Quote for the Day

"Part of the undertow in the coming election is going to be President Obama's leadership, and the Republicans will make a case... a version of, 'Listen, he's a nice person, he's very articulate... but he couldn't sell watermelons on a highway with a state trooper flagging down traffic.'"
--Dan Rather... on Chris Matthew's "Hardball"

Why is it that when Democrats come up with the most racist language (always with the intent to smear Republicans), they get a pass from the race-grievance-mongers?

It takes a Dan Rather to think about Obama and watermelon in the same sentence. That sort of thing never occurs to me.

Cue Rather's hypothetical response to me: Oh, you think it. You're just careful never to say it.

Me back to Rather: You have no idea what I think, but you're the one who let those words come out of your mouth.

Sheesh! The smears never cease.

Can you IMAGINE the fallout if a right-winger had said that?
