I think what we have here is them showing just exactly why they must be watched so very carfully. I looked at the cartoons and read the danish paper (with a little translation of course) and they did not seem offensive or even provacative. But then I believe an artist has the right to emote artistically. If I don't want to see it I close my eyes. Perhaps the muslims are concerned that we will start to identify their actions with their beliefs and act to stop it...lolLarryChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01613113182141495476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14242496.post-1139335948810171992006-02-07T13:12:00.000-05:002006-02-07T13:12:00.000-05:00Thanks for the mention. I think what burns me the most about all of this is the US News media (specifically CNN) not showing them "out of respect for Islam".

I don't care whether they show the cartoons or not. I don't care if they have respect for Islam or not. I do care about a blindingly double standard where it comes to their history where they have shown items offensive to Christianity. Instead of respect for Christianity, they have shown ridicule and disdain.

If instead of stating the "out of respect" line, they had said "out of total fear that we will bring violence on ourselves or others, we are refraining from showing..." I would not be so angry.All_I_Can_Standshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13706352699628789787noreply@blogger.com
