Indiana senior tight end Blake Powers was arrested after he threw a water balloon from one car into another, hitting an off-duty police officer, authorities said.
Powers, 22, was released from the Monroe County Jail after he was booked Monday night on a preliminary misdemeanor charge of battery.
According to a police report, Powers tossed a water balloon through the open window of another car, striking Paul Wampler in the head.
Wampler followed the other vehicle, which had four occupants, to a residence where Powers admitted throwing the water balloon, the report said. All four car occupants tested negative for alcohol use, said IU police Capt. Jerry Minger.
What an idiot.

The Democrats were successful in the 2006 elections, and may be successful again in 2008. Their success in large part was due to their negativity towards the war in Iraq and the demonizing of the President in charge.
Democrats say the war on terror is a "bumper sticker." They tell us that we must set a date for withdrawing troops from Iraq.
They tell us the war is lost.
It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, because it influences both the attitudes of our enemies and the attitudes of the Iraqi Government - it encourages the former - and discourages the latter from making the reforms necessary for the fledgling government to move forward.
In the words of John Burns: "...the more that the Democrats in the Congress lead the push for an early withdrawal, the more Iraqi political leaders, particularly the Shiite political leaders, but the Sunnis as well, and the Kurds, are inclined to think that this is going to be settled, eventually, in an outright civil war, in consequence of which they are very, very unlikely or reluctant, at present, to make major concessions. They’re much more inclined to kind of hunker down. So in effect, the threats from Washington about a withdrawal, which we might have hoped would have brought about greater political cooperation in face of the threat that would ensue from that to the entire political establishment here, has had, as best we can gauge it, much more the opposite effect, of an effect that persuading people well, if the Americans are going, there’s absolutely no…and we’re going to have to settle this by a civil war, why should we make concessions on that matter right now?"
Where are our statesmen? Where are the Washingtons, Jeffersons, Adams and other principled leaders who think beyond the next election? Somewhere winning elections became more important than winning the war.
But at what cost?

MICHAEL E. O’HANLON and KENNETH M. POLLACK write in The New York Times:
Here is the most important thing Americans need to understand: We are finally getting somewhere in Iraq, at least in military terms. As two analysts who have harshly criticized the Bush administration’s miserable handling of Iraq, we were surprised by the gains we saw and the potential to produce not necessarily “victory” but a sustainable stability that both we and the Iraqis could live with.
After the furnace-like heat, the first thing you notice when you land in Baghdad is the morale of our troops. In previous trips to Iraq we often found American troops angry and frustrated — many sensed they had the wrong strategy, were using the wrong tactics and were risking their lives in pursuit of an approach that could not work.
Today, morale is high. The soldiers and marines told us they feel that they now have a superb commander in Gen. David Petraeus; they are confident in his strategy, they see real results, and they feel now they have the numbers needed to make a real difference.
American advisers told us that many of the corrupt and sectarian Iraqi commanders who once infested the force have been removed. The American high command assesses that more than three-quarters of the Iraqi Army battalion commanders in Baghdad are now reliable partners (at least for as long as American forces remain in Iraq).
In addition, far more Iraqi units are well integrated in terms of ethnicity and religion. The Iraqi Army’s highly effective Third Infantry Division started out as overwhelmingly Kurdish in 2005. Today, it is 45 percent Shiite, 28 percent Kurdish, and 27 percent Sunni Arab.
In spite of these developments, Democrats seem determined to surrender - and ensure defeat for America on the Iraqi Front in the war against radical Islamic fundamentalism.

A man was asked if he thought a drunk staggering down the street was a funny sight.
He answered, "Not if it's my son."
You can't turn on the TV or read the news without hearing about Lindsay Lohan. I watched Rob Schneider, dressed as Lindsay, make fun of the girl's troubles as the Tonight Show audience laughed uncontrollably. Then I heard a clip of Barbara Walters chastising the Tonight Show for Schneider's performance. And I heard Katie Couric talk compassion - calling Lohan's problem an illness.
Liberal morality... Morality that is based upon nothing but preferences and perhaps a few deeply ingrained Sunday School experiences from childhood... is the lone voice of compassion we hear in reference to this situation.
Ironically, it is Liberal Morality that created the situation in which Miss Lohan finds herself.
Once upon a time it was only the tabloids that used people's afflictions to make money. Evidently the mainstream media has learned to give the public what it wants.
But sometimes it is a kindness to give a tragedy its privacy.

