WASHINGTON — The entire top echelon of Newt Gingrich's presidential campaign resigned on Thursday, a stunning mass exodus that left his bid for the Republican nomination in tatters. But the former House speaker vowed defiantly to remain a candidate.
NBC News confirmed the departures to Gingrich's team, including... campaign manager Rob Johnson, and strategist Dave Carney.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry today will announce top members of his presidential campaign staff, which this week moved into offices, in a former steam laundry at 8th and Congress, in downtown Austin: Rob Johnson, campaign manager; David Carney, chief strategist.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Iowa Republican caucus-goers shows Gingrich with 32%... while Texas Governor Rick Perry grabs six percent (6%).
I have to wonder if Perry staffers Rob Johnson and David Carey are questioning their decision to dump Newt.

Or if Perry's questioning his decision to take on the two guys who helped put Newt at the bottom. Their track record is pretty consistent.
