I know from experience that public speakers are going to make unintentional errors.
What annoys me is that had this been former President Bush, he would have been nailed to the tree a thousand times over already by Big Media. The hypocrisy of it all.
You know, I can completely understand Obama's mistake, and even excuse it, because we've all said stupid things without thinking.
However, as ChuckL said, the hypocrisy of the media is once again fully evident. That, is not excusable.
And what bothers me more than the comment is Obama's "celebrity" approach to the presidency. It's not all fun and games and fame...he needs to be working on the very serious issues that our country is facing instead of joking about bowling scores. (and I can totally decimate him there, by the way!)
Our president needs to decide if he wasn't to be the president, or if he wants to be an entertainer. He also needs to decide if he wants to be president or if he wants to be liked. If you look for the ego strokes, you will not be a good president. I think he looks for the ego strokes.
He's making some bad decisions, bad policies, and has some very bad advisors.
And I bet it was all about being an entertainer. Oprah must not have explained the difference.

Yesterday Rush Limbaugh made the comparison between these two videos... The sophisticated Obama and the unsophisticated Palin.
The contrast is vivid when you mix in the fact that Obama wants no restrictions on abortion so that special olympic kids won't have to happen.
His stance on abortion makes him a bad man... I believe his comment comes from his heart and illustrates his regard for special needs kids.
Further... What you joke about in an aside with a friend is different than what you say on national television... Maybe it shouldn't be, but it is.
This man is not very bright... or callous... or both.
Out of the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaks. (Matthew 12:34)
