Hasta la Vista, Baby!

A bad immigration bill died this morning.

Senator AbdulaDick Lugar - shown above with a group of his former gay lovers - was unable, even with the help of his fellow arrogant senators, to thwart the will of the American people.
*****
The following odd combination of Repubs and Dems (many of whom are running for re-election next year...) listened to the 80 % of the American people who were against this amnesty bill, and voted against it. Thanks guys.

I don't know why, but getting your comments window to open is taking a long time. Just a "heads up".

Btw: The vote today almost reinstates some hope there are those on capitol hill that have common sense. That, or perhaps they are afraid of being voted out? Sigh...if only we didn't have to put up with election commercials, I'd be in favor of two year terms for every one of them!

Oh, I feel better now....

Can it really be true??? My throat was already starting to feel swollen from the way they were trying to cram this bill down there.

Of the senators voting against cloture, these are the ones who are up for election next year, which may have given them extra incentive to listen to their constituents:

Alexander (R-TN) Allard (R-CO) Baucus (D-MT) Chambliss (R-GA) Cochran (R-MS) Coleman (R-MN) Collins (R-ME) Cornyn (R-TX) Dole (R-NC) Domenici (R-NM) Enzi (R-WY) Harkin (D-IA) Inhofe (R-OK) Landrieu (D-LA) McConnell (R-KY) Roberts (R-KS) Rockefeller (D-WV) Sessions (R-AL) Smith (R-OR) Stevens (R-AK) Sununu (R-NH) Warner (R-VA)

Now if they can get busy securing the border, building the fence, and sanctioning employers who hire illegals, then we just might be in business.
