The Problem with Ted Cruz

Cruz is a guy I would love to stick in the White House without having to worry about his electability.

There is something in his manner and facial expressions that scream "fake" and "creepy" and it makes me want to shake him and say, "Ted... You come across like a very poor high school drama student."

I have read two articles from two very different sources that comment on the way he emotes.

In Psychology Today Richard Cytowic M.D. writes, "It’s hard to look at Ted Cruz’s face. He’s a brilliant orator with a sharp legal mind. But his expression unsettles me. I know my reaction is visceral and automatic, but as a neurologist it is my business to notice things out of the ordinary and probe them. The Senator’s atypical expressions leave me uneasy.

And then there is that open “O” of the Senator’s mouth that photos capture over and over. I don’t know what to make of it. But he makes it when he overtly emotes—shows us as well as tells us that he is determined, irritated, or above it all—whereas speakers who are angry, indignant, or rhetorically displeased push their mouth forward in a pout. He doesn’t. Google “Ted Cruz smiling,” and judge for yourself. For the record I am not a Democrat. I’m at a loss to verbalize what unsettles me so when I watch the freshman senator. But it leaves me cold."

Of the Republican field, I think Ted Cruz would make the best president.  But I work with little girls who are in their twenties and thirties who are as conservative as I am, but don't do politics... And when they tell me that Ted Cruz is creepy... I know Ted has a problem with his image.

And that needs to be considered, because we have to win this election.

The Trump Tapes: Vol. 1

How Do You Solve a Problem Like the Donald?

Trump is saying exactly what conservative Republicans want to hear... But after listening to the video above you may come to only one of the following conclusions:

1.  Trump was lying before.
2.  Trump is lying now.
3.  Trump underwent an amazing transformation.
4.  Trump has no core values.

I am having a difficult time believing number 3.

We are one liberal supreme court justice away from losing much of the freedom and autonomy we currently enjoy.

I believe it is in our best interest to pick the most conservative politician that can win.

I believe I know who that is... And it isn't Donald Trump... Nor is it the guy I like the most.

Surely the Democrats Can Do Better

If Brian Williams, who lied about being forced down by enemy fire in a helicopter over Iraq, is deemed unworthy to be an anchorman...

Then surely Hillary Clinton, who lied about landing in Bosnia and running with her head down because of "sniper fire," is unworthy of the presidency.

She lied about being named after Sir Edmund Hillary... She lied to the families of the victims of the Benghazi attacks.

I don't expect the Democrats to nominate a conservative.  But can't they find someone with at least a modicum of character?

Across the breadth of this nation I'll bet there are ten, maybe even eleven Democrats with more character than Hillary Clinton.

Sweden Welcomes Muslims

The risk of being raped in Sweden during one’s lifetime is one out of four.

As Muslim men immigrated to Sweden they brought with them an Islamic culture sanctioning rape. It is a culture bad enough inherently in the treatment of its own women. Under sharia, Muslim women serve little more purpose beyond catering to their husbands’ sexual demands. A non-submissive wife runs the risk of being raped by her husband.

But under Sharia this rape culture also impacts upon Swedish women as they are “infidels” and, as such, are — according to Allah’s teachings — sanctioned targets for rape by Muslim men. Such an Islamic belief system has born witness to a drastic increase in rapes in Sweden — more than a thousand fold — since first opening its doors to Muslim immigration.

So Malott's Blog has to ask this:  What is best for the American women and girls that we love?  Does America really need more men from the middle east in its neighborhoods?  What exactly do we get in exchange for that?

Has the Left Wing love for multiculturalism left us bereft of all common sense?

Lay's Corporation Goes Gay... or LGBT

So I went right out and bought some Mikesells Potato Chips for myself.  I may start buying them for friends, family, and maybe people I meet on the street...

Mikesells are better chips than Lay's, and as far as I know Mikesells does not encourage a lifestyle that sends unrepentant participants to an eternal Hell.  (An important point)

In this video Lay's is not flipping off God alone... There is also a dig at political conservatives.  Fine.

So Lay's Corporation is run by the enemies of God... and Conservatism.  Good to know.  I think I can make it through the rest of my life not sending them a penny in support of their evangelistic work.

