We do too! The theatre here is crowded, so hopefully, we will go this week.
I have one gripe about the actors - the new "Scottie" has less hair than the original. So, if he's supposed to be the younger one, he gained hair as he got older! :-D
I just saw it Friday night on the local IMAX screen. I liked it very much. I have been a Star Trek fan since childhood. However, that never really transferred to the new series like Next Gen and their spin-offs. If it doesn't have Kirk and Spock, I am not as interested.
I don't know if they computer generated some scenes, but it seemed like they had some quick scenes here and there with the young actors where for just a split second their faces looked very much like the faces from the original series. There was one scene that young Spock said something and I would swear they dubbed in Leonard Nimoy's voice. The new Kirk and Spock did a fantastic job.
I did not like the new Ohoura, but come to think of it did not really like the old one. For the first 2 minutes I thought I did not like the new Chekov, but he grew on me quick. I really liked the new Scotty. McCoy and Sulu were ok.