After the second devastating attack on American soil by Islamic radicals, President Rutledge addressed the nation with words of encouragement and resolve. He was as positive as he could be under the circumstances.
But he ended the televised address with this:
"And to the terrorists responsible for this revolting act of cowardice, I say this. America will never stop until we have hunted every last one of you down. We will go to the far corners of the earth draining every swamp and turning over every rock along the way. And when we find you -and we will find you - we shall use every means at our disposal to visit upon you a death one thousand times more hideous than that which you have delivered to our doorstep today.
America has defeated the greatest evils of the modern world, and it will defeat the scourge of radical Islamic fanaticism as well.
Thank you, and God bless America."
The light atop the main camera switched off, but no one spoke... Not even the floor director whose job it was to inform the president that they were safely off the air.
"Am I clear?" asked the president.
The irony was not lost upon the director who said, "I'd say you were crystal clear, sir."
"We're not going to hide behind politically correct labels anymore."
The press secretary cleared his throat and said, "I think you made that abundantly clear. Along with the fact that the Christian West is now officially at war with Islam."
"I said radical Islamic fundamentalism," replied the president. "I said what every single American and every single Western world leader wanted to say and needed to say - radical Islam must be stamped out. Everyone tiptoes around the elephant in the middle of the room while the elephant continues to eat and grow bigger and bigger right before our eyes."
"What about regular Muslims who might see this as a slight against them and their religion?' asked the chief of staff.
The president scoffed, "To hell with them. Mainstream Islam has done nothing to stop this cancer from metastasizing within our midst. They haven't even wholeheartedly condemned it. As far as I'm concerned, they don't get a pass anymore. No more sitting on the fence waiting to see which way this all goes. Either they're part of the solution or they're part of the problem. Period."
That's the condensed version of a scene from Brad Thor's Takedown.
I'm reminded of the movie Three Days of the Condor in which the CIA director (John Housman) talks about how he has been around since WWI.
Higgins asks, "Do you miss that kind of action?"
The CIA Director responds, "I miss that kind of clarity."

We are the first above-ground organization in history openly dedicated to the acceptance of Man’s true nature—that of a carnal beast, living in a cosmos which is permeated and motivated by the Dark Force which we call Satan.
Ordinarily I have a great appreciation for truth, transparency, and honesty, but this mission statement of sorts is just a bit too spot-on for my comfort. The open rejection of God is somehow more shocking than the passive forgetting of God... Or ignoring of God... When you go so far as to openly identify with and embrace the other side... The enemy.
Still, in a way it is refreshing to encounter true believers in all their forms. It cuts through the crap that regularly distracts us...
1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!
2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!
3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!
4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!
5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!
6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!
7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!
8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!
9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years!
Isn't this part of the Democrat Platform?
Oddly enough, if true evil can be measured... And is directly proportional to its ability to mislead and deceive - then these people are much less evil than many Protestant Churches in America.
At least they appear to possess some of the basic concepts... Even if they have chosen the wrong side.
Next week... Rosicrucianism. Send your religion FTD!

Today a friend related a story about an elderly woman who gave her children their teddy bears - which she had saved from their childhood - as Christmas presents. Just last week my mother showed me the three sets of "booties" that my brother, sister, and I had worn. She was thinking about giving them as gifts.
It got me to thinking about my favorite childhood toys...
1. My Dopey Doll. Six inches tall, looked just like the Snow White character, had a soft body, and a painted rubber head.
2. My Tonka Trucks. These trucks were made of steel and even a little boy couldn't destroy them.
3. My guns. I had a civil war musket, pirate pistol, snub-nose 38 with shoulder holster, M16, monkey-gun, hand-held machine gun, a gun that shot rubber bands, and various cowboy six-shooters with holsters... And I didn't end up on a roof somewhere picking off pedestrians.
4. My outfits. My grandmother was a seamstress and I had outfits that made me... Prince Phillip, a pirate, Zorro, Roy Rogers, a doctor, a big game hunter, Broderick Crawford from Highway Patrol, Sgt Saunders from Combat, both a union and rebel soldier, [I'm not kidding] Lloyd Bridges from Seahunt, a football player, and I'm sure I'm forgetting others. Luckily, I didn't have a schizophrenic personality for each outfit. Yes you did! No I didn't!
5. My first bike. It was my older brother's hand-me-down 24 inch bike... Spruced up with a banana seat and ape-hangers. I loved it... And I was cool.

Lands' End no longer can fit me... Even the "Big and Tall Store" won't return my calls. However I am in negotiations with the Salem Tent and Awning Company and I am filled with hope. The worst part of my weight gain has been my inability to make it through my bathroom door, necessitating that I squat in the yard, and then run through the sprinklers to insure proper cleansing.
But the last straw was when a friend asked me if I was circumcised and I simply could not recall. So I had to send him looking for evidence of the procedure. In fact, he's been gone for two days now and I hope he's OK.
My sister (shown below) also struggles with her weight.

As for me... How will I address my problem, you ask? I will no longer frolic with pancakes after midnight. Other restrictions will follow if deemed necessary.

"My Friend Johnny Sutton"
So there you go.
This afternoon I was reading Skyepuppy's post about the two Border Patrol Agents who shot the drug runner in the butt... The one who pointed a gun at them... And how these agents were convicted to 11 and twelve years while the drug runner received immunity... And how the jury was not allowed to hear that the drug runner had broken his deal with the government by running more drugs, or that his mother said he always carried a gun... Facts that were made "classified" by Homeland Security.
Then on the way home I heard an audio clip on the radio of Bush addressing the situation by saying that the "prosecutor Johnny Sutton was from Texas and a good friend..." Appointed by Bush.
The judge was appointed to the bench by Bush, by the way.
So, we have Bush kissing Mexican gluteos... beso butt... George once again showing he cares more about what the Mexican Government thinks than the American people.
Thanks George.
We can only hope that when someone in the crowd points a gun at President Bush... The Secret Service will show more restraint than did the Border Patrol Agents.

