Obama's Union Thugs Attack at a Town Hall Meeting
White House to Democrats: "Punch back twice as hard." Town halls turned violent last night and yesterday afternoon in Tampa; and in St. Louis, where a black conservative was roughed up and had to be sent to the emergency room thanks to union thugs. Six were arrested at the Russ Carnahan town hall after the St. Louis meeting, and this is the one where the union thugs, the SEIU people, beat up a black conservative, 38 years old.

We Now Have A Total Gangster Government
I found this at Chuck's Chants. Thanks Chuck. This is political blackmail... In America!?
From the AARP Site:
Don't Let the Myths About Health Care Reform Scare You.
There are special interest groups trying to block progress on health care reform by using myths and scare tactics. Like the notion that health care reform would ration your care, hurt Medicare or be a government takeover. Actually, these are false statements.
All of the health care reform plans currently being debated in Congress would ensure that you and your doctor are the ones making decisions about your health. The majority of working Americans will continue to receive their health care through their employer. In addition, health care reform will strengthen Medicare by eliminating billions of dollars in waste while lowering prescription drug prices.
Throughout the debate on how to fix what's broken about our health care system, AARP pledges to help you cut through the noise and find the facts about what health care reform means for you and your family. When we see special interests using scare tactics, we'll make sure you're given the facts so you can make informed decisions about health care reform.
Wow. I guess AARP is in the tank for Obama, the Democrats, and Socialism.

This gives me a headache.
Henry Waxman’s bill, HR 2749, would give the U.S. Food and Drug Administration the authority to regulate all of America’s farms and the produce from our farms with a “Rube Goldberg” system of huge buffers, drained wetlands, bulldozed trees (to prevent the possibility of bird droppings) and fields lined with poison-filled tubes to kill rodents.
That’s not all. Children under age five “will be prohibited from setting foot on farmland or tilled soil for fear of leaking diapers,” according to an analysis of the proposed legislation by journalist Paul Williams. And if a crow should be so bold as to land in a cornfield, the whole crop would have to be destroyed, under the radical provisions of Waxman’s bill.
The stated purpose of Waxman’s bill is to rid farms of the food-borne, lethal bacteria, e. Coli.O157:H7, one of many strains of bacterium that cause food-borne illness.
Why all this trouble for legislation that no one – least of all America’s farmers – actually needs? Call it the lure of the organic. The congressional district Waxman represents is populated by affluent and liberal constituents, who may never have seen a farm but who fervently preach the virtues of organic produce. Upscale grocery stores, their shelves loaded with imported delicacies and plenty of organic foods, abound in Waxman-land.
Indeed, the kinds of restrictions that Waxman has in mind for the country’s farmers are already the norm in California. The San Francisco Chronicle article recently reported how crops and ponds are being destroyed in a quest for safety of foods. One Salinas Valley, California, farmer, Dick Peixoto, was quoted as saying: “I was driving by a field where a squirrel fed off the end of the field, and so 30 feet in we had to destroy the crop (and) one field where a deer just walked through, we had to take out 30 feet on each side of his tracks.”
And California is bankrupt? How so?
Brilliant. This is all our faltering economy needs right now. "Cap and Tax Waxman" will not be satisfied until the wiping of our butts is federally regulated.

My cold moved into my chest on Wednesday, and now I sound like a walking tuberculin ward. Kleenex tissues are my constant companion, because when you cough up something chewable, it's best to spit it out.
I am not charming company right now.
I am back at work and have been told that my cold-induced deep voice is very sexy. Just my voice. Evidently the rest of me is still pedestrian and frumpy.
The pitiless women I work with will give me no sympathy. They will just laugh when my voice cracks, and keep their distance. I will suffer alone.

As you know from a previous post, I've been sick all week... And today I was finally able to stay home from work and recuperate a bit. Mostly I've just been sitting, but when I went out to my mailbox I perked up quickly.
There was a box inside that contained chocolate covered fudge, green tea, chicken soup, some sort of sweet bread, and a very nice get well card. Because of privacy concerns, I will not mention the name of the person (It was Bekah) that sent me these thoughtful gifts.

The anonymous nice person (Bekah) and I have a sick-bed pact, which is obviously already working out great for me, in spite of Skyepuppy's meddling. I'm already planning severe headaches for next month, and influenza in the fall.
Kind and thoughtful people are rare... and are good friends to have.

