DAMASCUS, April 5 (UPI) -- The head of a U.N. agency charged with caring for Palestinian refugees said the United States has offered to receive 7,000 Palestinians who fled Iraq.
Karen Koning AbuZayd, commissioner general of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, said Thursday no specific country has offered to receive Palestinian refugees in Iraq, "but I know the United States confirmed it can take 7,000 of them."
So no specific country has offered to receive them? Let us ponder why...
Hmmmm. Maybe there is concern that they have nothing to offer the "receiving" country. Maybe the "terrorist suicide bomber thing" is a concern. Has anyone thought about giving them back to the Palestinians?

Somehow, I get the feeling that "the United States" didn't offer to take them in. I suspect it was some stupid twit high up in a government job who made the offer for us.

Why is it disgusting that we don't want to take in 7,000 more refugees who may hate us, but you don't seem disgusted by the fact that the Arab world refuses to take these same people in? Only Americans disgust you?
These people are Palestinians. Let them go to Palestinian territories, where they know the language and the culture, and if the PA won't take them in, then I'll be more than happy for you to be disgusted--at the PA.
Part of the story Skypuppy that Mallott fails to mention, is that Israel will not allow refugee Palestinians into the occupied territories.
All the neighbouring countries have huge refugee problems.
In Iran and Syria's case, the US is actively hampering aid efforts and refusing the transfer of international currency to alleviate their suffering.
The US caused this problem. The US should be trying to alleviate the fallout.
