Palestine

Skyepuppy has a fascinating and revealing post about Palestine that you don't want to miss.

In it she states,"I have not stopped being dismayed by President Bush and Secretary of State Rice over their approach to the Israel/Palestinian situation."

In regards to the Great Palestinian State - the joke and tragedy of our times... I would only comment that - surely George and Condi know what's going on. But sometimes you go through the motions. You keep up appearances. You smile and read your lines - because the alternative is worse.

Then again, Peggy Noonan wrote of Ronald Reagan on what would have been his 96th birthday:
Ronald Reagan told the truth to a world made weary by lies. He believed truth was the only platform on which a better future could be built. He shocked the world when he called the Soviet Union "evil," because it was, and an "empire," because it was that, too. He never stopped bringing his message to the people of the world, to Europe and China and in the end the Soviet Union. And when it was over, the Berlin Wall had been turned into a million concrete souvenirs, and Soviet communism had fallen. But of course it didn't fall. It was pushed.

Yup. There's that.

Too bad Reagan couldn't tell the truth about everthing like ... illegal arms deals.

Too bad he had to work with a Congress full of Democrats that cared more about their snivelling, backstabbing politics than America and freedom in the western hemisphere.

The more things change, the more Democrats stay the same.

Wait, are you talking about Clinton and his Republican congresss that cared more about his johnson than anything else?

The more things change, the more Republicans stay the same.

And no matter how crappy Congress was, how does that give Reagan a free pass?

Answer: It doesn't. Get your head out of the sand or whereever it's stuck.