So who will she support?
Washington --Hillary Clinton says running for office isn't on her "radar," but she still has an eight-person political team and sports two overflowing campaign war chests.
Her team transformed the former Democratic White House contender's massive campaign debts into a $3 million mountain of political cash, according to federal fund-raising records through the end of June.
"It raises questions about that nascent presidential campaign for 2016 - and she didn't close the door on that, if you read her remarks carefully," said the University of Virginia's Larry Sabato.
2016?
Hillary's responsibilities as Secretary of State are somewhat abbreviated, given the fact that Obama has appointed:
Dennis Ross - Iran Czar & Mideast Policy Czar
Richard Holbrooke - Afghanistan Czar
J. Scott Gration - Sudan Czar
And the big one: George Mitchell - Middle East Peace Czar
Hillary and Bill have received little respect from Obama. I figure Hillary feels a little bit forgotten after being in the limelight for 16 years. And Bill can't be pleased being moth-balled in Haiti. Obama's patronizing of the Clintons and their many supporters is all well and good... As long as his presidency is going well.
But if Obama's poll numbers continue to head south, and his socialist ways continue to bring bad reviews, the Clintons are politically talented enough to take advantage and position Hillary for a run in 2012.
If in 2010 the country seems rudderless, the economy is no better, the Dems lose seats in Congress, and the Community Organizer-in-Chief continues to appear inept... Mrs. Clinton will excuse herself from the State Department and the primary wars will begin.
The outcome may be different than the last time:

I am so sick. Due to the coldest July of my lifetime, (Bite me, Al) I have a summer cold. My nose is running, and my cough-irritated sore throat feels like it's bleeding. The lab is short of techs, as it often is during the summer, so staying home is not an option.
I could handle all this if it were not for The Brinks Home Security Commercials. You know, where the goon smashes through the door of the home and scares the people, usually women, half to death? Answer this: Why are the goons always white? I am offended! Stereotyping is an ugly thing... And it's hard enough for me to make friends.
How about some truth in advertising? There is a race of people who just might possibly, once in a while, maybe be involved in crime... That's right! I want to see some Oriental guys break down a few doors!
I'd feel better then.

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama said Wednesday that police acted "stupidly" in the arrest of prominent black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. and that despite racial progress blacks and Hispanics are still singled out unfairly for arrest.
Well, looking at the first six months of the Obama Administration you can't argue with the fact that Obama is an expert on "stupid."
I read the arrest report, and it appears that a well-respected white police officer dealt as best he could with a loud-mouthed, angry, black A-hole. There were plenty of witnesses.
Henry Louis Gates is obviously an angry black man, full of hate, who sees racism everywhere he looks... And is the very kind of person President O'Stupid has a history of identifying with.

Dr Howard Hendricks of the Dallas Theological Seminary once told his class to bring a list of people they knew personally, and who they believed were the least likely to accept Christ as their Savior. The class ended up with 69 names. They made a covenant to pray for those people every day for four months. They did nothing else to influence those people.
At the end of those four months, 37 on the list had come to faith... through no other known means but prayer.
Hendricks speaks about prayer between a husband and wife. In the evangelical community, one in two marriages fail. But a study by the Seminary revealed that when the husband and wife got together on a regular basis and shared time in prayer, that percentage went from one in two... To one in 15... Hundred.
We have not, because we ask not.
I don't know how they gathered that data, but I believe it.

From Pat Buchanan's prognosis for Obama's Socialist America:
The deficit for 2009 is $1.8 trillion, 13 percent of the whole economy. Obama is pushing a cap-and-trade bill to cut carbon emissions that will impose huge costs on energy production, spike consumer prices and drive production offshore to China, which is opting out of Kyoto II. The Chinese are not fools.
In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson called George III a tyrant for having "erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."
What did George III do with his Stamp Act, Townshend Acts or tea tax to compare with what is being done to this generation of Americans by their own government?
Coming to America to feast on this cornucopia of freebies is the world. One million to 2 million immigrants, legal and illegal, arrive every year. They come with fewer skills and less education than Americans, and consume more tax dollars than they contribute by three to one.
Wise Latina women have more babies north of the border than they do in Mexico and twice as many here as American women.
As almost all immigrants are now Third World people of color, they qualify for ethnic preferences in hiring and promotions and admissions to college over the children of Americans.
All of this would have astounded and appalled the Founding Fathers, who after all, created America – as they declared loud and clear in the Constitution – "for ourselves and our posterity."
China saves, invests and grows at 8 percent. America, awash in debt, has a shrinking economy, a huge trade deficit, a gutted industrial base, an unemployment rate surging toward 10 percent and a money supply that's swollen to double its size in a year. The 20th century may have been the American Century. The 21st shows another pattern.
We have forgotten who we are. Rome is burning, and the citizens are content, for now, with bread and circuses... As they mindlessly fixate upon the popular culture, and rest in the empty promises of Hope and Change. We have carelessly placed our country into the adulterating hands of socialist tyrants. They are propped up by a propaganda machine that intimidates dissent, and a popular culture that glories in its own ignorance. The United States Federal Government and its left-wing media machine have become our governing aristocrats, the enemy of representative democracy, federalism, and our constitutional promise of self-determination.
Coming elections may slow the momentum, but the insidious infection that plagues Washington is deep-rooted, bi-partisan, and terminal.
Maybe if we sink further into poverty and oppression, the sons and daughters of the Founding Fathers, along with their adopted like-minded heirs, will rise up and reclaim their country from Washington. But the dismantling of a powerful centralized government alway involves resistance, and I suspect this saving coup could be neither lawful nor bloodless.

