The Trouble With Huckabee

Florida's Primary arrives on Tuesday. It looks to be a contest between John McCain and Mitt Romney... And the winner will most likely carry momentum into Super Tuesday on February 5th. It's a classic race between a liberal and a conservative.

But Romney may lose to McCain in Florida because he has to split the conservative vote with Mike Huckabee.

There are many conservative Christians who express an odd kind of loyalty to this former Baptist minister... As if they are somehow spiritually obligated to do the "right thing" and vote for Huckabee... The Christian.

But the way I see it... If Huckabee's former vocation was an issue, he would still be a humble Baptist pastor - not an ambitious politician.

Romney is the only conservative left in the race... Hopefully he will still be in it after Florida and Super Tuesday. It would be a shame if Huckabee's dubious appeal ended up "sticking us" with McCain.

Wow...Chris...I don't know anything I can add or detract other than I see no viable candidate to vote for, myself.

Guess we can start practicing the term: President Barack Obama
