Quote of the Day

"If a conservative doesn't believe in God, he doesn't go to church. Period. He doesn't tell you that you have to stop believing in God. A Conservative doesn't chide you for going to church. A conservative doesn't call a member of Congress and make church illegal. But a liberal does that. A liberal, in fact, wants any mention of God and religion silenced. If a liberal doesn't believe in God, doesn't believe in religion, then there can't be anything anywhere that reminds that poor sap of religion. They're just that way."

I wonder if all this crazy political correctness is an outgrowth of the movement that started about 20 years ago which emphasized being sensitive to and accommodating children's feelings. No scoring in sports, grading systems that are less comparative, "time-out", blah, blah, blah. It may have had it's flaws, but the age of children being seen and not heard at least taught people not to be so damned sensitive. Feelings may be important to recognize, but they are highly unreliable guides to life. AND encouraging children to be slaves of their feelings does not build self-esteem. I once visited my old best friend from elementary and high school and she made the comment, "I'm inoffendable, so feel free to disregard my suggestions" when we were trying to decide where to go to dinner. It was a small gesture, but it really struck me as a great kindness to extend to others. I've never forgotten it and I use it a lot socially and when I'm at work and want people to feel free to open up and discuss their issues. What a shame that our culture says "I'm very offendible, so you'd better be careful around me."

"I'm Inoffendible"... Love that! Your friend should start a conservative T-shirt line.