(This is not to be confused with a mid-wife crisis. I'm cool there.)
I'm getting divorced... Oh... Uh... OK... From my sister! I'm becoming a vegetarian... I'm giving up all meat except beef, chicken, and pork. I'm running off to Rio with an 18-year-old Puerto Rican girl named Loretta. I'm taking an on-line course in Eastern Religions from the American College of Metaphysical Theology. I'm getting an eyelid tuck and butt implants. I'm getting my left ear pierced and the nape of my neck tattooed. I'm finally going to get serious about male-enhancement. I'm buying a convertible, a boat, AND a motorcycle. I'm changing my name to Girth Testicula.
This mid-life malady thing keeps attacking me every few years... Restlessness and the Blues. So I figure I need to do something really pathetic and senseless to get it out of my system... Once and for all!
I'd write more, but I'm late for a meeting with my Self-Esteem and Life Path counsellor.

I wish I had her muscle definition... And possibly her testosterone level. I think this woman could hurt me!
And in the tradition of Amy Carter and Chelsea Clinton... ... ... ... OK... I'm sorry. Besides, I don't think that's really the daughter. I'm positive I saw that girl selling crack at a local Jr High.
I saw the older daughter during the campaign... She was a little lady in a little dress, her hair was much different, and she was only 10 years old. This can't be her.
A little girl's "look" says much more about the parents than the child. I have no children, but I question the wisdom of cultivating an image straight from the pages of Abercrombe & Fitch.

American politics has constructed walls that Jesus never ordained. Conservative white Christians find themselves at odds with Believers of a different color.
While I believe that it's counterproductive to pander to African American victimhood, the white Christian culture of the early 20th century that tolerated "whites only" institutions and traditions, are culpable for the seeming legitimation of the Jeremiah Wright-type teachings. America has reaped what it so sinfully sowed.
Of course, the redemption for Black-America lies in the meekness that Jesus taught... As it is for us all... But the worldly ideal of justice pollutes their political thinking. And sadly, if Dr King's sermons had celebrated meekness, I doubt that we would have ever heard of Dr King.
It is the white American Church that failed... It failed when it accepted slavery... And it failed in its behavior after the Emancipation Proclamation.
The African American Church has aligned itself with a political party that embraces abortion, the radical gay agenda, and the Godless machinations of the ACLU... All of which the Black Church disdains... And I have to wonder where we would be today if historically we had stood together as brothers in Christ.
The Lord will judge and sort it all out. I personally hope to adopt our Savior's meekness, and try to understand the intentions and motivations of those that support the proponents of all that I find despicable. I suspect wisdom lies in a non-judgemental understanding that accepts and understands racial grievances for what they are. And ultimately, the Way, the Truth, and the Life will deal with our hearts, and rule the day.

MOSCOW (AP) - President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a preliminary agreement Monday to reduce the world's two largest nuclear stockpiles by as much as a third, down to the lowest levels of any U.S.-Russia accord, and counter what Obama called "a sense of drift" in the countries' relations.
I feel safer already. I'm confident that President Nitwit has the entire Russian government eating from his hand... Just where he wants them. Maybe the nation's newest Senator, Al Franken, can lend some of his formidable experience and expertise in dealing with this obviously subdued nuclear power.

Dr Mitchell Taylor has been researching the status and management of polar bears in Canada and around the Arctic Circle for 30 years, as both an academic and a government employee. More than once since 2006 he has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. Of the 19 different bear populations, almost all are increasing or at optimum levels, only two have for local reasons modestly declined.
Dr Taylor has been barred from a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group (set up under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission) because his views on global warming and his polar bear data "do not accord with those of the rest of the group."
Dr Taylor was told that his views running "counter to human-induced climate change are extremely unhelpful". His signing of the Manhattan Declaration – a statement by 500 scientists that the causes of climate change are not CO2 but natural, such as changes in the radiation of the sun and ocean currents – was "inconsistent with the position taken by the PBSG".
Ah... The objectivity of true science!