Lesson 1: Religions that Condone the Murdering and Raping of Children.
I listened to author Brad Thor on the Glen Beck show today. Thor, who has served as a member of Homeland Security's Analytic Red Cell Program and has appeared on many network and cable news shows as a national security expert, suggested that the next big attack on the U.S. by radical Islam may be against our children... Probably schools... Probably a lot like what took place in the Russian town of Beslan in September of 2004.
Something we didn't hear about Beslan... According to Thor... Evidently many children were raped, murdered, and tossed out of windows.
The media in the United States have been oddly fastidious in failing to report one aspect of last week’s horror in Beslan: that several Russian girls were raped by Muslim terrorists in front of their parents and classmates.
...Free Republic
Now you see, no one has to explain to me why this is a terribly evil thing... But if your hero is Mohammed and you've been studying the Quran all your life:
In dealing with one Jewish clan in Medina, Mohammed -
... offered the men conversion as an alternative to death. Upon their unsurprising refusal, some 900—exact numbers are unknown—were decapitated, one by one, in a ditch surrounding their encampment, in front of their women and children. The women, thus widowed or orphaned, were raped that same night.
Contrary to his own regulations he had at least 15 wives (some sources claim up to 25). The youngest was Aisha, who was seven years old when Muhammad—44 years her senior—"married" her. Two years later, 53-year-old Muhammad consummated this liaison and raped the girl of nine left under his control.
Thor suggested that American school children old enough to be raped - obviously nine and up - would be targeted. ...Girls old enough to rape, and boys too young to fight back.
With Middle Eastern men paying Mexican smugglers to sneak them across porous borders into the United States... And the "cells" already here heartened by our defeat (see Harry Reid) in Iraq...
In Beslan 334 civilians were killed, including 186 children, with hundreds more were wounded.
And how do you prepare for such a thing?
Lesson 2: Religions that Store Lots of Guns
CBS) DALLAS Federal sources told Dallas CBS affiliate KTVT that law enforcement officers have confiscated a large cache of weapons found in an apartment near the federal building in downtown Dallas.
According to sources, among the weapons discovered were two AK-47 rifles, an Uzi 9 millimeter submachine gun, a TEC-9 submachine gun, a 40 millimeter ordnance launcher, a handheld ordnance launcher, and about 500 rounds of ammunition.
Authorities have not yet arrested anyone, but were searching for the tenant of the apartment. Authorities told the television station that the tenant travels to the Middle East frequently and just returned from there this morning.

Thomas Patterson, a professor of government and the press at Harvard who conducted the survey, said that young people today do not make an appointment with news every day the way older adults do.
“We found that most young adults don’t have an ingrained news habit,” he said. “Most children today, when watching television, are not watching the same TV set that their parents are watching. So even if their parents are watching the news every day, the children are likely to be in another room watching something else and aren’t acquiring the news habit.”
“What we found is that what people mean when they say they are engaged in the news has much more of a glancing, superficial basis than anything we would have hoped,” he said. “Young people seemed to think that just listening to the radio in the background was listening to the news.”
I don't believe this surprises anyone in the liberal media. This "glancing, superficial" attention to the news is why the liberal bias of negative headlines, and liberal-leaning sound bites are so effective and necessary if the mainstream media is to control the national mood.
This is how the media can pick out the "one" negative aspect of this roaring economy with its record Dow and low unemployment... Stick the negative story in the headlines... Bury the good news in paragraph 10... And make everyone think we're living in "hard times" - until a Democrat president is elected.

(Shown above: An artist's conception of my history with women.)
People used to try to "fix me up" - but they don't anymore. I take that as a very bad sign.
I'm still drawn to the fairer sex... but I'm no longer "needy." When I was in my teens and twenties... I was needy. And I had dating skills back then, too. Today my pick-up line would be, "You don't want to go out with me, do ya?"
I had dates in my twenties.
Now I have quiet evenings. One after the other.
But my life has its own charm. In fact - it's like I'm married - and my wife is away, caring for her sick mother... Perpetually. There is peace. There is freedom... There is no tension. There is no guilt... I disappoint no one.
But I know how these things work. And they are cyclical.
And I am due.
It will begin as it always does... An abiding distraction with every flirtatious glance, every touch, every wafting feminine scent or fragrance... A restlessness that troubles my sleep... A primitive fire that smolders - effecting my body temperature, my posture, and the tone of my voice. As the yearning intensifies, my very pores will dump sexual pheromones into the atmosphere... Attracting trouble... Fomenting an edgy need to draw near and touch... Quickening both the heart and the essence of desire... As I become the undaunted pursuer... The animal on the prowl... The loaded gun...
Then again, maybe I'll just take a nap.

