Quote of the Day

We drag Yosemite Sam across the finish line, and then after that we deal with the next set of difficulties, challenges, or what have you. --Rush Limbaugh

I was listening when he said that, and I thought it was pretty funny.

I like it!

I wish I could sit back and just view the whole election dispassionately because I know it will be interesting, but as it is, I am just ready for it to be OVER.

Don't let the media discourage your friends from voting. It's going to take a lot of us to do the dragging.

Christina,

I like the new kitty picture. It makes you look less... stressed.

Thanks Skyepuppy. The new cat picture is actually of our real cat, Bob (a girl). She is about the closest thing to zero stressed as you will ever find.

I walked in the living room one day, looked down in one corner and there was Bob with the tiara on her head. Emily had put it there and I guess Bob liked it, so of course, I had to snap a picture.

Hey Guys? No joke, I was sent a video of Obama speaking to Arab Americans...it's the real deal. Kinda scarey how he has to address one group separately from the others. I posted the video...wonder if he'll try to throw me out of the U.S. like he did the reporters off his plane today?

He spoke to Arabs? Honest to God, ARABS? Next thing you know he'll be declaring the stereotyping of entire ethnic groups to be something only the ignorant and stupid would do.

You couldn't be more of a cliche, stereotype, caricature or otherwise if you tried. And I do suspect that you are trying.

Well said Jacob.

I was trying to be "politically correct". For a man who claims he doesn't see us as "black America or white America or any other but the United States of America"; he then turns and singles out different groups to speak to - saying different things to each group. THAT is the point.

Btw, there are Arab Americans in my family...so no stereotype involved there. :-P

Tsofah,
Really? So what if he spoke to a group of Arabs? How is that any different from him speaking to ANY group? When McCain or George Hussein Bush speaks to one of their groups -- say the Heritage Foundation -- how is that not EXACTLY the same thing as this?

Organizations are made of people with similar concerns and feelings, and are completely legitimate audiences for a specific message, and it's no reason to paint it as a conspiracy. Does everything have to be so black and white?

I must say....I love reading these silly right wing posts! You guy's sure are good for a laugh. The way you always refer to Obama by his full name, predicting the end of the world if he wins, and always taking jabs at those who don't believe as you do. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps, some of us in this country are sick of the downturn this country has taken under your boy Bush? That for us , Obama will be change for the better. You all seem to believe that someone voting democrat doesn't know what the issues are and doesn't bother to educate themselves before heading into the voting booth. To that you are wrong! We just have a different opinion. Open your minds.

Mojo,
Did you read my last reply?
It doesn't matter WHO is doing the speaking; as I had problems with Bush doing similar things and said so.
The problem is WHAT is being said. I had problems with Bush on this too.
However, since Obama has said he wants to see a UNITED States of America, should he not start doing that by talking to all groups saying the same consistent thing?
Btw, not all Arabs like what Obama says to them.
Not all Arabs are Muslim extremists. Not all Arabs are terrorists. I get that. I know that.
Like I said, I'd like some consistency in the now president-elect. That is because HE promised it.
(No comparisons to any other candidate...just his own words)
