Chuck Colson R.I.P.
The Rev. Billy Graham:
"For more than 35 years, Chuck Colson, a former prisoner himself, has had a tremendous ministry reaching into prisons and jails with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I get to Heaven and see Chuck again, I believe I will also see many, many people there whose lives have been transformed because of the message he shared with them."
Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum:
"Chuck was a patriot, who loved his country and loved serving his God, and we are all a little better off for having known him."
U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind.:
"Having been given a second chance, Chuck Colson devoted his life to carrying the Christian message of second chances to those in prison, and he saw countless lives changed by his compassion and example."
New York Times-MSNBC:
Charles W. Colson, who served as a political saboteur for President Richard M. Nixon, masterminded some of the dirty tricks that led to the president’s downfall, then emerged from prison to become an important evangelical leader, saying he had been “born again,” died Saturday. He was 80.
I liked Chuck Colson. I enjoyed his daily "Breakpoint" podcast, and I enjoyed hearing him speak several times on Christian Radio. Billy Graham said it best... There will be many people in Heaven due to the Holy Spirit's work through Chuck Colson. There is no more significant epitaph than that.

I'd been reading on Twitter for several days that he was very sick and was sad to read he'd died. But you're so right...what an incredible legacy and what a life lived to draw others to the Lord!
Off subject...I saw you a few weekends back when I was coming home from Kokomo. You were on your mower and I ALMOST turned around and came back to say hi but I didn't want to interrupt your chores!
Colson had an amazing conversion story... and what followed was even more amazing.
Off subject... I hate to mow. I'm always banging my head on low branches.
How 'bout that Gray Lady and good ole MSNBC?!?!? So arrogantly dismissive of decades of good work. Only the left could think that the latter decades of Chuck Colson's life as an evangelist were just as bad as his pre-conversion life. It really illustrates the bigotry that people can't change and that we should never expect much from them or pressure them to grow out of a bad place.
MSLSD and The Times can't be expected to have anything good to say about a man that trots Jesus outside the Church and into a State or Federal prison. (Separation of church and state prison) They sneer the term "born again" with the same contempt that they hold for the Man who coined it.