Even as our troops make serious progress against al-Qaeda-in-Iraq and other extremists, Congress - including Republican members - is sending the terrorists a message: "Don't lose heart, we'll save you!"
Al-Qaeda-in-Iraq is suffering a humiliating defeat, as fellow Sunni Muslims turn against the fanatics and help them find the martyrdom they advertise.
Yet for purely political reasons - next year's elections - cowards on Capitol Hill are spurning the courage of our troops on the ground.
But if Republicans are rushing to desert our troops and spit on the graves of heroes, the Democratic Party at least has been consistent - they've supported our enemies from the start, undercutting our troops and refusing to explain in detail what happens if we flee Iraq.
So I'll tell you what happens: massacres. And while I have nothing against Shia militiamen and Sunni insurgents killing each other 24/7, the overwhelming number of victims will be innocent women, children and the elderly.
* After suffering a strategic defeat, al-Qaeda-in-Iraq comes back from the dead and gets to declare a strategic victory over the Great Satan.
* Iran establishes hegemony over Iraq's southern oil fields and menaces the other Persian Gulf producers.
* Our troops will have died in vain. Of course, that doesn't really matter to much of anyone in Washington, Democrat or Republican. So we'll just write off those young Americans stupid enough to join the military when they could've ducked out the way most members of Congress did.
* A slaughter of the innocents - so many dead, the bodies will never be counted.
I hate the long-mismanaged mess in Iraq. I wish there were a sensible, decent way to get out that wouldn't undercut our security and produce massive innocent casualties. But there isn't. Not now. And, like it or not, we have a moral responsibility as well as practical interests in refusing to surrender to the butchers in Iraq.
This has been the Bush-Cheney War. But it will only be fair to call the carnage after we run away the "Reid-Pelosi Massacres."
Our leaders in Washington are full of noble words and we elect them to keep us safe and govern in a way that preserves our freedoms. But is there a leader in Washington whose first consideration isn't politics? Or are they so jaded... So insulated... So safe... So protected by the propaganda machine that they can play us - and our men in uniform - in any way that furthers their power and careers?
And to the Republic for which it stands? When our leaders speak treason and undercut our troops - they've lost my allegiance.
David Limbaugh writes: ...we know beyond any doubt that Richard Armitage, not Libby, was the leaker. Since Libby had committed no "underlying" crime, he had no motive to commit perjury. He had nothing to cover up.
Yes, and it seems that in a case with as much abundant gray and shady areas as this one, that "motive" should have been taken into consideration. But when you're looking for a lamb to sacrifice...
We've recently been reminded of the rash of Clinton pardons...
(really?... reminded by whom?... did Katy Couric highlight this?)
...at the close of their second term in exchange for political contributions and other self-serving reasons. But even before that black mark on America's presidential history, I chronicled in my first book Clinton's abuse of the power to pardon FALN terrorists to boost Hillary's popularity with Puerto Rican voters in her New York Senate race.
This "double standard"... this "African American calling the albino black" (as we say in Greentown)... highlights the unlevel playing field that arises when one political party has the media and popular culture in its back pocket.
For it is not the amazingly obvious hypocrisy of the Democrats that is shocking... But the fact that they parade it around largely unchallenged.
Update:
To "anonymous" who left the comment suggesting that I am a racist:
It is the downfall of the colorblind that they are racially insensitive.
It is the downfall of the colorblind, conservative achiever that he expects the same high ethical standards of all races and nationalities.
It is the downfall of the confident that they wonder why anyone would choose to walk around with a chip on their shoulder... So fragile and easily offended.
It is the downfall of those who recognize that - the differences in the races are limited to the physical - that they are unsympathetic and impatient with racially-based "victim mentality."
Anonymous... That's the closest thing to an apology that you will get from me.

WASHINGTON (AP) - John McCain jettisoned two top aides Tuesday, the one-time Republican front-runner struggling to right a presidential bid in deep financial and political trouble.
Lackluster fundraising and a high rate of spending left McCain's campaign with just $2 million on hand six months into the year, forcing him to lay off dozens of campaign aides last week across all areas of the organization.
McCain's own embrace of politically disastrous positions also contributed to his woes.
Really?
You mean there was a price to be paid for being the nation's lead RINO?
I suppose if John was reading his press clippings - those produced by the liberal media - I'm sure he thought himself the heir apparent to the White House. But like so many, John is learning that he has to answer to the people who vote... Not his sycophants in the press.
Goodbye John... And rest in peace.

Dad is having trouble with macular degeneration and I'll be driving him to the eye doctor today to get another shot in the eye. Like most troubles, he's taking it in stride.
We have a good relationship... But I wasn't so sure... Those first couple days in the nursery at Marion General Hospital...
Where do I begin? The crib they placed me in was drab and very plain. Some of the other babies had newer and brightly colored cribs... And one of my wheels wobbled.
Why me?
My mother's milk was fine. But some of the other infants got formula, and though it wouldn't have been as good for me, I think I should have been afforded the experience. And maybe there was another breast nearby that had sweeter more abundant milk? Sadly I'll never know.
There was a child in the crib next to mine that I liked very much and whose company gave me comfort. Suddenly she was gone... Leaving me terribly lonely.
And what about the time the doctor came in and circumcised me? How could a loving father allow that to happen? All that pain and humiliation... Where was Dad then?
There were many rooms in the hospital that I never got to see. Dad could have easily addressed that situation... And the most painful inequity of all was that I only had 48 hours in the nursery! Some infants had 49, 50.... Some even got to stay for 72 hours!!! How was that fair?
Still, I left the nursery a long time ago and I now know that Dad had an entirely different perspective on my first two days at the hospital.
He was there for me, making sure that I had everything I needed.. Even if I didn’t get everything I wanted.
But he was thinking about getting my bedroom ready… About my first steps… The talks we would have and the things we would do when I was no longer encumbered by such an underdeveloped brain and body.
I think the reason why I cried so much was simply because… All I could see was the nursery. I should have had more faith in my father.
Being an adult is a pretty glorious thing compared to those first 48 hours, and I almost never think about those two days. Still, the things of the nursery seemed very important to me at the time... But my life didn’t really begin until my father took me home.
------
Some day my Heavenly Father will take me home, and it will be like waking from dream. And being in the presence of Jesus will make the best experiences on Earth seem like a warm bottle of milk in the nursery. I will never be more conscious, satisfied, or fulfilled than I will be on that day... As a creature created to fly... Finally spreads his wings.

