for some.
So in the interest of the public's health, Malott's Blog is offering another option. Yes, for a mere $9.95 we will send you instructions on how to construct your own Malott's Squat-O-Pot with items you probably already have lying around your home. And, you will be given a phone number which will put you in touch with a knowledgeable expert to explain the intricacies involved in assembly.
And did I mention? The Malott's Squat-O-Pot is adjustable!
Below is a photo of the finished product.
So take advantage of this amazing offer, and soon you'll be pooping like a pro!

Peter Heck Makes New Friends on Left
We had a bit of a controversy here that I wanted to tell you about:
Peter Heck gave the commencement address at our High School last Sunday. When he finished, the entire graduating class and audience gave him a standing ovation... He sat down, but they remained on their feet until he stood again to acknowledge their applause.
The controversy arose when someone who I assume doesn't like Peter's politics, called WRTV-6 in Indianapolis and quoted Peter out of context saying, "We don’t need more women as CEOs."
The Associated Press picked it up and... Well, Peter explains on his site:

The Associated Press picked it up and... Well, Peter explains on his site:
Excerpt from "A Life of Rebellion" by Peter Heck
When I wrote the challenge to the graduating seniors of the Eastern High School class of 2013, I never had any idea that The Today Show, MSNBC, MSN, Yahoo, the Daily Caller, the Huffington Post, and ABC News would care what I said. As it turns out, after perusing their coverage of my speech, I’m pretty convinced I was right – they didn’t care what I said. They did care to sensationalize and distort my words for the sake of creating controversy, and thus getting attention. What high journalistic integrity.
So, for the sake of providing full context that our illustrious media is not providing to anyone, here is the transcript of the relevant portion of the speech.
Ladies, I challenge you to a life of rebellion. To recognize that your body is a temple that is deserving of honor, not indiscretion. I challenge you to be women of virtue, finding beauty not in how many unprincipled men you can attract, but rather finding beauty in modesty and self-respect. I challenge you to devote yourself to family, to your children.
If you choose to have a career, God’s blessings upon you, but I challenge you to recognize what the world scoffs at…that your greatest role of your life will be that of wife and mother. That the greatest impact you will ever contribute to our world is a loving and devoted investment into the lives of your precious children. To solve the problems plaguing our society, we don’t need more women as CEOs, we need more women as invested mothers.
Men, I challenge you to a life of rebellion. To recognize that manliness is not defined by who bench presses the most, or who scores with the most women. I challenge you to recognize that the measure of a man is found in his character – his honesty, how well he can control his urges, his temptations, his desires...setting them aside for the good of others. I challenge you to find a woman to love, to commit yourself to her and her alone for the rest of your life.
I challenge you to be man enough that when a provocatively dressed woman comes on the television, turn the channel. Send the message to your wife that she alone captivates you and she is in competition with no one. You want to be a rebel – that’s a rebel. I challenge you to lead your homes in the pathway of righteousness. Provide moral clarity for your children and unyielding hard work for your wife.
So many times I’ve heard others compliment my wife for supporting my ministry, supporting what I do. They have it backwards. I work to support her ministry, what she does in raising our children. And it’s an honor to do so. To solve the problems plaguing our society, we don’t need more men as millionaire entrepreneurs, we need more men acting as fierce defenders of their wives and providers for their children.
I doubt that Meg Whitman would look at her children and tell them that what she's done at work is more significant and important to her than what she did raising and caring for them. That's my point. Home is most important for all of us. As Micah Clark at the AFA-IN, to date the only news agency I am aware of that has bothered to report this story accurately, stated:
True or False: "You can never invest too much time in your children, but you can spend too much time in the office." If that statement is true, (and it is) what does that reveal . . . other than Peter was right? Besides, all he really said was that the pursuit of career must not crowd out, or overrule, your primary and most important role as a mom or a dad.
.... .... .... .... .... .... I'm very proud of my nephew Peter. And I'm happy for him. It's not every day a man is blessed by being persecuted for righteousness sake. .... |

