RINOs Win

Yesterday a Republican stronghold in upstate New York chose to elect a Democrat and give Pelosi another vote rather than be represented by a Reagan conservative.

It was a smack down for Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, and conservatives everywhere. It was a win for the McCains, the Grahams, for Newt Gingrich and other compromisers... and it illustrates the fissure in the Republican party.

There is nothing to celebrate today... Because nothing good happened for conservatives yesterday.

I can think of two good things that happened yesterday. In both Maine and Washington State the populace showed that the majority still believe in the Bible when they stood up for traditional marriage.

CG,

That's a good point. But the vote in Maine was 53% to 47%... If the vote is that close in a Republican-leaning state, I wonder if it's just a matter of time until we get some sort of national legislation allowing gay marriage.

Hope I'm wrong.

I hope you are wrong to. The interesting thing is that in every state that legalized gay marriage it was instigated by "bought and paid for" legislators or by judges legislating from the bench. It has never been approved in any state by a vote of the people, and in several instances has been revoked by a vote of the people, even in heavily Democratic California.
