Pardon Me Bush

David Limbaugh writes: ...we know beyond any doubt that Richard Armitage, not Libby, was the leaker. Since Libby had committed no "underlying" crime, he had no motive to commit perjury. He had nothing to cover up.

Yes, and it seems that in a case with as much abundant gray and shady areas as this one, that "motive" should have been taken into consideration. But when you're looking for a lamb to sacrifice...

We've recently been reminded of the rash of Clinton pardons...
(really?... reminded by whom?... did Katy Couric highlight this?)
...at the close of their second term in exchange for political contributions and other self-serving reasons. But even before that black mark on America's presidential history, I chronicled in my first book Clinton's abuse of the power to pardon FALN terrorists to boost Hillary's popularity with Puerto Rican voters in her New York Senate race.

This "double standard"... this "African American calling the albino black" (as we say in Greentown)... highlights the unlevel playing field that arises when one political party has the media and popular culture in its back pocket.

For it is not the amazingly obvious hypocrisy of the Democrats that is shocking... But the fact that they parade it around largely unchallenged.

Update:

To "anonymous" who left the comment suggesting that I am a racist:

It is the downfall of the colorblind that they are racially insensitive.

It is the downfall of the colorblind, conservative achiever that he expects the same high ethical standards of all races and nationalities.

It is the downfall of the confident that they wonder why anyone would choose to walk around with a chip on their shoulder... So fragile and easily offended.

It is the downfall of those who recognize that - the differences in the races are limited to the physical - that they are unsympathetic and impatient with racially-based "victim mentality."

Anonymous... That's the closest thing to an apology that you will get from me.

Your comments about "Mexicans on bikes" and "African Americans calling albinos black" makes you sound like just another racist to me.

I think you need to take a long look at yourself and your "Christian religion" and see what a hypocrit "you" are.

I think I hit a nerve. Your update makes you sound like a pseudointellectual snob. And a bigot.

Ouch!

When a limited creature such as myself tries to be profound, it is the height of insensitivity to peg him with the "psudo-intellectual" title.

And yes, I believe the hyphen is correct. (Not that I think that is important)

And by the way, are you female, single, 40-55, blond, leggy, interested in having pseudo-intellectual conversations and debates?

I wouldn't be interested. I think you and your politics are disgusting.

Anonymous, I imagine Malott is devastated. You seem like such a pleasant person. I know I prefer the company of those whose sole contribution to "intelligent" debate is name-calling ("pseudo-intellectual", "snob", "bigot", "disgusting"...). My, my... you're on a roll. Who wouldn't want to spend an evening with such an engaging conversationalist?

Anonymous,

I can be as disgusting as you like. I can also do foreign accents and I'm willing to wear costumes.

To Anonymous,

I've grown suspicious of the sanctimonious types, like yourself, in the media and elsewhere who slobber all over themselves in self-congratulation when they publicly condemn statements or actions as racist. Our society has allowed itself to be bullied by certain race hucksters who explot none racial comments such as, "African Americans calling albinos black" and try to condemn them as racist.

Malott,

I must say I am very impressed by the powerful and profound words in your update. I couldn't agree with you more!