Buttprints in the Sand
One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some strange prints appeared,
And I asked the Lord, "What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat,
"But Lord, they are too big for feet."
And I asked the Lord, "What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat,
"But Lord, they are too big for feet."
"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you along.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."
"For miles I carried you along.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."
"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up,
And there I dropped you on your butt."
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up,
And there I dropped you on your butt."
"Because in life, there comes a time,
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

Ward Cleaver Becomes Homer Simpson
Generally it is politically incorrect for commercials to portray women as stupid and ignorant. And this commercial would never have been produced if the wise and informed male had been white. But Black trumps White Female as Female (of any color) trumps White Male.
And obviously, the faux French model and oaf could never be black. That would be like resurrecting Buckwheat.
I dream of a day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to be portrayed on television as complete and utter dumb asses. Then we will know we are free at last and truly equal.

Home Improvements
With the election results still giving me pain, I have decided to spend my money while it is still worth something.
I had my driveway paved, but you'll just have to imagine that.
In my bedroom my TV sat upon ugly 5 foot tall shelves that were basically unstained pine boards screwed together... And my TV was tipped forward by placing the base on telephone books.
The mounting device shown below cost 50 bucks at Sam's Club and took 2 hours to install... but ten minutes of that were spent planning and another 45 minutes were spent pacing around worrying about it. The ladder shelves cost 99 dollars at Sam's and took 90 minutes to assemble. They match the color of my bedroom furniture. The small light is connected to the bedroom's light switch.
The TV now swivels right and left and up and down. The angle seen here is aimed at my pillow.
Some time in January I'll post pics of my new chairs and tables in my den... They haven't all arrived yet.
In the spring I may sell my stocks and install replacement windows. I figure the money I spend is money that Obama can neither confiscate nor devalue.

Arizona Gun Store Owner Bans Obama Voters
Mr. Reynolds, owner of Southwest Shooting Authority says “business is booming” after his sign and newspaper ad caught the attention of various media outlets. The sign read: “If you voted for Barack Obama, your business is not welcome at Southwest Shooting Authority. You have proven you’re not responsible enough to own a firearm.”
“People are saying that I’ve alienated half of our customers,” Reynolds said, laughing. “No, I haven’t. I haven't alienated any of my customers, because the people who voted for Obama don’t buy guns here. They don't come here at all. I haven’t alienated. I’ve improved things. I have packages sitting on my desk to be shipped to places like Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Idaho, Nevada and California.”
He said he will not be conducting a litmus test to determine the customer’s political views but that he is considering giving discounts to registered Republicans and Libertarians.
Mr. Reynolds admits that there haven’t been any serious attempts by the Obama administration to change America’s gun laws, but he suspects that is coming now that the president has been reelected.
I love this story. Obama and Washington may legislate us into decline, but freedom is an attitude of the heart, and it is a very subborn thing. It will not bow and go away quietly.

From My Half-Brother John
Good morning:
We've done our duty as we always must. Now, if indeed things must get worse before the Lord comes, let's get on with it. God is still on His throne this morning. Instead of worrying about the things that might happen, let's rejoice in what we know "will" happen. If we are ready, what do we have to fear?

Quote of the Day
“Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?”
--Vice President Joe Biden, to Charles Woods, the bereaved father of slain Navy Seal Tyrone Woods at the ceremony in which the four caskets from Benghazi were welcomed home.
According to Mark Stein, this was yelled in a “loud and boisterous” voice as he approached Mr Woods at the ceremony. Biden, who is a "heartbeat away from the presidency," evidently thought this was appropriate for the occasion.
I would comment on Vice President Biden's manners, but Stein said it best: "But the near-parodic locker-room coarseness is grotesque both in its inaptness and in its lack of basic human feeling for a bereaved family forced to grieve in public and as crowd-scene extras to the political bigshot. Just about the only formal responsibility a vice president has is to attend funerals without embarrassing his country. And this preening buffoon of pseudo-blue-collar faux-machismo couldn’t even manage that."