As you know, the earth is heating up to record levels as global warming threatens to melt the ice caps, flood the lowlands, and incinerate us all!
I blame myself.
I've been trying to come up with some super ideas that might save the planet. After all... As mothers go, Mother Earth has been a good mother... A kind mother... Showering us with gentle rain... Blessing us with the warmth of sunshine... She treats all of her little children with sweetness and tender kindness, except when she sends hurricanes and tornadoes and is a total bitch.
Super Idea #1: In the wintertime, all public buildings shall be kept no warmer than 63.5 degrees F.
This will save energy and be great for the wool and textile industries. Why 63.5 degrees?
Why not?
Super idea #2: In the summertime, all public buildings shall be kept no cooler than 82 degrees F.
To compensate for the warmer temperatures, women will be allowed... Perhaps even encouraged... to wear tank tops to work. They also shall be allowed to wear shorts... Short shorts...Very very short... The kind that are so short that they show the little curve at the bottom of their buttocks's.
...I've lost my train of thought.
Super Idea #3: Wash dishes, bathe, and flush weekly. This three tiered guideline will save on water and be a bonanza for the deodorant, cologne, and air freshener industries.
Super Idea #4: Replace all street lamps with 60 watt bulbs. Here's an idea whose time has come!
Super Idea #5: Build a Disney World in each state. Less travel!
Super Idea #6: The Federal Government shall build thousands of stationary bikes hooked up to generators and hire illegal Mexicans to ride them. This program, nicknamed "Pedro Power" will get us off dirty carbon based fuels because Mexicans will do most anything for a buck.
Well that's all I have for now. It's a good start.
....

One of the most amazing accomplishments of The Left has been the transforming of - perhaps the most sympathetic creatures on the planet - into an inconsequential afterthought... A lump of tissue undeserving of humane consideration... A tiny trespasser or intruder that should have known better than to parasitically attach itself to an unsuspecting heroine who is busy accomplishing something important with her life.
The Nazis and their propaganda machine did the same thing with the Jews, but most Jews aren't cuddly and almost never coo. The left and its propaganda juggernaut discredited and dehumanized the unborn with amazing speed and deftness.
For now, being a fundamentalist Christian involves a relatively risk-free existence in this country - no one is physically targeting us or threatening to suction out our brains. Some people hate us... Some much more than most of us know... And many attempt to discredit and defame us. Still, the evil done to us is mostly restricted to punch lines and misrepresentations.
But with Rosie O'Donnell saying, "Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam..." And Barak Hussein Obama saying, "Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart. It got hijacked..." (hijacked like the 9/11 jets) The anti-Christian rhetoric is certainly ramping-up, and coming from notable people.
If Christian fortunes of the last 50 years continue and proceed in the same direction - with the same degenerative social and cultural implications... The next 50 years could land American believers in a very unhappy place.
From the first European settlers, to the founding fathers... right up until half-way through the 20th century - Christianity had been all mountain-top-high-fives among reputable and respected souls - as we waltzed along rich, fat, respected... and ignorant of something called religious persecution.
But looking around early in the 21st century we see the fruits of secularization... We see the misrepresentations and ridicule in popular entertainment, the so-called "hate speech" threats over Biblical teachings, and political circles that despise Christians more than terrorists who fly jets into skyscrapers.
When I was a child, the fetus was a baby. The Church was held in esteem - at least publicly - by the media... And Christians were the moral conscience of this nation.
But today, a baby is disposable. And, I fear... The carefree mountain top days for Christians may be nearing an end.