If you have been faithfully reading my blog for some time now, you not only have a strange notion of what constitutes time well spent, but you also have learned that Bachelors Die Young.
Another quality of bachelors that you may not yet have learned, is that we talk to ourselves... Out loud. For me it started when I was in my late thirties, and it has only gotten worse.
Earlier today I had this discussion, out loud... with me, "Well are you going to go to Kokomo or not? You'll have to stop at the bank. You don't really need anything, Chris. I can buy potatoes here in town... but I need some Pepsi and it's so expensive. I could buy those Correlle bowls at Mejher's but I don't really need those either. Well Chris, it's not like you're spending thousands of dollars on exciting vacations... if you want the bowls, buy them. For crying out loud, what did you spill on your pants? When did I do that? Gahhh... I'll have to change... Why can't you make a simple decision? You've always been this way..." And it went on from there.
Last week I was walking into a little meat market in Tipton, and noticed that a bank across the street was remodeling, and I said right out loud, (to no one but myself) "When did they start that? That's gonna look nice..." And immediately I caught myself and looked around to see if anyone had noticed. So it has definitely begun occurring outside the privacy of my home.
When I'm 75 I fully expect to be standing in Krogers talking out loud to the bell peppers, "Well now you're a ripe one, aren't you!"
For the record, I went to Kokomo, bought potatoes and Pespsi... and to the best of my knowledge, I did not have a man to spud conversation prior to purchase.
I didn't buy the bowls. We argued, and are still in negotiations.

John Steele Gordon has a wonderful suggestion concerning the healthcare debate. He writes:
I have an idea. Why not have the federal government demonstrate that it can provide adequate health care to American Indians, a promise it hasn’t kept for 222 years? Then demonstrate it can provide adequate health care to veterans, a promise it hasn’t kept for 79 years. Then demonstrate that it can reform and efficiently run the health insurance system called Medicare, which it has been been making a dog’s breakfast of for the last 44 years. And then, and only then, take over all of American health care.
Or even better, why not have the mainstream media do its job for once and vigorously investigate the federal government’s actual track record in regard to health care? It’s not an impressive résumé for someone applying to run the whole show. Indeed, it’s a more-than-two-hundred-year record of failure, inadequate funding, bureaucratic indifference, and broken promises.
I think the healthcare system in this country started inching its way towards insanity when medical insurance started paying for office visits. In the past, insurance was for surgery and the big things that people needed, but simply couldn't afford.
And when I was a boy, the poor didn't go to the emergency room when they got sick. They went to Dr Denton who knew it was part of his job to help people who coulndn't afford to pay him. It was just part of his job!
And then the government stepped in to help the poor.
And now they want to control my healthcare?

Fraud that Democrats can only dream of...
The White House has remained silent about the highly suspect outcome in the Iranian election. They're probably too busy taking notes. The supposed landslide victory of Ahmadinejad was denounced as treason by his reformist opponent, Mir Hossein Mousavi.
Here's how an Iranian election works... It's like ACORN on steroids. The religious leaders of the country decide who they want, and that guy wins the election. Now Obama said, "...ultimately the election is for the Iranians to decide," but Obama is of course a dumb ass. The religious guys in the turbans decide.
The protests in the streets of Tehran are kind of fun to watch... the Iranian people haven't seen this sort of action since the Iranian Revolution back in the 70's. And it will take another revolution for the elections in Iran to be fair.
Sort of like here.

The Obama administration is committing $50 billion to General Motors -- $30 billion on top of the $20 billion it has already invested. President Obama said Monday the U.S. government, which now owns 60 percent of GM, wants to prop up the company and then "get out" of the auto business.
Critics say this looks like Amtrak all over again.
Analysts said the government's hope of creating an efficient mass transit service through a partial nationalization of the rail system was stymied by its inability to get tough on unions and rein in labor costs. The same could hold true, they say, as the Obama administration deals with the UAW.
Amtrak has fielded criticism over the years for being guided by officials with little or no transit experience. Today, Obama's Auto Task Force has a combined experience of zero years in the auto industry.
With Amtrak, the government got too involved in decision-making, leading to inefficiencies in the system that would never be corrected, say analysts. Since its creation in 1970, Amtrak has sucked up $30 billion in taxpayer money, and the money is still flowing. The original aid package from Congress in 1970 was $340 million with an expectation the railroad would make a profit in five years.
Obama's goal is to provide high wages and benefits for his UAW supporters as they make Little Green Aluminum Foil Cars that nobody wants to buy (Japan makes them better and cheaper), as he continues to pump our tax dollars into the obviously lost cause known as GM.