"My faith in Christ is central to my life. My conversion from a pessimistic atheist lost in a world I didn’t understand, to an optimistic believer in a universe created and sustained by a loving God is crucial to me. Obama Booze
As the midwest's most exclusive think-tank, Malott's Blog recognizes its responsibilities to the country and endeavors to share its wisdom with those deemed worthy. It is in that spirit that we seek to advise Governor Romney of our can't miss strategy for the upcoming election.
The entire staff at Malott's Blog believes Romney should suspend all campaign commercials the last week before the election, and use that money to purchase several thousand cases of cheap scotch whiskey. To each bottle attach a note which reads, "You got your Obama Phone... Here is your Obama Booze. So relax! This election is in the bag! Help me celebrate. Yours truly, Barrack."
On Monday November 5th distribute the Obama Booze in all heavily Democrat Precincts in every swing state across the nation.
On election day, November 6th, the freebie-loving reprobate base of the Democrat Party will be too hungover to get out and vote.
It just makes sense.

Amazing Bonanza Facts for October
The character Hoss Cartwright was actually named Eric Haas Cartwright. Hoss Cartwright was born in 1836, somewhere between California and Nevada. He is the son of Ben Cartwright and his second wife, Inger Borgstrom, a Swedish immigrant.
The opening credits would alternate the order among the four stars.
Ben Cartwright had three wives: Elizabeth (English), Inger (Swedish) and Marie (French Creole). All three wives were not around long enough to see their children grow up: Elizabeth died in childbirth, Inger was shot by an Indian with an arrow when Hoss was only a few weeks old, and Marie fell off of a horse and was killed when Joe was only five.
Dan Blocker (Hoss) weighed 14 pounds at birth, then the largest baby ever born in Bowie County, Texas.
The Ponderosa/Bonanza Steakhouses are inspired by the television show. The Bonanza Steakhouses were started by Dan Blocker and the Ponderosa Steakhouses were started by businessmen in Canada. Both are now owned by the same company.
Dan Blocker died in 1972 from a blood clot in his lung. Lorne Greene died in 1987 of pneumonia following heart surgery. Michael Landon died in 1991 of pancreatic cancer. Pernell Roberts died in 2010 of pancreatic cancer.
Amazing.

Honey, Bee Poop, and You
When your home is in an enclosed space, like a European honeybee nest is, sanitation and hygiene are crucial. The combs are where the bees store the honey they make and eat, and also where the colony's eggs are laid. If bees deposited their waste anywhere on or near the combs, they'd risk contaminating their food supply and infecting their developing offspring. Unsurprisingly, they don't take that risk. Instead they defecate outside the nest (assuming they're mature enough to fly), or they do it on some hive surface that's well away from the combs.
Well I certainly feel better! How about you?

Romney Impresses
Republicans are jubilant and Democrats are peevish and disappointed after last night's debate in Colorado.
Romney won the support of many Americans last night, both those who watched, and those who didn't watch but will simply hear this morning that he out-performed the great Obama.
And the biggest outcome from last night? Money. Dollars will come flowing into the Romney campaign and that may be more significant than Romney's performance.

The Grownups are Dying Off
As an adult, and by that I mean someone who takes responsibility for himself and his family, I look at this country and am amazed that the upcoming presidential election is even close.
But America is changing... The children are taking over through attrition. And as the car rolls down the hill, all we adults can do is stick our legs out the door and drag our feet.
But we all know where it's going. And even if we win this election, the future and its numbers are against us.

