Betting on the Middle East

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israel launched more air strikes against Hamas targets in Gaza on Saturday, killing at least one person, as top officials considered a broader strategy for stopping rockets being fired at Israeli towns.

Earlier, officials from Hamas and Fatah agreed in Egyptian-brokered talks to a new ceasefire starting on Saturday, though it was unclear whether the deal would hold. Previous truces collapsed.

The air strikes have plunged the Palestinians deeper into turmoil after nine days of fierce internal fighting verging on civil war between ruling Hamas Islamists and President Mahmoud Abbas’s secular Fatah faction.

When it comes to Palestinian "factions"... Always bet your money on the Islamists! While both groups are made up of hate-filled sociopaths, the Islamists have that added intangible... That nuance... That religious edge... That makes them just a "tad" more deadly than the secularists.

Just one man's opinion.

This Islamist on Secularist fighting is just a glimpse of what we will soon see when the U.S. bails on the fledgling democracy in Iraq and a civil war ensues. Then it will be a Shiite on Sunni bloodbath that will encompass the entire Middle East and drive gasoline prices through the roof... Until the Democrats step in with price controls and then we'll have a gasoline shortage and waiting lines at the pumps.

Put your money on the Shiites.

Just one man's opinion.

I'm just glad you mentioned the effect on gas prices AFTER you mentioned the potential bloodbath of the innocents.

Thanks Janice!

And Mojo,
For me, it's always been about our national security... Not oil.