This is the kind of judicial nominee you get when you elect a president who has no respect for the constitution. (I know... Obama taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago, but that's like the gay, atheist, Episcopalian professor teaching theology)
When Sotomayor's rulings have been challenged and brought before the Supreme Court, she has been overturned 60% of the time. Judge Jose Cabranes, a Clinton nominee for crying out loud, has scolded her in writing for her decision in the infamous Ricci v. DeStefano.
But let's let the Judge speak for herself: "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." --Sonia Sotomayor in a speech at Berkeley
This is not a racist statement. This is the philosophy of a judicial activist. The founding fathers created a government in which judges were to rule based upon the Constitution and the laws written by legislators elected by The People... Judges were not intended to rule based upon their personal experience. This is the statement of a Supreme Court Justice who will overrule the will of the people... Because she can... Because she thinks it's her job to be fair... Even if it means she has to overrule the Constitution.
The nomination of Sonia Sotomayor is how Obama will further take the governing of America out of the hands of the people, and make it the province of the elite.
Update: I'd like to thank PAW and Skyepuppy for correcting the first sentence in my post's second paragraph. I wouldn't want to dupe anyone, and I know those who support the Left wouldn't want to dupe anyone or involve themselves in character assassination.

Washington AP-- In a bold move on Thursday, President Barack Obama cancelled the congressional elections of 2010, citing economic reasons. Speaking from the Rose Garden, Obama stated, "The nation's economic woes are much too grave for us to risk an irrational and emotional move by voters to change the makeup of Congress at this critical juncture. Therefore, the elections of 2010 will be placed on hold."
Asked if he felt that the country would be stable enough for the presidential election of 2012, Obama responded by saying, "I think it's much too early to make that decision, but my administration will, when the time comes and with the support of Congress, choose the path that will best serve to move us towards our goal of peace, security, and prosperity."
When asked about the critics of this decision, Obama replied, "Yes, there are those reactionaries that place tradition above the good of the people, but I do not stand with them. And to right-wing terrorists who would move to disrupt and threaten our peace and progress I'll say this: My administration will not hesitate to bring the full weight of the federal government to bear on those who preach hate and sedition."
At this point the press conference was interrupted by a five minute standing ovation from the White House Press Corps.
Acknowledging the support of the press, Obama continued, "You, the members of the Fourth Estate will play an important part in our efforts, and I am depending on you to get the good word out to the people. But again, there are those in your profession who do not share your scruples, your ethics, those who would use their voice to stir unrest and dampen hope. Let me state unequivocally, this subversive interference for political gain will not be tolerated. It is a privilege, not a right, to report the news and comment on the public airwaves, and the irresponsible misuse of those airwaves shall not continue."
Obama then stressed that free and fair elections would return to the United States as soon as the present crisis has past.
You can't make this stuff up.

"What better tribute could there be to the greatest Senator we've had in decades?"
--Andy Stern, Union Leader
Obama's intent is to transform the world's Cadillac of health care into the Yugo of health care. He will accomplish this by naming it after the dying Senator, Ted Kennedy... Who like Barack Obama, will never have to wait in line for hernia surgery or a cardiac bypass operation.
I see it this way: Ted is dying... I'm dying... You're dying... And I resent this maudlin device, this sentimental gimmick that will be used to facilitate the wrecking of our health care system.
Dr Clarence Cobb, the guy who hired me to work in his lab 30 years ago, once talked to me about the practice of medicine prior to medicare and medicaid. Back then the caring for people who could not afford to pay was simply part of the practice of medicine, and the doctors accepted that fact. Then the government came along and said they were going to give the poor health care, and would pay the doctors for treating them... And the doctors said, "OK!"
Many entitlements and accompanying regulations later, doctors' offices and hospitals have more employees pushing paper than treating patients... And band-aids cost $100.00
Nothing good can some from Washington's enhanced control of the health care system.
Maybe we could just give Ted a plaque.

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration is weighing plans to detain some terror suspects on U.S. soil -- indefinitely and without trial -- as part of a plan to retool military commission trials that were conducted for prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
On Wednesday, the president reversed a recent administration decision to release photos showing purported abuse of prisoners at U.S. military facilities in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Obama cited concern that releasing the pictures could endanger U.S. troops.
Obviously, Obama is currently studying the disparity in the degree of difficulty between campaigning and leading... Between criticising policies and putting forth sound policies of his own.
Obama is staunchly couched among the lunatic Left in his hatred for America and all she stands for... But he is quite willing to jettison George Soros, the ACLU, the lawyers lobby, and the rest of the moon bats in order to secure his success (and re-election)... Because Obama loves Obama even more than he despises our country.
I believe that George Bush, for all his faults, never stuck his finger in the wind to determine his policies. He did what he honestly thought was best for the country.
Obama will serve Obama... How fortuitous that what serves Obama and what serves America occasionally run along parallel lines.

