Quote for the Day

"...the Federal Judiciary; an irresponsible body working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the States, and the government of all be consolidated into one. When all government... in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the centre of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated.
--Thomas Jefferson

It could at least go SLOWER instead of trying to run over all assemblance of common sense and decency.

When the government can make Medicaid and Medicare work and in a cost-effective manner - THEN I'd be willing to consider a Pres. Obama health care reform proposal.

Until then...quit messing the rest of us up! Help those who need it, relax the qualifications - especially for those of us who were born in THIS country and have lived here (unless family served our country overseas).

Leave the rest alone until you fix what is already broken!

Where's Fred Thompson when we need him?

Fred Thompson has a great radio program. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to vote for him in the primary last year. It was a great feeling to go to the polling booth and vote with such conviction even knowing it wasn't going anywhere. Yesterday he commented that it would be cheaper and more efficient to just give everyone who truly can't afford it the money to buy health insurance. He had the good sense to exclude those who can afford it but choose not to spend their money on it.

Grammy,

I like that plan. But Obama wouldn't like it one bit, because it doesn't give him control over people's lives. That's what this is really about. It's not about helping people or saving money. It's about taking control. Period.

Grammy & Skye, the same way it would have been cheaper (and more effective) to give every American tax-payer a check for $10K instead of the crap-sandwich stimulus he signed into law.

Grammy - Thank you for understanding my admiration of Fred! I voted for him in the primary as you did.

Let's hope this next congressional go round we will have enough voters with common sense to vote a few more republican's in office in order to even things out a bit!

If we can find republicans with common sense & conservative ideology re-emerging from the mess they helped create.