When Ms. Coulter is on TV or when she writes... Anything... I tune in. With an incredible wit, she says what I'm thinking as she performs iconoclastic surgery of the Left's most sacred of its sacred cows. And taking itself very seriously, the Left has a very large herd.
The Left has many of its own so called "bomb-throwers" but somehow Ann is the remarkable one... The one that needs to be reigned-in and scolded... And the criticism comes from both the Right and Left.
But not from me.
Ann is funny. Ann is "hip." Ann is cool, clever, and biting. Ann is effective. And the liberal pop culture along with the mainstream media will lie cheat and steal to discredit her.
Let's focus on a "dirty little lie" that the Edwards campaign told about Ann when they edited a quote out of context from an interview.
The clip from the ABC interview posted by the campaign has Coulter declaring, "If I'm gonna say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."
Missing, however, is the fact that Coulter's wry remark played off of her reference to a provocative comment made by HBO host Bill Maher about Vice President Cheney.
Coulter told "Good Morning America's" Chris Cuomo: "But about the same time, Bill Maher was not joking in saying he wished Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack. So I've learned my lesson, if I’m gonna saying anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."
This is not an isolated incident. The less than honest NBC Nightly Leftist News recently edited a lie about Pat Buchanan:
NBC Nightly News, on June 24, tried to smear amnesty opponents by quoting Pat Buchanan out of context...
Nightly News quotes Pat Buchanan: “Many of them are child molesters or drunk drivers, they’re rapists, they’re robbers, they’ve got a variety of crimes but they commit a felony by being here.”
(NBC’s John) Yang leaves the misleading impression that Buchanan had been generalizing about all illegal immigrants during a discussion on MSNBC’s Meet the Press. But the segment Yang omitted shows Buchanan was referring only to illegal immigrants who are also convicted felons: “And you go after, in deportation, the 600,000 who’ve been ordered deported who are now criminal felons who have stayed in this country. Many of them are child molesters or drunk drivers, they’re rapists, they’re robbers, they’ve got a variety of crimes but they commit a felony by being here.”
The fact that Yang is still employed demonstrates that NBC is not burdened with a penchant for integrity and honesty... Once important character components in a news organization.
From the 1960's to the present, Conservatives have been fair game for misrepresentation, hyperbole, comedic ridicule, and lies. As demonstrated above, the Left has abandoned even the pretense of honesty by resorting to cheap editing tricks to discredit political ideals they can't out-argue or out-reason.
There is a place in our society for Rush Limbaugh, Dennis Miller, and yes... Ann Coulter. Conservatives should show a little backbone and stand up for Ann and her right to speak out... As she lends a little acerbic balance to the political equation.
David Horowitz writes for Front Page Mag:
When he was in office and responsible for protecting us, Al Gore was absent from the war on terror. As Vice President, he was part of an administration that failed to respond to the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993; that cut and ran when al-Qaeda ambushed US Army Rangers in Mogadishu; that called for regime change in Iraq when Saddam expelled the UN weapons inspectors but then failed to remove Saddam or to get him to allow the UN inspectors back in; that failed to respond to the murder of US troops in Saudi Arabia or the attack on an American warship in Yemen; that reacted to the blowing up two US embassies in Africa by firing missiles at an aspirin factory in the Sudan and empty tents in Afghanistan; that refused to kill or capture Osama Bin Laden when it had a dozen chances to do so; and that did not put in place simple airport security measures, its own task force recommended, that would have prevented 9/11.
In short, to every act of war against the United States during the 1990s, the Clinton-Gore response was limp-wristed and supine. And worse. By refusing to concede a lost presidential election, thereby breaking a hundred-year tradition, Gore delayed the transition to the new administration that would have to deal with the terrorist threat. As a result of the two-month delay, the comprehensive anti-terror plan that Bush ordered on taking office (the Clinton-Gore team had none) did not arrive on his desk until the day before the 9/11 attack.
Yet, it is characteristic of Gore’s myopic arrogance that he would wag his finger at the Bush administration for its failure to anticipate the 9/11 attack.
You simply can't say it any better than that.

Michael Moore writes to Senator Fred Thompson:
Given that it has been publicly reported in The Weekly Standard, a leading neo-conservative publication, that you support Fidel Castro and the Cuban regime by being a purveyor of fine Cuban exports despite the trade embargo, I was surprised to see your recent op ed in a more traditional conservative outlet, The National Review, regarding my trip to Cuba.
While I will leave it up to the conservatives to debate your hypocrisy and the Treasury Department to determine whether the “box upon box of cigars” violates the trade embargo, I hereby challenge you to a health care debate.
What Moore is referring to is when Thompson wrote:
“It always leaves me shaking my head when I read about some big-time actor or director going to Cuba and gushing all over Castro.”
Thompson's response is below...
Congressman Mike Pence (R-Indiana) has been a stalwart supporter of the American-Israel alliance. He recently introduced an amendment to the foreign aid bill that would prohibit groups that deny Israel's right to exist from receiving American (taxpayer dollar) foreign aid. The amendment passed 390-30.
Of the 30 members of Congress who have no problem with giving money to groups that advocate and plan for the destruction of Israel, 27 of them were Democrats.

Gilchrest Jefferson Johnson E. B.Jones (NC)Kanjorski Kaptur Kennedy Kilpatrick Kucinich LaHood Lee McDermott Miller George Moran (VA) Rahall Slaughter Stark Waters Watt Welch (VT)
And would that be Indy's Julia Carson that voted for Israel being driven into the sea? And our first Muslim Congressman (Ellison) is a Jew hater? Go figure.

PARIS: Distrust of the United States has intensified across the world, but overall views of America remain very or somewhat favorable among majorities in 25 of 47 countries surveyed in a major international opinion poll, the Pew Research Center reported Wednesday.
Big woop.
"Anti-Americanism since 2002 has deepened, but it hasn't really widened," said Andrew Kohut, director of the Pew Global Attitudes Project. "It has worsened among America's European allies and is very, very bad in the Muslim world. But there is still a favorable view of the United States in many African countries, as well as in 'New Europe' and the Far East."
Our "friends" in Europe that have surrendered their cultures to Islamic Immigrants - are no doubt amazed and put-off by our lack of sophistication and downright backwardness. But since they will soon be immigrating here, donning burqas, or being beheaded... I'm not sure concern for their opinions is a timely use of our energies.
Our cultural melt-down is in progress, too... But at least we'll have guns when the time comes to take back our country from the politicians - and the unassimilated trespassers and their liberal and tribal representatives.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Bill Barnes says he was scratching off a losing $2 lottery ticket inside a gas station when he felt a hand slip into his front-left pants pocket, where he had $300 in cash.
He immediately grabbed the person's wrist with his left hand and started throwing punches with his right, landing six or seven blows before a store manager intervened.