From Chuck Colson and his Breakpoint Broadcast:
Two women decided to hold their civil union ceremony at a New Jersey pavilion owned by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. This Methodist group told the women they could not “marry” in any building used for religious purposes. The Rev. Scott Hoffman said a theological principle—that marriage can only exist between one man and one woman—was at stake.
The women filed a discrimination complaint with the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights. The Methodists said the First Amendment protected their right to practice their faith without being punished by the government. But punish the Methodists is exactly what New Jersey did. It revoked their tax exemption—a move that cost them $20,000.
Then there’s the case of the Christian physicians who refused to provide in vitro fertilization treatment to a woman in a lesbian relationship. The doctors referred her to their partners, who were willing to provide the treatment. But that wasn’t good enough. The woman sued. The California Supreme Court agreed with the woman, saying that the doctors’ religious beliefs didn’t give them the right to refuse the controversial treatment.
In Massachusetts, Catholic Charities was told they had to accept homosexual couples in their adoption service, or get out of the adoption business. They chose correctly—they got out of the business.
In Mississippi, a mental health counselor was sued for refusing to provide therapy to a woman looking to improve her lesbian relationship. The counselor’s employers fired her—a move that was backed up by the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
In New York, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University refused to allow same-sex couples to live in married student housing, in keeping with the school’s orthodox Jewish teachings. But in 2001, the New York State Supreme Court forced them to do so anyway—even though New York has no same-sex “marriage” law.
In Albuquerque, a same-sex couple asked a Christian wedding photographer to film their commitment ceremony—and sued the photographer when she declined. An online adoption service was forced to stop doing business in California when a same-sex couple sued the service for refusing, on religious grounds, to assist them.
Not a single one of these judicial decisions would stand if they were put on a ballot and the people were allowed to decide. But - We The People - no longer run this country.
This will not change any time soon because the Democrats accept tyranny as a means to an end... The mainstream media covers them... And the lazy, ignorant sheep that line up to vote for them care nothing about liberty as long as they get their bread and circuses.

ND Response - Official Video
Because of the appearance of Obama - and his radical pro-abortion stance - many Notre Dame students are skipping their own graduation and will instead be involved in a prayer vigil.

The story of innocence, sin, and gene mutation.
OK... I heard this theory over the weekend... Probably on a podcast, but I'm not sure. So I can't give credit.
It goes like this: When God created Adam and Eve, the human gene pool was perfect. No illnesses, no hereditary diseases, no mutations. That is why all mankind could come from the same set of parents. Adam's son having a child with his sister was no more sinful than it was for Abraham and his sister, Sarah... Nor was it dangerous for the offspring.
But when sin entered the world, it gradually took its toll on the human gene pool, and by the time Moses set down The Law, it was no longer wise for families to procreate within themselves. There were too many mutated genes concentrated in immediate and extended families, and the health of progeny dictated a change.
I like this theory not only because it explains a few things, but also because it says something about God's economy when it comes to placing limits on our freedom. As James McDonald often says, "When God says 'don't', He means don't hurt yourself."

It's been almost eight years since Dr Siebe carved up my chest, and my brain, liver, and lungs are still cancer free... So I figure I'm a cancer survivor.
But once you've had a melanoma tumor removed, you have to return to the doctor once per year so he can check for suspicious spots. Dr S says I'm easy because I have very few moles and nothing suspicious for him to keep track of. Anyway, that's how I spent last Wednesday morning.
Actually, I just strip down to my underwear. Dr Siebe checks me over including my tushee, but then always asks, "You regularly self-examine your genital area don't you?" To which I always answer "Yes", though that used to be lying.
But then I bought one of those cosmetic mirrors with magnification, and now I do it all the time.
So thanks for saving my life, Dr Siebe! See you next year!

When Harry Reid negotiated with Arlen Specter about switching to the Democrat Party, part of the deal was that Specter would keep his senate seniority.
Guess not. But that's what Arlen gets for choosing to associate with trash. I could have told him that Reid is without honor. Arlen could have gotten it in writing, but I doubt that the Dems would honor a contract any more than they honor the Constitution... Or truth... Or life... Or marriage... Or character... Or the law... Or God...
I like to remember Arlen Specter when he defended Clarence Thomas to the Senate Judiciary Committee. (That was when Anita Hill perjured herself in order to destroy Thomas, garner fame and money for herself, and become the darling of the Left.) But those are the only "highlights" that I recall from Specter's career.

