I love coming to your blog because I just never know what I might find. :)
I watched a Cary Grant movie (well, the end of it) on my lunch hour right before Christmas. I knew better...I cried. Then I had to go back and explain to the fine folks at work why I was crying over a Cary Grant movie.
This is why I should stick to Wife Swap on my lunch hour
Bekah,
Well it's just a good thing I understand what the "wife swap" program is about. I might of had to make a call to your dad.
What about Jack Lemmon (The Great Race) as Supporting Actor? He was magnificent as Professor Fate/Prince Hapnick, and he's one of my favorites.
BTW, I once took my son (when he was younger) to the auto museum at Balboa Park in San Diego, and it just happened to be at the time they had Professor Fate's car on loan for display!!! SO COOL! I love that movie.
SP,
Never been a fan of Jack Lemmon, except of course "Some Like it Hot"
..."Missing"..."The Odd Couple"...and I've never see "The Great Race."
There are so many good actors I left out.
Chris,
I bought The Odd Couple just for the restaurant scene where Felix tries to clear his sinuses. It never stops being funny.
And I recommend watching The Great Race, but only when you're in the right frame of mind for a campy, semi-slapstick movie that doesn't take itself seriously. Tony Curtis (dressed in white), Keenan Wynn his sidekick, Jack Lemmon (dressed in black), Peter Falk his sidekick, Natalie Wood the annoying but beautiful fighter for women's rights. Aahh... Hmmm, maybe I'll watch that again tomorrow.
Some great names and great movies on this list! I love most of them!
An "honorable mention" from me is "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World"! It was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre - and I loved the slapstick.
(And no...I'm not THAT old! Our town had drive-in's only. We had to drive to a different town to go to a theatre. ;-D )