"I guess he thought I was an easy mark," Barnes, 72, told The Grand Rapids Press for a story Tuesday.
He's anything but an easy mark: Barnes served in the Marines, was an accomplished Golden Gloves boxer and retired after 20 years as an iron worker.
I love this old soldier. 72 years old and he dismantles a punk thief. God bless him.

The amnesty bill passed the "cloture test" because of the "yea" votes offered by those listed below. They know that no matter how angry we get... We'll all come crawling back come election day!
Think so? I think this vote may well portend the coming irrelevance of the Republican Party.

All I Can Stands, of The Logic Lifeline, has a great post about Barack Obama and his suggesting that the Religious Right has hijacked the Christian Faith... Yes, sort of the same way we talk about Radical Islam hijacking the Muslim Faith.
Great reading from one of my favorite blogs!
A statewide poll of presidential preferences conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. that was made available to the Review-Journal on Saturday shows hypothetical candidate Fred Thompson leading a tight Republican field.
The television star and former Tennessee senator had the support of 25 percent of the 400 likely Republican caucus goers in the poll, conducted Wednesday through Friday. He was followed by Mitt Romney, with 20 percent, and Rudy Giuliani, with 17 percent.
John McCain slid down to single digits in the poll, with just 8 percent. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
On the Democratic side, (Does anyone care?) Hillary Clinton continued to dominate, as she has in every early Nevada poll. The New York senator and former first lady had 39 percent of the 400 likely Democratic caucus goers surveyed, followed by Barack Obama with 17 percent and John Edwards with 12 percent.
Of course, this state has repeatedly elected Harry Reid... Enough said.
I like Thompson. His ability to communicate must scare the Dems half to death. But when the mud starts flying... And it will - from both Parties... We'll see what the man is really made of.

Or Could Be Any Day Now...
At a time in our country's history when enemies are training to come here and blow us up... At a time when the U.S. military could rightly and legitimately be on the border shooting at anyone trying to trespass illegally... At a time when it would only take one sick religious extremist to kill thousands...
This president is fighting tooth and nail to make the border problem a bigger problem.
COLUMBUS, N.M. - On Sept. 5, a man calling himself Miguel Alfonso Salinas was apprehended off a deserted highway near the U.S.-Mexico border.
It would take nearly a week of interviews with federal agents before Alfonso Salinas would give his real name: Ayman Sulmane Kamal, a Muslim born in Egypt - a country designated as "special-interest" by the United States for sponsoring terrorism.

Jimmy Carter is the worst president of my lifetime... As of today...
Appearing on John Ziegler's evening show on KFI 640 AM in LA, U.S. Senator James Inhofe says he overheard Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) and Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) saying they want a "legislative fix" for talk radio.
As far as I can tell, Clinton and Boxer are not concerned with the Left-Wing bias of newspapers and network television and radio news. They just want to limit some kinds of speech.
Trent Lott, the guy that conservative talk radio defended (and rightly so) after his gaffed comments at the Strom Thurmond Party, has made similar statements.
The Senate Leadership in all their arrogant glory - both Republican and Democrat - can't stand the fact that the American public disapproves overwhelmingly of the Amnesty Bill. They wish we would go back to watching American Idol and let them run the country.
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas, who has been under intense pressure from the White House and Republican leadership to support a sweeping immigration overhaul, nevertheless announced today that she will vote against reviving the legislation when it returns to the Senate floor next week.
I think we need to fix Congress... Not talk radio. Let's keep Inhofe, Hutchison, and a few others... Throw out the rest, and elect guys that want to go to Washington and represent... Us.

Sen. Hillary Clinton was booed again this morning at the Take Back America conference, sponsored by the lefty activist group Campaign for America's Future here in Washington.
"We're going to end the war in Iraq and finally bring home the troops," she said as a number of Code Pink protesters stood up in the audience. When she declared, "The American military has done its job," boos began to be heard around the room. As the boos increased, Sen. Clinton raised her voice. "The American military has succeeded," she said, to more boos. "It is the Iraqi government that has failed to make the tough decisions." Still more boos.
Obviously these Democrat supporters hate the military. They are allowed to rant and demonstrate and boo because young Americans have fought and died to preserve their freedom to do so.
How small of them. How small of Hillary Clinton to let the moment pass without expressing outrage.

The tape shows Taliban military commander Mansoor Dadullah, whose brother was killed by the U.S. last month, introducing and congratulating each team as they stood.
Sir Salman Rushdie celebrates his 60th birthday today in familiar circumstances: he is once again the subject of death threats across the Islamic world.
Eighteen years after the Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa calling on Muslims to kill him, a government minister in Pakistan said yesterday that Rushdie’s recent knighthood justified suicide bombing.
The question of blasphemy in The Satanic Verses, Rushdie’s 1988 tale of a prophet misled by the devil, remains a deeply sensitive issue in much of the Muslim world and the author’s inclusion in the Queen’s Birthday Honours last week has inflamed anti-British sentiment.
Let's all take a moment and bask in the thoughtful and staid pronouncements flowing from the Religion of Peace. In the tradition of rioting over comic strips, the Muslim World now says that the knighting of The Satanic Verses' author - justifies suicide bombing.
In my humble opinion, the utterly Satanic threat of suicide bombing - justifies carpet bombing.