It's true. I'm getting nowhere near enough attention.
I was thinking maybe I could get some attention by being louder and more obnoxious at work, but I've pretty much already peaked in that area. I could fake an epileptic fit, but I'd end up in ER and goodness knows what they'd do to me.
I could get attention by soiling myself... Filling my pants and walking around like that... But I figure that will be my primary mode of social interaction in a few short years, so why rush it. My family will all move to Florida and I'll never see them again. I'll die alone... Probably do a header down the stairs and they'll find me when I've missed a few mortgage payments... They'll never get the stink out of the house.
I guess I'm a little depressed. My spring garden is crap because of cold temperatures and flooding from the incessant rain... The city is going to dig up my yard to put in a new sewer line... I'm 55 years old but I'm aging so rapidly that I calculate I'll be 60 by next Thursday... My libido has deteriorated to the point that I think about something sensual about every six to eight days... (That's working days.)
And I think I'm getting a cold sore.
Other than that, everything is just freaking delightful.

Watching my parents age has been an interesting and sometimes painful experience. My dad told me last week that he doesn't intend to drive anymore because his macular degeneration has done sufficient damage that he questions his driving abilities. My once hard-working mother sometimes spends her entire day in bed, and sometimes shies away and hides from people and situations that are just too hard... Suggesting that her old confidences are no more.
I have a theory about this. You see, my parents have always been faithful to God with their time and their giving. But like most of us - the rich of the world - they are also very proud and independent. But in old age my parents' pride and independence... Their basic confidences are quickly eroding.
The Lord started a good work in them many years ago... And I believe I can see His mercy as my parents' steps become more unsure day by day... I think He is being faithful, completing the work He started... As their eyes turn from a now painful, difficult pilgrimage to a new home that is becoming more real and desirable every day.
My sister and I have new responsibilities, so we are being worked on, too. We have a new appreciation of how our mother cared for her mother when she was old and failing.
Maybe our nursing homes are places of intense pruning and perfecting as God polishes up his servants... Gently, and sometimes not-so-gently, prying their hands away from a world they loved perhaps a little too much... As He faithfully completes His work... Getting them ready for their trip home.

Janeane Garofalo - Countdown - Keith Olbermann - April 16 2009
This would be upsetting if Olbermann had an audience.
You watch this sort of thing and your mouth just drops open... And then you have to smile.
These are angry people. Their Obamessiah and his Cabinet crew of misfits are totally unimpressive... And they're very upset that people have the nerve to point it out.
MUST BE RACISM!!!!!!
Actually, the only thing I like about Barack Obama is his race. I hoped Codoleeza would throw her hat in the ring... Mostly because she is capable... And Black. That would have been cool.
So maybe it is about the spending and the taxing...

Barack Obama is building a new economy on a foundation of so much debt that he has reached into our children's and grandchildren's pockets... They will be born broke... It's called generational theft... He calls it his new foundation... The foundation is debt... Printed money... We know that, but we don't hear that... And that's because Obama can't get what he wants by telling the truth... No liberal can.

Pastor Rick Warren: "I Am Not Anti-Gay Marriage"
Please see the video below.
This guy is a fraud.
I don't believe in persecuting anyone trapped in sin, but this guy seems more concerned with his image than with the truth.
How sad.
Rick Warren Endorses Prop 8
Thats very nice, but recently on Larry King Live he said he was not Anti-Gay Marriage.
Then Joel Osteen appears with King and seems confused about the whole thing.
Who are these guys? Are they the new face of Christianity in this country?
Neither bothered to mention that homosexuality is sin. I shudder to think that these two don't know that it would be better that they have a millstone tied about their neck and be tossed in the sea - than that they mislead anyone.
What are they thinking? Do they have no appreciation for Biblical authority?

That's about right. Iran is developing nuclear weapons, our borders are porous, and Obama's Homeland Security is worried about people who have read the 10th Amendment.
But there are dangerous Conservatives out there. The staff at Malott's blog has studied their general characteristics and come up with the following composite:
Friday, April 10, 2009
I learned very early in life that lying and boastful exaggerating was an embarrassing and costly enterprise. I learned that if you stuck to the truth, you didn't have to remember who you told what to.
Vice President Joe Biden is evidently a slow learner.
"I remember President Bush saying to me one time in the Oval Office, Well, Joe,' he said, 'I'm a leader.' And I said: 'Mr. President, turn and around look behind you. No one is following.'"
--Biden
"It didn't happen," Rove, a FOX News contributor and former Bush adviser, told Megyn Kelly in an interview taped for "On The Record."
Rove's skepticism was echoed by a variety of other Bush aides, including former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, chief of staff Andy Card and legislative liaison Candida Wolff.
Rove continued, "If you notice, all of these incidents have the same structure: Joe Biden courageously raises the impudent question; the president befuddles the answer; and Joe Biden drives home the dramatic response."
The article lists other examples of our Vice President's veracity-challenged history.