Back in 1976 I watched a made-for-TV movie titled The Lonliest Runner which was the story of a fourteen year old bed-wetter who ran home from school every day to retrieve the wet sheet his mother had hung from his bedroom window to punish him. He races to get there before any of his friends pass the house. All this running helps him become a gold medalist in the Olympics.
The kicker is... At the end of the movie the adult Olympian is played by Little Joe Cartwright, Michael Landon, from Bonanza. (... and Little House) Turns out, Michael Landon wrote the script and directed the movie. Turns out, the script was autobiographical.
Michael Landon (born Eugene Maurice Orowitz) wet the bed till he was 14, and his mother would display his unwashed bed sheets on her clothes line for the entire neighborhood to see. Landon ran track and field in high school and performed well enough to win a scholarship to USC.
I'm pretty sure that everyone named Eugene Maurice wets the bed.
Amazing.

Sununu Trips Over Black Stereotype
Last night on Hannity, John Sununu said, "Look, let me tell you what the big problem with this president is in my opinion. He is absolutely lazy and detached from his job. When he doesn't go and attended 60% of the detailed presidential daily briefings that come from the CIA and thinks he can just skim it..."
I think we will hear calls of racism over this statement. You don't tread even close to black stereotypes these days, much less come right out and use one, no matter how on target it is. And by the time the dust settles, people may think Sununu called Obama a porch monkey.
You can call a black liberal president careless... negligent... imprudent... inattentive. But you must not call him lazy.
Note: The term porch monkey is not a part of my upbringing or Hoosier societal experience. I'm sure I read it on Black and Right or Hip Hop Republican... two interesting Black Conservative sites.

Airport 2012
Back in the spring of 1970 I took my girlfriend to see Airport at the Markland Mall Theater in Kokomo. When the bomb went off on the 707, she sunk her fingernails into my arm.
Airport was the best disaster movie ever made. Earthquake, The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno... None came close to Airport.
One thing all these movies had in common were the subplots... Stories beneath the main story that made you care about the characters.
All that to say this: I look at the world, our economy, the decay of our morals and culture, and I feel as if my life is just a subplot in a disaster movie.
The bomb will detonate. But like everyone else, I'm puttering around in my own little subplot, trying not to think about it.

I believe someone from Harvard claimed this was Jesus' Marriage License, or something like that. My gut tells me that this is actually Obama's Kenyan Birth Certificate and the Lefties at Harvard are trying to confuse us.
As a Christian, someone suggesting that Jesus had a wife makes me very angry. In fact, some Christian friends and I are driving to Massachusetts tomorrow to burn Harvard's Embassy. It seems the reasonable thing to do. We'll make sure the Dean is safely out before we light it up... We're not animals.
Allah oxen free.

The Spirit of Aunt Miranda
I grew up watching Shirley Temple movies and one of the best was Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.
Rebecca's Aunt Miranda evidently had heard enough radio to know that it challenged the traditions, beliefs, and general way of life of God-fearing people. She said, "I know what you show people are, a no-good lot! I took Rebecca out of that unwholesome atmosphere, and I'm not going to put her back into it! She's staying on the farm where I can keep an eye on her."
I've often wondered if the God-fearing people of the 1920's and 30's were concerned about the effects that radio and movies had upon the young of that day. I wonder if they sensed a gradual decrease in God-fearing and a general increase in world-revering as movies and radio grew in influence.
This morning a little girl, maybe nine years old, was baptized after the worship service. She was the very picture of innocence. But by the time she graduates High School, she will have logged thousands upon thousands of hours watching network television whose content would cause Aunt Miranda to have a stroke... And this 18 year old will most likely leave home with a world-view more akin to the writers in Hollywood than the writers of the Bible.
Oddly, I think that is OK with just about everybody I know.

Quote for the Day
"I believe there is far more harm done by unholy and inconsistent Christians than we are aware of. Such men and women are among Satan’s best allies. They pull down, by their lives, what ministers build with their lips. They cause the chariot wheels of the Gospel to bog down. They supply the children of this world with a never-ending excuse for remaining as they are."
--J.C. Ryle 1860-1900 Holiness: Its Nature, Hindrances, Difficulties and Roots
I humbly submit this quote to Organized Religion in America... The "Cult of the Moral Lifestyle."

