Pneumonia is an Old Man's Friend

Pneumonia is called the old man's friend because, left untreated, the sufferer often lapses into a state of reduced consciousness, slipping peacefully away in their sleep, giving a dignified end to a period of often considerable suffering.

My mother was very nauseated a couple days ago and was vomiting.  I went to the nursing home and sat with her, occasionally wiping her chin... Something she couldn't do for herself.  It was very hard to see her suffer as she looked to me for the help I could not give.

I got up early yesterday and went in to check on her.   She was better and I ended up feeding her.  I'm sure she could tell that I was an amateur at this because she gave me a couple bad looks when I didn't do it right.  58 years ago these roles were reversed.

Anyway, an X-ray of here lungs showed a little bit of pneumonia, and I have to wonder if this might be her ticket Home.

Oh,Chris! My heart goes out to you, though I don't really know what you're going through.

What Bekah said, and I'll be keeping you and your family in prayer (for His will, of course).