California mega-church pastor and author of The Purpose Driven Life Rick Warren says he apologized to his homosexual friends for making comments in support of California's Proposition 8, and now claims he "never once even gave an endorsement" of the marriage amendment.
Maybe Rick's book sales are sagging and he figures this will help. Maybe Rick wants to be popular with his liberal friends in the mainstream media. Maybe Rick is afraid someone will compare him to the late Jerry Falwell. Maybe Rick is more interested in Rick than the truth.
Actually, Id like to cut my Christian brother some slack... Maybe he thought this new stance would help his ministry with gays. I didn't hear this interview with Larry King, but I haven't read that he even acknowledged homosexuality as sin... And that is an important point.
I have much more respect for Peter Heck, who wrote in OneNewsNow, the American Family Association's News Network: "Urging another human being to engage in a risky behavior that will leave them dead at nearly half the age of the general population is an odd definition of love in my book."
Odd indeed. We have to consider the possibility that Rick loves Rick a whole lot more than he loves gays.

We have all heard of CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations... We've all heard their suggestions and pronouncements about how America can be better Americans by doing things that please Muslim-Americans.
Well, the entire staff at Malott's Bog plans to charter an organization named The Council of Real-American Christian Relations... or CRACR... pronounced Cracker. CRACR will venture to educate CAIR, and other Muslims in ways in which they might be better Americans and please their Christian friends.
In keeping with this theme, CRACR feels strongly that American Muslims should make an effort to appear more patriotic. Maybe Muslims could attach an American flag decal to their prayer rugs. On their web site, perhaps CAIR could place an image of Mohamed dressed as Uncle Sam. CRACR would like that!
CRACR feels that Muslims could honor the Judeo portion of America's Judeo-Christian Tradition by inaugurating Take a Jew to Lunch Day. Or, perhaps Muslims could pronounce their mosques to be honorary synagogues during Passover. CRACR would like that!
CRACR believes American Muslims might demonstrate their desire to assimilate into the American Culture by inaugurating a yearly event in which Muslims abandon habits of dress which might make their Christian friends uncomfortable... And call it Tender the Towel Day.
Muslims will be able to visit the CRACR web site where they will regularly find suggestions on how they can please their Christian friends!

The Obama Administration believes it should never allow a crisis to go to waste, and proved it by passing a stimulus package that will further stimulate the crisis in the economy.
The recent shootings in Oakland, Binghampton, and Pittsburgh offer the Obama Regime another opportunity... Another crisis to further liberalism... Another opportunity to stimulate a crisis.
The crime rate will naturally rise as Obama, Pelosi, and Reid combine their axis powers to destroy businesses, increase unemployment, create inflation, and generally trash the economy. Their solution to the increasing crime will be to disarm the law-abiding public.
This policy will produce more chaos, more vulnerability, more unrest, and more events like the one in Pittsburgh where the shooter feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns.
But it is written... Sometimes a socialist savior has to cripple a nation before that nation will be receptive to an authoritarian state and collectivism.
It's all very troubling, but remember that Fidel Castro had to break a few eggs to produce his socialist paradise.

Are there Christians that own and run bordellos? Are there Christians who financially back the production of pornographic movies? Are there Christians who make their living selling illegal drugs?
I don't think so.
Are there Christians who support atheistic organizations bent on the silencing of Biblical truth and principles? Are there Christians who facilitate the legalization of partial birth abortion and the abortion industry in general? Are there Christians who would expedite cultural changes such as gay marriage and the acceptance of cross-dressing or transsexual teachers in public schools?
Yes. These are Christians who vote for Democrats.
When I was in high school there were men in my church who supported the Democrat Party. I thought they were wrong to do so because of economic and defense issues. It was a friendly, sort of blurry difference of opinion.
But since then, Roe vs. Wade, the ACLU, and the Gay Lobby have sharpened the picture and delineated the political map.
In every contentious, moral issue facing this country that challenges Biblical teaching or seeks to undermine the church and the gospel, there is one political party that consistently sides against the Church. Does anyone not find amazing the consistency and faithfulness to all things spiritually subversive that distinguishes these Democrats?
So don't tell me that candidate so-and-so is a Democrat, but an elder in his church. Don't attempt to persuade me by saying that it's only local politics. Christians don't join organizations that prop up sin. People who seek the Kingdom don't facilitate evil with their vote. Men of God no longer choose the Democrat Party.
The principalities, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and the spiritually wicked in high places are at work on this planet, and it should surprise no one that politics too, reduces to good vs. evil.
For now, there is still a party that offers a few Godly candidates. For now.