Tiger Woods? Really?
Lawrence O'Donnell is a moron or a liar.
Mitch McConnell makes a joke about Obama's constant trips to play golf, and O'Donnell calls him a racist.
When O'Donnell slanders a good and decent man like McConnell by calling him a racist, he is fomenting racism and hatred. This isn't the debate of political ideas... This is pure evil.
And who suffers... Every African American who would ever run for the presidency. We elect a black man, and if we criticise his policies in any way, we are racists.
Thanks Lawrence. Lesson learned.

California Farm Labor Shortage
The Western Growers Association told CNBC its members are reporting a 20 percent drop in laborers this year.
The Western Growers Association told CNBC its members are reporting a 20 percent drop in laborers this year.
"We have 100 fewer people this
year," said Sergio Diaz, who provides workers under contract for growers. "We're
having difficulty finding people to do this work."
Most pickers in California are not here legally, a fact of life for decades.
Could someone explain this to me? I hear about all the Illegals in California, and how unemployment is so high there. What gives?
Surely the Illegals aren't living off some sort of government relief, rather than working... Not these noble, hard working souls.

A New Post-Racial Term
On Thursday’s edition of MSNBC’s The Cycle the group discussed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney‘s assertion that President Obama should “take [his] campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago.” Co-host Touré saw what he believes to be explicit racial connotations beneath what Romney was saying, calling it the “niggerization” of the campaign.
“That really bothered me,” he said. “You notice he said anger twice. He’s really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the ‘otherization,’ he’s not like us.”
As a white man I'm not sure I am allowed to quote the word "niggerization." I'm quite sure I'm not allowed to say it.
The reason to vote against Obama is that he is a socialist. Toure' presents another reason that I don't like... It's that he is a black socialist. We elect a black socialist, and we have to listen to black racists calling us racists.
If Obama was a black conservative, conservatives would love him. We'd fall all over him. If Romney had chosen Condoleeza Rice as his running mate we would have fallen all over her. We would have loved the niggerization of The Ticket. For us, it isn't about race.
Only racists are preoccupied by race.

This is my favorite picture of Mom.
She loved her family. She served the Church.
She made incredible pies.
She loved hymns and sang alto.
She tap danced a little.
She came from a broken home, and it showed sometimes.
She had good manners and was kind.
She was a faithful wife for 65 years.
She encouraged her children. Her tenderness held us and made us feel secure and loved. For us, Home was her embrace.

A Handbook for Children
There is so much man-manufactured religious crap out there... and perhaps more than I'd like to admit resides in this blog...
The crap manufacturers mean well (we do!), but maybe it's important to get back to the basics -regularly- and read Matthew 5 thru 7.
These three chapters contain the basic instructions, the primer on living that Jesus spoke to people just like us. It's full, and it's concise, and it contains one very scary warning. It's what our Creator chose to teach in His classroom.
One of my podcast preachers, John McArthur, criticised red-letter edition Bibles for suggesting that the words of Jesus were more important than the rest. John may be right, but maybe spoiled little worldly rich kids like us should get the basics down before we worry about... the rest. Sometimes -the rest- can be an exercise in avoiding the basics that are just too hard.

Pneumonia is an Old Man's Friend
Pneumonia is called the old man's friend because, left untreated, the sufferer often lapses into a state of reduced consciousness, slipping peacefully away in their sleep, giving a dignified end to a period of often considerable suffering.
My mother was very nauseated a couple days ago and was vomiting. I went to the nursing home and sat with her, occasionally wiping her chin... Something she couldn't do for herself. It was very hard to see her suffer as she looked to me for the help I could not give.
I got up early yesterday and went in to check on her. She was better and I ended up feeding her. I'm sure she could tell that I was an amateur at this because she gave me a couple bad looks when I didn't do it right. 58 years ago these roles were reversed.
Anyway, an X-ray of here lungs showed a little bit of pneumonia, and I have to wonder if this might be her ticket Home.

