Blogging Up is Hard To Do

A friend of mine recently told me that Facebook has destroyed the blogosphere... That a short paragraph, a picture posted, a little thumb pointed up... It's all that most people feel the need to express, and it satisfies their need to reach beyond their living room.

I hate Facebook.  People want to be my Facebook friend and I don't even know them.  I never turn down "friend" requests - that would be unforgivably rude - but I almost never go to the site.

But I digress.

I have noticed a decrease in general traffic in the blogging world along with a decrease in blogging among my blogger friends.  This change was concurrent with my own loss of interest in Malott's Blog.

I now look upon a body of work that stretches back to 2005, some of which I'm very proud of.  But when I read what I used to post compared to what I write now... I sometimes feel that I shot my wad a long time ago.  And, with a shrinking audience, the desire to express my thoughts has waned.

But for now, I'll keep posting from time to time...

Blogging sometimes provides a relief denied even to prayer.
(Apologies to Mark Twain...)

Are you kidding me!?!? You're breaking up with us!!!

This is the blogging equivalent of saying you just want to be friends!

And don't you say a peep about how often I've been blogging. This isn't about me, it's about you...

(You broke my heart. I'm going to the zoo...)

SP,

I miss the days when Janice, AICS, Christina, Delta, Bekah, and even our gay friend from Australia would kick around the issues of the day... It was fun.

I'm still moved at times to express myself... And I will... And I'll keep checking on you, of course... But some things just can't be warmed over. Sad.

Hope you enjoyed the zoo.

I miss posting too. In fact, Malott, your comment resonated some of my own feelings about Facebook vs blogging. It's almost like writing vs. texting. Sigh.

Life gets busy, and I post as I can. I have another blog which I also post to (link to it on Tsofah blog)because it's different subject but really good (if I do say so myself - smile)

I really do enjoy reading your blog, Malott. Don't go 'way!

It's still an great tool for communicating ideas and sparking conversations. I see no decline in quality. Maybe there's just less to say. I'll still be watching and always look forward to it. And I miss you!
