Time for an "honor killing " update...
Police in Arizona are hunting for an Iraqi-American father who they say ran over his daughter with his car to punish her for becoming "too Westernized" and rebuffing the conservative ways he valued.

Noor Faleh Almaleki (above) is in "life-threatening condition," Peoria Police spokesman Mike Tellef told ABCNews.
I'd hope that every reasonable, moderate, and law-abiding Muslim man in the country cringes when he reads such a story... Or do many secretly admire and sympathize with this man? Their silence may reveal something very ugly.

It's been a little over a year and a half since... two teen sisters were found shot to death inside a cab outside a Texas hotel, and their father, who police say is the sole suspect in the New Year's Day killings, remains at large.

Authorities tell ABC News that the investigation so far has produced few solid leads as to Yaser Abdel Said's whereabouts, and they fear he may have fled the country, perhaps even to his native Egypt.

So far Rifqa Bary, the Ohio Muslim teen who converted to Christianity and then fled her family fearing for her life, only to be ordered home by a Florida judge... So far she is still alive... And quaking in fear, I suspect.

On this subject, I would recommend reading A Thousand Splendid Suns. Where are the feminists when there's a real oppression of women issue?

Don't forget about the February 2009 beheading in New York by a member of the RoP faithful.

It does say something about the ummah when the only thing you hear, regarding something like this, is crickets.

Good point Grammy. I've asked many times where is NOW, Code Pink(o) and the United Nations Human Rights Commission when something this deadly occurs.

Rifqa Bary's situation is a little different than the others. Her parents were supportive of her becoming a cheerleader, etc. They are a bit different than those who engage in honor killings. It's rare I do this, but in this case, I do not think these parents are such to be concerned about.

Besides, if anything happened to their daughter - they'd be the first ones arrested.

Tsofah, I beg to differ. Cheerleading and coverting to Christianity are two very different things. The father HAS made threats to Bary claiming this has dishonored him. The American legal system means nothing to this father.

Also, the family is here illegially. They came here on a humanitain visa seeking treatment for Rifqa and never went home.

The common denominator is islam.

Janice:

If they are here illegally, then, they should be deported asap.

I've not heard a thing about the dad threatening her. I've heard that people she stays with have told Rifqa that her father would kill her.

According to Rifqa, her father has not said it to her. At least, that's what Fox news reported, and I do trust them. sigh.