Supporting Chick-fil-A
I happened upon an article by Barnabas Piper, a Believer who wrote that Huckabee's Chick-fil-A Appreciation day was a bad idea:
"Homosexuality is one of the most defining, contentious, and complex issues facing this generation of the church. We cannot sacrifice our biblical convictions but neither can we sacrifice the church’s ability to serve people of opposing viewpoints and lifestyles."
"Convictions, especially biblical ones, will divide people. That is inevitable, but not desirable. The separation of believers and unbelievers, when it happens, must be a last resort or an unavoidable result. Actions to the contrary, those that clearly promote an “us versus them” mentality, are most often unhelpful."
OK... first of all I can't imagine God sending anyone into Sodom and Gomorrah to serve the Homosexuals there. He would more likely send a prophet to preach the truth.
Maybe God wants us to love Homosexuals and show it by being polite and telling them the truth. Trying to make them think we're nice seems a little horizontal and sounds like something Joel Olsteen would come up with. Maybe Mr Piper believes that if he backs down in the face of this controversy, and if he presents Jesus -in just the right way- his carefully chosen words might work wonders. Maybe, but I don't think salvation comes about that way.
Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day will anger people who love perversion and hate the Church. But it's not us vs. them, it's them vs. God. They are mocking God... They are persecuting our Lord. They will repent of this or they will go to hell. We should love them enough, be kind enough, to tell them that.
Homosexuals, like everyone else, have eternity in their hearts. Our job is to speak the truth. Their job is to make their choice. Any other approach is about the cleverness of men, not the saving power of God.

Malott Wins Copper at 30th Olympiad
The entire staff at Malott's Blog wishes to congratulate our venerable leader for winning the Copper Medal in the 32 meter Augmented-Breast Stroke. It was a close race and we feared his zits might produce enough drag to hold him back, but Malott sprinted the last four meters and touched-out his closest competition, a Saudi woman in a burqa.
"I've never pushed myself that hard and I'm pretty sure I soiled myself," said Malott, basking in the glow of his new-found celebrity.
To say we are proud of our leader is to say more than we are presently prepared to say.

A Hoosier Moment
While driving in Kokomo today I arrived at a 4-Way Stop at the same moment two gentlemen in a rust-laden pickup stopped there. Actually the driver of the truck arrived a split second before I did, but he seemed so deeply engrossed in conversation with his fellow traveler, I continued into the intersection... just as he too decided to cross. He slammed on his brakes, as would have I, had I not felt committed to my venture. But I'm sure he understood because he attempted to flash me the peace sign, though in the confusion of the moment he managed only to raise his middle finger.
But the misunderstanding did not detract from this warm exchange of rural brotherhood.
In his friendly enthusiasm, he followed me for a couple blocks abiding very close to my rear bumper, and in the my rear-view mirror I noticed that he seemed to be shouting... no doubt a polite cordiality of some kind. And I would have stopped, but time was short... and my schedule denied me of what promised to be a delightful encounter.

Dullympics
Is there anything more excruciating than the Olympics? From the endless, tedious soccer games to the subjective judging in female gymnastics ( A recently deceased sister is worth at least a bronze medal ), the Olympics are the greatest entertainment in the world if you really, really have nothing else to do.
Olympic organisers scrambled to halt a public backlash over the sight of empty seats at competition venues, recruiting an army of soldiers and students to fill the voids and upgrading spectators with cheaper tickets.
(I think the soldier in the middle found something more interesting to watch than the Games. Perhaps a pigeon.)
And the opening ceremony... What an embarrassment for Great Britain. Oh sure, Paul McCartney still has an amazing voice for a corpse, but whoever thought up the Red-Eyed-Bug-Bikes had to be on drugs. I myself had to look away. The Queen was surely soiling herself in the Royal Box as she suffered through... ... Whatever that was supposed to be.
But I have a good book to read, and there is always programming to watch that I find more exciting than the Olympics, like reruns of The Golden Girls... in Spanish.
So let the Games drag on... And on... And on...