Our Tax Dollars at Work
These peaceful people from the religion of peace appear to be acting totally out of character... Like a bunch of crazed animals - as they run around killing each other. I'm not sure how this is Israel's fault, but the Jew-Haters in the United Nations and in Europe will no doubt be able to explain it.
Maybe the Palestinians who really hate the Jews need to kill-off all the Palestinians who just sort of hate the Jews before the former can fully concentrate on killing Jews.
I'm just hoping the U.S. foreign aid money is still finding its way to the Palestinians. These people obviously make good use of our hard-earned dollars.

Secretary of Defense Gates is currently announcing that he will not be re-nominating General Pace to head the Joint Chiefs.
The reason?
Malott's Blog believes that this was decided because - the confirmation process would involve an ugliness that this outstanding General should not have to endure.
Yes, all those brave leaders in Congress won't get to pick apart this oustanding soldier and public servant.
Good luck, General Pace... And thanks for your service to our country.
Great Britain ---Mohammed could soon become the most popular boy’s name in the country, as more and more Muslim parents choose to name their sons after the Islamic Prophet.
When all the different spellings of the name are added up, the name was second only to Jack in last year’s registration of boys’ births.
Demographic experts say high fertility rates among Muslims compared to the British population as a whole are driving the increase.
Rule Britania!
Britania rule the waves!
As uncontrolled Muslim immigration
Makes you slaves.
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate divisions that derailed a White House-backed immigration bill - for now, at least - mirror the U.S. society's deep differences over the issue, according to polling data, lawmakers and analysts. Those gaps will challenge any effort to get the measure back on track.
Good.
Close our porous borders with a fence and punish those who try to cross - start deporting those here illegally, and use the money saved on social programs and education to employ more INS and border agents.... Enforce our laws. Then talk to me about resolving the "illegals" problem through legislation.
The only thing that makes this an impossible problem to solve... Is the government's lack of will to solve it.

MONTPELIER, Vt. --At Riverwalk Records, the all-vinyl record store just down the street from the state Capitol, the black "US Out of Vt.!" T-shirts are among the hottest sellers.
But to some people in Vermont, the idea is bigger than a $20 novelty. They want Vermont to secede from the United States -- peacefully, of course.
Disillusioned by what they call an empire about to fall, a small cadre of writers and academics is plotting political strategy and planting the seeds of separatism.
They've published a "Green Mountain Manifesto" subtitled "Why and How Tiny Vermont Might Help Save America From Itself by Seceding from the Union." They hope to put the question before citizens at Town Meeting Day next March, eventually persuading the state Legislature to declare independence, returning Vermont to the status it held from 1777 to 1791.
The entire staff at Malott's Blog is in favor of this proposal. While it may be devastating to lose representatives of the stature of Sen. Patrick Leahy, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rep, Peter Welch... We believe the U.S.A. just might survive without this ultra-liberal state.
So we say, "Goodbye Vermont"... "Good luck"... "And don't let the door hit your butt on the way out."
Many of those on the Left are using supposed "Man-Made Global Warming" as a political tool... But I believe there are many who are sincere and without ulterior motives. For them I offer this:
1) God made the earth and its environment adequate for His purposes. (Why wouldn't He?)
2) When the Earth is destroyed (and it will be) it will be by His hand... Not ours.
3) But either way... If you believe the hope and future for mankind is the Planet Earth, you are going to be very disappointed.
Have a nice, worry-free day. I intend to.
Immigrant from Lebanon Drags Woman to Her Death
Detectives say Hall fell off the minivan's hood and got caught in the undercarriage, Sheriff Ken Jenne said at a news conference Monday morning. The driver then dragged her for about two miles, reaching speeds up to 70 mph in the process and weaving between lanes in an attempt to shake her off. He finally left Hall dead in the 1600 block of State Road 7 in North Lauderdale.
Family of Sandra Hall released this photo 44-year-old mother of two, who was dragged to death on Sunday.Sunday, June 03, 2007
Conservative Republicans have been asking themselves, "Why would President Bush endeavor to flush away our culture, ruin our economy, and make a big problem worse... By supporting amnesty legislation for illegal tresspassers? Why would he choose to totally tick-off the few supporters he has left... Those loyal Conservatives who have stuck up for him and supported him?

Listening, faithfully as always... Malott's blog has learned from the Peter Heck Show, Indiana's fastest growing radio talk show, that the Republican National Committee has fired all 65 of its telephone solicitors. Why? Because of an estimated 40 percent falloff in small-donor contributions.
The entire staff at Malott's blog is basking in its power. (see "My Call From The Republican National Committee" below)
Maybe the Republican National Committee should consider the remote possibility that those who support the Republican Party are totally ticked-off over the President's support of the amnesty bill. Maybe they should consider that we sent them to Washington to represent our values and wishes.