Quote for the Day

You seem to consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions; a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy. Our judges are as honest as other men, and not more so. They have, with others, the same passions for party, for power, and the privilege of their corps.... Their power the more dangerous as they are in office for life, and not responsible, as the other functionaries are, to the elective control. The Constitution has erected no such single tribunal, knowing that to whatever hands confided, with the corruptions of time and party, its members would become despots. It has more wisely made all the departments co-equal and co-sovereign within themselves.

Rush Limbaugh is Gay for Donald Trump

The universe is making little sense today.  After the first Republican Debates last night I listened to Rush Limbaugh to hear his opinion on who played well and who didn't.

All he talked about was Donald Trump... Seriously, I'm talking 90% of the 3-hour radio show....  And I don't understand the fixation.

I know that Trump is anti-Republican Establishment which is dear to Limbaugh's heart, but Ted Cruz is every bit the anti-establishment Republican, and is also a good man... A good man with a conservative record.

Trump has been all over the map in his politics and loyalties.

Limbaugh is supposedly the Conservative's Conservative.  Why does he insist upon propping up this buffoon?

And thanks the pathetic efforts of the FOX interviewers, (Is there anyone more full of herself than Meghan Kelly?)  we know nothing about what qualities Trump would look for in a  Supreme Court nominee... Who he would hire as advisers... What leaders he would pattern himself after...

What a waste of an opportunity to inform the voters.

And then Limbaugh appears to have gone insane.

It makes my head hurt.

Ross Trump and Donald Perot

When was the last time a bunch of stupid Republicans supported a hateful rich man in a third party candidacy, split the conservative vote, and got a Clinton elected?

Here we go again.

Quote of the Day

"What is an idol?  It is anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, anything you seek to give you what only God can give. A counterfeit god is anything so central and essential to your life that, should you lose it, your life would feel hardly worth living. An idol has such a controlling position in your heart that you can spend most of your passion and energy, your emotional and financial resources, on it without a second thought. It can be family and children, or career and making money, or achievement and critical acclaim, or saving “face” and social standing. It can be a romantic relationship, peer approval, competence and skill, secure and comfortable circumstances, your beauty or your brains, a great political or social cause, your morality and virtue, or even success in the Christian ministry. When your meaning in life is to fix someone else’s life, we may call it “codependency” but it is really idolatry. An idol is whatever you look at and say, in your heart of hearts, “If I have that, then I’ll feel my life has meaning, then I’ll know I have value, then I’ll feel significant and secure.”

Tim Keller

As Ferguson Burns

The African-Americans I know are just like me.  They believe that when thugs of any color steal, assault police officers... And end up dead... That it's a proper outcome.  It's an outcome that makes their children and property safer.  No one wants their kids endangered by such individuals.

And it's an insult to these same African-Americans that a liberal government is treating the blacks presently destroying Ferguson, Missouri as if they were children... As if they simply can't help but riot.

I think it's ironic and instructive that these rioters are imitating the deceased 18-year-old Michael Brown in that they are stealing and assaulting police officers.  They know they will not end up in the city morgue because a liberal government will order the police to show restraint, even if they and firefighters are assaulted and threatened with deadly force.

But the true criminals are the haters, the inciters... the Al Sharptons who provoke violence among the ignorant instead of promoting civil, lawful behavior and a correct understanding of what happened in Ferguson back in August.

But the only time that Al and his ilk will serve, is time before a television camera.

But I guess I'm just a softie... I can't help but feel sorry for the next Michael Brown... The next ignorant punk that is raised with no respect for the rule of law.  But hey!  If he survives, America just might elect him president!

A Man Needs A Shed

Neil Young sang "A Man Needs a Maid," but if rumors are true, he didn't care for maids himself.  But having the y chromosome... albeit a confused y... He certainly would appreciate my new shed.

It is 10 feet by 16 feet, and is made of treated lumber... And, it's the biggest and best shed in the neighborhood.  HA!

I've Dug a Potato or Two

You no doubt ask, "Does it take a man to grow potatoes such as these?"  Oh yes... yes it does.  And he must be a mighty man... Virile, robust... Yet strangely humble.

When digging potatoes, it's best to wear boots like these... Preferably with bibs that are three sizes too big.  Bibs are a garment meant to get lost in.