Let's All Eat at Chick-fil-A
Michelle Malkin-National Review:
Chick-fil-A is an American success story. Founded by Georgian entrepreneur Truett Cathy in 1946, the family-owned chicken-sandwich chain is one of the country’s largest fast-food businesses. It employs some 50,000 workers across the country at 1,500 outlets in nearly 40 states and the District of Columbia. The company generates more than $2 billion in revenue and serves millions of happy customers with trademark Southern hospitality.
So, what’s the problem? Well, Chick-fil-A is run by devout Christians who believe in strong marriages, devoted families, and the highest standards of character for their workers. The restaurant chain’s official corporate mission is to “glorify God” and “enrich the lives of everyone we touch.” The company’s community-service initiatives, funded through its WinShape Foundation, support foster-care, scholarship, summer-camp, and marriage-enrichment programs. On Sunday, all Chick-fil-A stores close so workers can spend the day at worship and rest.
Over the past month, several progressive-activist blogs have waged an ugly war against Chick-fil-A. The company’s alleged atrocity: One of its independent outlets in Pennsylvania donated some sandwiches and brownies to a marriage seminar run by the Pennsylvania Family Institute, which happens to oppose same-sex marriage.
Over the weekend, New York Times reporter Kim Severson gave the Chick-fil-A bashers a coveted Sunday A-section megaphone...
I've only had their chicken sandwich once (I loved it) because there are no franchises in this area. But I hope Christians everywhere will step up to the plate and support these people. The persecution of Christians is just beginning...

Rabid Fun Facts for 2012
As you you know, August 1st signals the beginning of rabies season in rural America, and Malott's Blog has rounded up some facts to amaze and entertain at the many local Rabies Festivals and Fairs.
The chart below lists (as of December 2011) the number of each species found rabid in Indiana since 1962 and the last year in which a rabies case in that species occurred.
I love lists. This information was acquired from the Indiana State Board of Health.

All the Church is a Stage
I'm developing a new theory about organized religion in America. I define organized religion as what takes place in those buildings that the Bride of Christ and other believers visit on Sunday mornings.
Maybe it's because we grew up watching television, (which is sitting on your butt and inviting strangers into your home to entertain you - a phenomenon peculiar to the last 60 years)... but in our generation organized religion has come to be all about entertainment and performers. If the entertainment is good, the numbers increase. If the entertainment is bad...
My theory is that there are many frustrated orators, frustrated comedians, frustrated rock stars, frustrated musicians... and yes, even frustrated dancers and actors who have found the attention they crave... an audience... a stage... right up there next to the pulpit. The bad ones play to small audiences, and the good ones play to large audiences.
I assume that on stage, the Bride is in the minority, just as she is in the audience. You'd really have to spend Monday through Saturday with these people to find out.
This year I want my life to be more about the Bridegroom and less about this world. I want to turn off my TV, come out from this ugly culture, and be separate. I want to pray more, and do a better job of honoring God with my life. And on Sunday morning, I want to find the best darn show in town.

Bury Lenin?
I read on Drudge that the Russians are considering burying the embalmed body of Vladimir Lenin that has been on display in a glass coffin since his death in 1924.
I hate the idea. Vlad, the greatest Russian socialist, is still a terrific tourist attraction.
In fact, I think America's greatest socialist, Barrack Obama, should be embalmed and put under glass on display. This week is good for me.

Blacks Boo Romney
Mitt Romney was booed when he spoke to the NAACP, an organization that claims to look out for the concerns of African Americans.
No big deal. If Obama spoke to the Ku Klux Klan, an organization that claims to look out for the concerns of white people, he'd probably get booed, too.
Does "Blacks Boo Romney" sound like a great name for a Blues artist?"
Anyway, I guess there was also some polite applause when Romney spoke. That's nice.

President Obama Makes New Friends
The campaign trail is a lonely place, and who can blame our young president for hitting on a couple women who had been drinking.... The blond shown here expressing her dominance by grabbing the president's pants by the fly.
The entire staff at Malott's Blog wishes the president good hunting!
